I gave up waiting for gemfive to restock or at least let us know when they r restocking and bought the zenwatch 2 already. I'm sure they'll restock a day or 2 after i buy. Lol. Bought the black one & its beautiful & so far so good. Just finished syncing & do some settings. This is my first wearable and i think it'll need some learning before i get it all. Few questions to the pros, when I'm at a place with wifi & both phone & the watch are connected to the wifi, can i switch off bluetooth? And there's a message on the watch asking me to get google play services as it is required for android wear to function. I hv it installed on my phone & it's not disabled or anything and I'm using s6 edge. So far i receive all notifications on the watch.

For wifi connected, can turn off bluetooth or not. Most likely, but not 100% sure.

For the message, question is have you install Android Wear ? Maybe you will need proprietary apps from Asus ( Moto 360 will prompt you to install Connect apps, HW no apps )

Yea. Already installed android wear. All sync process are ok with tutorials done. The message was not the 1st message that came in. It came after quite a while. Asus got a zenwatch manager app which is not necessary to be installed but I've installed that too.

My 3rd Android Wear Device - The LG Watch Urbane

Coming from the 1st Gen Moto 360, some of the few things I like about the Urbane:

Better Battery Life: Even with Always-On, this device can definitely outlast my Moto 360, even when my Moto 360 doesn't have Always-On.

Smoother Performance: The smoothness in performance is pretty obvious here, much less choppy as compared to the Moto 360, especially during voice commands/replies. Also the screen has much better resolution.

No Flat Tire: I know many say they wouldn't mind the FT, but given the choice, I would rather not have the flat tire.

Uses Standard 22mm Straps: As compared to the Moto 360, any standard 22mm strap can be easily fitted on the watch. I had to use the SteelConnect M for the Moto 360 in order to achieve the same convenience.

Some things I miss:

Lack of Ambient Light Sensor: Lack of flat tire meaning lack of Ambient Light Sensor, which I missed during my time outdoors. Fortunately I don't hang around much outdoors under the sun. Till now I still wonder why can't manufacturers placed the ALS somewhere else and still giving the full circle. I guess it's the limitation of technology.

Design: Probably it's only my first day with the Urbane, but I still find Moto 360's overall design looks better. The lugs on the Urbane looks awkwardly large. But I do like the chrome finish of the Urbane though.

Thank you for reading. Loving the Urbane so far. Glad I made the jump, also got a great deal for this, SGD229 from Qoo10.SG

Congrats biggrin.gif
So true on battery life. Moto 360 ( without AlwaysOn ) I reached home with around 60% battery life. HW ( and most other AW with modern SOC ) reached home with 60% but AlwaysOn ( and not the Motorola's half-fake AlwaysOn tongue.gif )
Just like you, I really wanted Auto Brightness. True I rarely go outdoor too, but yesterday at Broga hill, damn it having difficult time to read time outside bangwall.gif
