Buy more GTF using DCA or Value Averaging.

As investors, we make money in the long run by topping up when the fund is falling. As speculators, we make money in the short run by topping up when the fund is rising.

Which category are you in my friend?

US market seems to have neutral, downgraded or negative outlook.

FM manager (CIMB) may rebalance to Europe and/or Japan.

just a note of for discussion.....
after having "diversified within diversification" I found my self having too many funds for my own good.
.....then the FSM CIS "enlightened me"...in simple note.....if you wanted to have 8% ROI of your portfolio....(that is what i wanted to get)......try not to get too many funds....
ex,...if 20 funds, each must get min 8%, and to get all these 20 (with 8% ROI pa) is NOT easy to get,....why not just select 4 "core" funds...the chances of get these 4 core funds with 8% ROI ea is "easier" to get.
After these 4,....get a few others (high ROI of current trends) funds with just a few % ea....i call it satellite funds.
Use this to "gamble" to try to push up a little of the portfolio ROI....
these satelite funds have to be monitored for growth trends frequently.....also if valuation is high...just throw.

i am now working on the end result expectation and forming my portfolio around the ROI target....
so are now planning to revamp my portfolio.....some are already done, some are still waiting for opportunities.....

what you think?
*
I think 4 funds are too few but 20 funds are too many. For a high value investor like you, my view is that 8 to 12 equity funds are still manageable. The odds are near impossible that all funds will get 8% ROI per year. Most likely some funds will get higher ROI and some funds will get lower ROI or even negative return. But the ROI will average out in the end.

We are aiming for diversification and not deworsification. Nothing is worse than having 2 funds which have a lot of similar stocks. One fund house is selling the stock while another fund house is buying the same stock. So we end up with a worsened risk/return trade-off.

In summary, we want negative correlation between the funds. One fund zig while the other fund zag.

This is just my personal view. I could be wrong. Open for discussion.

P/S: I notice you do not have any bond funds in your portfolio? I can only assume that you have other low risk investments outside FSM which balance out your equity funds.

hmm.gif that is a GOOD question for YKLOOI...
may i suggest just wait for some uncertainty to clear.....
maybe for GOOD or Worst.....i just don't know....
After Fitch rating announcement on Bolehland and nearer to FED Rate hike announcement....
should be able to help clear some anxiety and provide some direction....

....in the meantime waiting for > 5% dips...in KGF and GTF....to go in bit by bit...

no specific timeframe to complete just like the 1MDB audit..... brows.gif
is the best... thumbup.gif

Yeah. Its gonna be long term for me. SENSEX going down further today.

Also I don't understand why the China funds all recorded lower prices on Friday despite market closing up.

I experienced this before.

I sent email to FSM team to ask to check with FPX if they have received the money since it has been deducted from my account.

2015 is shaping up to be worse than 2014 for Malaysia. Since Jan 2015, the cumulative net foreign outflow of money from the KLSE amounted to RM2.62bil. In comparison, the cumulative foreign outflow for the entire 2014 was only RM6.93bil.

Doesn't look good for KLSE.
