QUOTE(stereobiru @ Jul 26 2017, 04:52 PM) which form factor? m.2 or 2.5"? for 2.5" i think you can choose from kingston or samsung. (there is no 'best' in budget ssds; they are almost the same in performance) alternatively you can check out garage sales here for good deals also. |

QUOTE(stereobiru @ Jul 26 2017, 07:33 PM) ok; i suggest samsung 850 evo 250gb for its 5-year warranty. the price gap between budget ssd and mainstream ssd is narrow actually. budget ssd is about myr 400 (3 years of warranty); adding another myr70.00 you will get additional 2 years of warranty for samsung 850 evo. (and also relatively better performance) imo it's a better buy. |

QUOTE(kcirdenk @ Jul 25 2017, 08:14 PM) It looks ok. For a home user the 4k random read/write speed is more important than sequential benchmarks. Results of a 480Gb UV400: The 4k read/write sucks badly for this TLC ssd. I found that TLC ssds will usually fail to complete (0Mb/s) the copy-benchmark in AS-benchmark utility which matches up with real world experience; with larger programs/games, the installation process can take very long in comparison with MLC type ssds. https://www.techspot.com/downloads/6014-as-...-benchmark.html Try the copy benchmark and see if it works properly. |
