Hi all, first time accident and reported to the police because the other party did not want to admit fault. May I know if I can repair my car first while waiting for the investigation as I do not want my NCD to be affected. Will be collecting the police report by morning. Please advise what are the next steps I should take. Thank you in advance.

If you repair without notifying insurance company

Very unlikely they will compensate you when you seek for reimbursement

The best option you have now is to pressure the sarjan to complete your investigation ASAP

Should i buy the police report now or wait until sarjan complete investigation ya?

Buy now and submit first

Take it as notification to your insurance company

Doing so, you won't be penalize for late submission

You can still retract later if police refuse to saman other party and you decide to fix yourself to avoid losing NCD

So I can buy the report now and submit it for OD KFK is it?

Yup

But will only grant KFK once you give them police saman which confirm the other party at fault

If not, they will convert back to normal OD

need sifu advice on the insurance claim scenario as below,

car accident:
my Merz behind bang by a old Wira (police report made, Wira kena saman)

Merz: go for OD-KFK claim? or claim from old Wira (as Wira insurance is not enough cover the repair)

other damage include:
Merz bumper PPF need redo, did not cover in the insurance.
At first Wira agree to compensate the PPF cost, but then FFK at last.
What able to do? Am i able to for small claim court ?

is it this KFK thing only have 14 window period? below quote is what i found online... im worried about the window period, as recently has packed schedule with CNY event
"The Insured must notify the Insurance Company within 14 days from the date of accident. Failing which the company has absolute right and discretion not to entertain the Insured's KFK claim."

Just send an email to them stating your intend to make an KFK claim

Attached along police documents

This is sufficient to consider a notification

For TP claim, the limit is 3 millions. Doubt your repair cost exceed the said amount

Btw, just go with OD KFK if the police investigation outcome favour you. Faster and less hassle

PPF is a film that protecting the paint of the car, something like our phone screen protector...

Insurance only cover standard/factory-installed parts. Anything added/modded later on are not covered. Unless you opted for additional accessories coverage when purchasing the insurance.

I didn't knew we need to call bomba even if got minor fire on our car. Insurance didn't say anythin, tow guy also didn't knew needed. The fire was kena padam by bystander.

I think you can do it but chance only 50/50, and need time as well.

yea, been thinking this, is it worth spending time on small claim court, or suck up RM1200 myself to reapply PPF

Tapi semalan saya dah transfer 1000 ringgit kat dia punya bank account

Boleh saya tanya, boleh polis hubungi dia untuk membuat report juga sebab saya rasa 1000 ringgit mungkin tak cukup untuk baiki dia punya bumper dan juga terlalu banyak kalau settle luar. Sebab itu Keluarga saya saran saya membuat repot polis semalam
