Need some advice..
My car was hit in the condo carpark by my neighbour. He admitted it and we went to fix it at the workshop he suggested. Midway of fixing, he left and said he will come back to pay. But after the repairs were done, he didnt come back and asked me to settle first. It was my fault to believe he will pay me back because after more than 1 week now, he still havent paid me back.

Any advice?

what do you wish to achieve?

Claim against his insurance or your insurance

Eitherway, both kena lodge police reports

And you will get compound for late reporting in the first place

And the claims handler will question you for late reporting

You can still try to call your insurance company

whether they can allow you to file OD claim without police report

It is up to their discretion

and you NCD will hilang if you do OD claim

Hi,

Yesterday I involved in accident during the heavy rain on highway.

In the first place, I was on the right lane, suddenly, I couldn't control my car due to some of the part of the road is really slippery and my car terbabas masuk lane lain, berpusing until hit other people car.

My car have some minor damage only but the other guy car is really terrible. Bahagian depan kereta teruk.

I called PLUS Hotline and the PLUS Peronda came to us. The peronda guys adviced us that they can tow truck the car to Setia Alam exit only.

And then suddenly there's one guy that came to us, saying that they can tow truck the guy car that involved in accident to Proton repairing centre since the car that badly damaged is Proton. He provided the name card and so on.

This is my first time and that guy first time involved in heavy accident. We are totally blur and couldn't think properly. I also asked that guy what insurance he's using and he's like blur and have no idea.

Is it wrong for me and the guy that involved in accident that simply accept to sign the form and ask them to tow truck the car to repairing centre?

The other party also have no idea what insurance he's using and it's almost midnight when the incident happened.

never sign anything that tow truck ask you to

there are a lot of rogue tow truck fella

they will tow to their workshop which is not recognized by insurance company

you won't be able to fix your car there and need to transfer to a proper workshop

then the tow guy will hold your car ransom and demand compensation for towing services which will go as high as RM500

Always call your insurance hotline when accident happen

All insurance company provide free towing service if you sign up for comprehensive policy

First thing first never accept any of outsider towing and people stopping by just to check and offer their towing or insurances.

Call your own towing provided by your car insurance and wait for them to come. If u accept any outsider u basically just decline and have high risk of getting scam and your car insurance wont cover your loss for anything.

Go to police and make report unless the person u hit want to settle outside

My parked car was rear-ended by a distracted motorcyclist and police report was made by both sides where he admitted guilt (still waiting for the keputusan).

My workshop insists that they don't process TPPD claims (only OD), and is pressuring me to take the NCD hit.

What are my options, if I would like to protect my NCD?

It seems I may need to appoint my own adjuster etc, anyone else has gone through the process before and can walk me through it?

loui The link to your sample TPPD letter is dead.

call your insurance company

ask whether you can claim under "OD no fault" which will not affect your NCD

takes for example Am General @ Kurnia

https://www.amassurance.com.my/sites/amgen/...Theft-Eng_0.pdf

In their policy they does allow OD no fault claim

it all depends on insurance company

Some will allow you to claim under OD no fault if you can provide the other party police report and keputusan (which shows the other side kena compound)

Hi guys,

Want to ask something,

If the car that you own is an old car, I mean like Proton Waja, Proton Persona (older version), when you involved in accident and they declared it as total lost, but you still have loan with the bank,

Does the insurance company can pay you the money back same like what you loaned with the bank?

thank you

tq

Doesn't matter old car or new car. Put is this way for easy understand.

e.g. You loan 70k. After X years, your loan balance is 50k. Your car total lost and insurance offer 45k. You have to top-up 5k to settle the loan.

This is one reason why not to take 7 or 9 years loan. Your car value will always be lower than your loan balance and if things like this happens, you need to top up more.

Exception is if you buy agreed-value insurance, which most insurers have now, but premium have to pay extra 100++ per year.

Thanks guys! Means I will need to inform my insurer accordingly after I get the keputusan. I have dashcam footage that I'm in standstill in a traffic jam and the bike crashed into the back of my car... hope its useful...

A follow up to my case for sharing and advice is very much welcomed!

So my insurer sent me a letter saying that the motorcyclist who hit my car from behind has appointed a legal firm to claim against my insurance. The worst thing is the sergeant said the case could not be closed as the motor tat hit me claimed there is another motorbike hit him first before hitting me, and no keputusan can be made until the third motor come forward to make a report.

Called my insurance and they say that in this cases, usually they will end up paying 50% of the claims and i will lose my NCD for sure. Which is unfair but I can only blame it on bad luck sad.gif

Hi guys, need some advice. Today I got into a minor accident. A bike hit my car from the rear (side, near the rear wheel). Rear light broken, plus some scratches. The rider agreed to pay for repairs (gave me his h/p number). I have not go to workshop to repair the damage yet.

Should I make a police report just in-case the rider changed his mind?
Thanks all for your time.

If not mistaken someone said before you can make a cover report saying there is particular bike, particular color and model hit your car but left out the plate number.
