What about kingston and transcend?
oh you asked for top brands. kingston, corsair, and transcend are fine also (at least for general use). know that reliability is relative, and is subject to many factors, e.g. you usage; built-in components like controller, ram, nand flash type; features like power loss protection; how you optimize and maintain the drive, etc. in general, you get what you pay for.

Hi sifus,
A question about cloning. I got a Transcend SSD370 and I read up that most people recommend a clean install so that ACHI, TRIM, alignments are all not messed up if compared to cloning. Is that true?
Is it possible to clone safely or is it very highly recommended to make a clean install?
the best way is to do a clean install. it starts fresh and gets rid of any issues stem from known and unknown os- and third-party-provided driver conflicts, os-related settings (especially registry conflicts), etc.
as for cloning, especially from hdd to ssd, it really depends. know that modern os today can adjust automatically and accordingly to different hardware, so the risks of hitting walls are much smaller these days.
i think you should try cloning first. if it doesn't work well, do a clean install.
