I went as far as Mazda AIO only since my Linux is rudimentary. It should be a walk in the park if you have linux experience. Plenty of resources on github and stuff....

i'm confident wit the root access, but i plan to enable apply carplay, which not only required root access, but also some physical access as well the retrofit kit.
so i was wondering if there is any shop here provide AIO package.

I do saw some shops providing full installation of retrofit + updating new firmware to enable apply car play. However, I felt their pricing is cutthroat, and the kit can be purchased on amazon/ebay.
There is plenty of guide in youtube and forums, which covers both physical and software installation process. Perhaps can DIY.

If price too high, better just go mazda service center for official update, should comes with few months warranty ? Last I discuss with other owner, the price difference between outside shop and mazda are few hundreds difference only now.

In this case yes, it would be recommended to install at Mazda centre, as long they have the retrofit kit ready

Usually after battery replacement, will need to do iStop reset.

But if you drive around few days and don't encounter any problem, then no need worry much.

Oil filter - RM15~30 (saw Shoppee got promotion, else its usually around 30++ from spare part shops)
Engine oil - Rm100~200++ (see your preferred oil)
Labour - RM30~50 (mechanic around my place charges this price range for standard EO change)

**In the event you let workshop source the oil filter, please make sure they get the correct model**
(because the oil filter for Skyactive series vs pre-Skyactive looks the same, but diff parts number. And both are different even though can fit. My go to workshop made that mistake last time)

exactly. Those offered by Mazda SC's are cheaper now. You can get it less than 1k if u know someone in Mazda and not to mention, it comes with warranty. Those charging u few hundred ringgits for their service has no warranty and there's a possibility they can brick ur headunit.

So its okay to send Mazda2 to normal workshop for maintenance? Or do you feel Mazda SC still the better one?

its ok if send just for oil change. if there's something wrong with ur engine, u might have to go back to SC. Skyactiv tech is still new and there's not much dedicated workshops outside really knows much bout it. u can find more workshops who know how to fix rotary engines compared to new skyactiv engines.

Does ur car still have free service? if yes, nothing much to worry at the moment. Just sign and service ur car. Now they can pick up ur car from ur house or service ur car on the spot d.
