talking about green pips, yesterday scalping on the leverage of 1:100 at major pairs, so far got $1.52 only, but still it's a small step forward.

BTW the swap rice is based on a daily basic is it, notice it during my trade on demo which eats most of the profit away

EURJPY...base on technical I'm looking at around 137.6 if the price able to close above 135.18, or else will look for long opportunity at 132.40
**still keen to long order for yen pair

But for USDJPY seem like there might be a short opportunity at H4, looking for opportunity to short since the price is resisted at the top of my symmetrical triangle(as the attachment showed) or if price close above then i will long.

There's this person has a MT4 account who let an "experienced" trader to trade on his behalf. Is this person himself able to retrieve all the history of trades made by the trader?

This friend really never traded by himself? Has he even tried to use the MT4 software? He can login himself and download the history of transactions as long as he has the primary login and username. He just needs to install the MT4 software and login to download the statements.

The broker should also be sending a statement of trades on a daily and month basis to the email that registered the MT4 account.

Nope, progressively add-on my capital up to 20K+.
Trust me, the amount of capital you have will affect your trading mindset greatly.

I trade very conservatively ..... even with 20K+ deposit, the max. lotsize I traded at any one time is no more than 12 miniLots (or 1.2 standard Lot).

Previously I used to trade on H4~D1 time frame and normally hold positions between 3~5 days.

However for the last 5 weeks I have started to use shorter time frame M30~H1 & most positions are closed within 2~3 hours.

EDITED:

I trade 100% on technical, no fundamental & I don't read news. I don't trade any specific pairs, I just studied around 10~15 pairs charts & trade the one I felt giving me strong signals.

TP not triggered has nothing to do with 'lost connection'. Once your trade is executed, your SL & PT are registered in the broker's server, not in your PC. You can even switch off your PC after executing your trade.

Theoretically you are right if trade 1.2 std lot x 20 pips profit.

However my trading strategy is normally I start off with 3-minilot, then add another 3-minilots upon pullback & finally add another 3-minilots upon pullback, making a total of 9-minilots in play. But this strategy depends of the strength of the trend. Using this technique, at times I managed to harvest a TOTAL of 300~600 pips per day! In the longer-run my average TOTAL gain is about 65~70 pips per day.

Candlestick prices are based on SELL price. Since you sold, you TP is based on your BUY price which is SELL price + Spread. Your TP is to BUY at 1.5199 but the price action only went to 1.5197 SELL price. Unless your spread is less than 0.0002 (0.2 pips) there is no way your TP would have been triggered.

Turn on the BUY price on your MT4 indicator and watch it move with the SELL price. It gives you a much better picture of your spread.

Turn on the BUY price on your MT4 indicator and watch it move with the SELL price. It gives you a much better picture of your spread.

3minilot =0.3 rate,

It's called "continuation" BUY for uptrend. Dollar cost averaging sounds more for losing trades wink.gif

1 single pullback of 100pips.. if u r stuck with pull back every 30 pip... then u must be "hurt" alot on this technic

Remember when you trend trade ..... it's 2-steps forward 1-step backward for Uptrend & reverse for Downtrend. Don't expect the trend to move in a straight line upwards.

The scenario you mentioned above is more like "gostan-gear".

So the question arises .... how do you know the uptrend is still intact when there is a pullback? For me I look at the MA at higher timeframe.

EDIT:
I just made 58 pips profit from BUYING GBP/JPY icon_rolleyes.gif

normally 30pips is either the price will go on or pullback a bit. At 60pips the price usually goes to 70pips. And at 90pips there can be a little pullback. Thats the power of 3 6 and 9

i dont know but nobody control price movement. I teach u 1 thing :

If u see price going to the peak and then turn back, after 60pips set a sellstop and take profit at 70pip from peak.

If price hit bottom then suddenly going up, set buystop after 60pips and take profit at 70pip.

Example:

See EURJPY, yesterday's peak 136.70. Then price sliding down so set a sellstop at 136.09.

Another example is EURUSD , support line at 1.1265. At 1.1326 u enter buy as the price may hit 1.1335.

Now GBPUSD wanna make a nice ressistance line (maybe higher than last week's highest price). Let it go up and then ready to put sellstop.

Well...that is the power of no.6. For number 3 and 9...u can do your own research smile.gif

Thank You for being interested to our workshop tongue.gif
We do understand the concern but the whole team of the workshop is coming from Singapore so we need commitment form the guest, if not no one show up at the end is meaningless, we tried so we know...
So after talk with them there will be a final offer which if the guest are able to confirm the attendance by 4PM today (16th Feb2015), the guest will grant another complimentary ticket.
http://unbouncepages.com/forex100/

By the way, even it is US bank holiday today, USDJPY (H4) is showing a H&S chart pattern,
I will short if the price close below 118.30, it is a chart pattern trade so placing sl is very important & it will be a quite long terms of holding, Happy Piping

Hi KeroroQ,

Bro, i am also looking at trustworthy broker to start my trading journey. I looking at FXCM right now. But i found they been some problem with their firm last month.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/201...preads-i4zeetbl

Do they affect the trader's withdrawal process or event freeze withdrawal due this major issue?

Thanks.

Sigh..this Greece crisis is really stalling things. It can go either direction...drastically depending on the outcome. Market tested with going north on any form of positive (but false) news of EU having mercy on Greece.

Oh well, hope this is settled soon, else my fav pair is too risky to even hold now. Right now at 12am also no solution. Looks like its gonna drag on.

In the meantime, i need to find another non EUR pair

Well, for all you know, Greece deal came through, and all turn positive again (at least for short term, until ppl realise how much more eur will bleed to save greece ). Probably deal is already done behind the scene, just wayang kulit for public perception that Greece isn't getting an easy way out.

Daily EURUSD showing that the slide down seems to be stagnant for the past 2 weeks. From the last round of economic event , Germany, Poland..etc seems to be having positive KPI beating previous score, Q2Q and Y2D while Spain 6th quarter of growth. Reversal? hard to say..my contacts in EU seems to cast very negative sentiment, from bank accountants to street peddlers.

Thanks.

1. the websites seems chappy laugh.gif not sure, never used before
2. are you using a specific system? let's say, TMS?
(RSI 13, Stoch 8,3,3, MA 14) tweak settings to suit your trading style
For me RSI+stoch quite lagging and best used for higher TF like H4 laugh.gif

QUOTE(Love & Money @ Feb 21 2015, 06:53 PM)
This kind of wayang kulit I started following since years back, like 2011 or 2012, when Merkel was the main actress. Every once a few weeks or months there will be some talk about quitting the PIGS, stopping bailouts, etc BS and in the end still go along. I wish I have the chance to meet these assholes in public and yell at them "You really wanna quit? I FUCKING DARE YOU!!!" Also wish to meet that Greek baldie and yell at him "You don't want another bailout? I FUCKING DARE YOU!!!" just to let him know I knew his bluff.

Every time the script will turn to sound more and more serious and defiant like "I mean it! I REALLY MEAN IT!! I REALLY REALLY MEAN IT THIS TIME!!!" and in the end everyone still say yes to whatever the deal. This round a new Greek actor says "no, and I mean it and I've just blown apart the EUR Death Star and the Greek people cheer for me" and in the end, I still end up like the rest and say "yes".

Manipulation to the core.

This is a market where the ringmasters say outright, "We are manipulating the game." and everyone would still play along with it, thinking "The ringmasters say they manipulate you ah, not me ah, I am safe and brilliant and will make money ah."

Haiz...

Greece current political party already bruised on ego with thr Friday decision and pressure from euro group. They've probably been given their share of wayang kulit script and told to follow. All they flamboyant claims of ending austerity and not bowing to euro group are the usual political promises to rally fellow countryman. But see what happened now. Greece is told to sit in the corner and join the script.

FXunited is big scammer. Ask you to join. Put deposit but that deposit cannot withdraw. What i mean is fxunited Winst Account. If you wish to use this broker, better 0pen by your ownself standard account. Even public mutual can withdraw all deposit. What kind of law is this fxunited. Im feeling angry now.

Hi all, I've been wondering for awhile now.
How did you guy determined that the tf H4 on your chart is valid, as each broker have their own opening time and thus making the H4 candle variate between each broker.

Some are 2 Hrs early some are 3 Hrs, so one pinbar in a broker, doesnt necessarily viewed on another broker.

Any opinion?

Hi Mocha, you should using the GMT0 broker so that you have the same candle as the US session(the most traded market). How to check? New D1 candle start at 0000(MT4 TIME) and 0800(GMT+8/malaysian time).

*correct me if i'm wrong

Fxprimus withdrawal is confirm secure.. just what type of option that u choose..

Fxprimus do not have based in malaysia but they have representative managers in malaysia and BPO office.

They will only setup office in where the laws permit them to open.

Under Foreign exchange or better still.. if i only remember that law 1984 all monies derives from foreign investment
are tax free. ( correct me if i remember wrong the law part)

recent meeting with top bankers, internal source says that clearance deposits/ monies from foreign exchange currency into malaysia account above RM 200,000 must declare to BNM.

Not taxable but must declare and show proof records origin of money and purpose/ investment

I believe what he asked by "low risk, high returns" means high % gain, irrespective of capital. IMHO, forex is only "high risk, high return" when you blindly go into trades. Nothing better than gambling. But if you're patient enough to study the behavior of the market, then it becomes "low risk, high returns" because you know what you're doing with at least 80% certainty. And of course need alot of discipline too icon_rolleyes.gif

from 400 to 4.9k in 24 days. What is the lot size per trade here? seems like a "all-in" risk factor here. With the large commission seen, probably running on either lots of trades or large lot size.

* your commission is even larger than your deposit!

Can you share your public fxbook?

M5~M30 already showing downtrend. To me, this is temporary pullback only. After pullback I expect it to go North!

Euro's smelliest bullshit.

> Nein! (your head la, I DARE YOU!!!)

Last time that Baldy Greek said NO to further bailout, thus accused of blowing apart the EU Death Star.
Now, the EU itself (represented by German) say NO to bailout to the Greeks.

More and more never ending bullshits from the EU.

If I can go internationally public, I would yell at German, "Oh yeah? No more bailout for greedy Greeks? I DARE YOU TO DO IT!! I FUCKING DARE YOU!!!"
*
The wayang kulit goes on...

Merkel during the EU meeting 2 weeks ago with the new Greece president already upbeat for Greece. On the other hand, German finance chief was showing the middle finger at Greece. Those two Germans either sing a different song or just forgetting their lines in the script.

Anyway, EURUSD went way way south in the last hour probably due to this news from Bild..

I am using FXCM Australia. So far no problem.

In fact 1 day after the Swiss currency debacle where FXCM loss 300 Million USD, my substantial fund withdrawal was as smooth as silk.

Who is looking for better income than FD or UT or anything else, we have one plan with 24% ROI return per annum with capital protection.

It means you can get a guaranteed of 24% return on your capital per annum. Should there be any risk associated with the capital, you will get back your capital.

For example, you invest USD1000, every month you get 2% until 1 year - 24%.
If any risk associated, say in month 4, and you will get back your capital minus the 2%x3 months you have received. In net, you will get back 1k as well.

PM me if anyone is interested.

I think you better target BIG institution like banks. Banks are giving only around 4.XX% on FD so I am pretty sure they will be VERY interested in your proposal.

I'd like to ask comment about my broker. I'm using GDM International. MT4 name is GDMFXFE. Somehow I feel that the spread is a little high. This is my first broker and is intro by my friend. So I'd just like to confirm with you if indeed my gut feel is correct or not.

Example GPBUSD buy 1.54243, sell 1.54281. This is 3.8 pips spread, correct?

The broker service is good so far. Speed of transaction also OK. Usually I buy at market and sell at market.

My priority as follow:
1. A broker who does not trade against me.
2. Reliable broker.
3. Fast execution.
4. Low commission or tight spread.
5. Customer service.

Could you share your experience with brokers you are using now and used in the past. Do you make money? How's the reliability of the broker? Fast execution times? Fees? Customer service? Any other experience you want to share or highlight?

Spread are calculate by bid and ask prices when you execute has to depend on whether
the price are filled up by other traders, MMs etc and they give you the best price

One of my trade of the day. EU.

The other one is GU. (Unfortunately I forgot to take SS for it)

Both using the same method. (Channel + SnR + Candlestick)
I must say, there is no Holy Grail. Sometime, the simplest method is the one that works best.

EU:

Who is looking for better income than FD or UT or anything else, we have one plan with 24% ROI return per annum with capital protection.

It means you can get a guaranteed of 24% return on your capital per annum. Should there be any risk associated with the capital, you will get back your capital.

For example, you invest USD1000, every month you get 2% until 1 year - 24%.
If any risk associated, say in month 4, and you will get back your capital minus the 2%x3 months you have received. In net, you will get back 1k as well.

PM me if anyone is interested.

Yes, sometime I even go down up to M5 if I am able to be in-front of the screen fulltime.

As for the recent USD/JPY trade, I used M30 as I wasn't able to monitor it. Hence I set SL & TP last night & left the trade open overnight.

Basically I trade on pullback.

Has anyone got problem sending money to your forex broker by telegraphic transfer?

Today I encountered a problem. I tried to send to send money to my forex broker but the Maybank bank officer wants to see an invoice or supporting document.

Because of that, I wasn't able to do the telegraphic transfer.

What is the lockdown based on? Just the teller refusing to process or the bank reject the account number? Maybank2u can send TT online. Anyone tried that? I haven't done any deposit since 2009.

Normally, bank will not ask evidence if someone send out money, unless there is a new rule or protocol start to be executed to target to certain accounts. It is not hard to know that those certain accounts are always occupied or used by certain brokers. If this protocol starts from maybank, later can also be found in other banks.

Very nice. Unfortunately, i went the opposite. Thinking it would pullback and went in after the first dive. Hit my sl as it went down again 6 hours later. Thought it was darn low already at 1.1116. Didn't know it could nose dive somemore.
This pair is really hitting the grave..even breaching the psychological 1.1000 barrier low last night.

Ok lar, trailing stop still let you profit. itchy hand to trade on pullback again on psychological resistant level.

I think the sudden uptrust was the ECB chief dishing out goodies with forecast 1.5% GDP growth again gradually and all the QE. Surprisingly after hitting 1.111xx it went south even more than before. Strange .. maybe ppl just disbelieve he has a magic tongkat that would turn EU around.

Sell aud/usd on 2 march 2015 at 0.77773 with no stop loss. and on the next day. Position was auto close at 0.7891 when my graph shows a high of 0.7840. So i make a report on fxprimus support and ask them whether the spread between buy and sel price was that ridicously huge of 51 pips.

THen on the next day, when i check back my account , the trade history of the order (same trade made) has changed and it shows closed at 0.7860 when i didint even touch the account at all. And my account balance originally turn from $0.11 cents to $11 dollars. So i was furious and i ask on live chat fxprimus website what happened with my account. They coudnt give me an answer and say my ticket raised 3 days ago is treated as high priority and up to date they have not gave me an answer.

And today i have checked back my account, i can no longer trace back the first position was auto closed at 0.7891 when the graph did not hit 0.7891. Luckily i took a screenshot and saved a report for myself. You can refer to the screenshot smile.gif .

Now looking for better realibility broker to trade with.

Hi folks, is FXUnited legit ?

I have no interest in forex and am not looking to delve into it anytime soon, but have a friend who told me about it.
He's the gullible type so I'm kinda worried for him.

Initial googling on it didn't give positive results, and the website looks like crap. Thoughts anyone ?

I can't find it's regulators or licenses, no reviews on the net so far,
Their main attraction is WINST PLAN, for like finding more down-line
can earn you more commission, why would any professional trader look
for that in a broker laugh.gif ask your friend deposit $100 and withdraw it after a month laugh.gif

You will want to enter BEFORE news time because when you enter
DURING news time the spreads will be like CRAZY because orders likely
to be filled up by liquidity makers and other traders laugh.gif If you are profitable

Some would trade to avoid days of important fundamentals and economic calendar affecting the pair. Technical traders forgot to check calendar for such important days and got hit by the bus.

obviously you are being bias here. no point when you keep finding question and not answering the problem thats happening. Requotes or mistakes can happen then there is a sudden traffic in trading like news etc, but however in my situation is happens after 2 days. You can say whatever you like , im just sharing with others and finding other reliable broker.

if you can't even trade well on normal time, dont expect you can get anything out of news time, just my 2 cents smile.gif

In my opinion, trading the news is really a double edged sword. You win as easily as you could lose, sometimes there's no telling how the market would react even to obvious news releases. I tend to stay away from news and just focus on normal trading

hello everyone,

i'm new to this thread here, but i do find my good forex buddy in this thread as well smile.gif

Back to last year when i start trading, this thread is what i am looking for to learn about forex, and i found some master in forex here as buddies, thanks to all. I cant deny to be successful in forex is extremely hard, you need dedication, hardwork, and have extreme interest in it.

i'm not active in lowyat obviously, but am more active in ForexFactory, you can find me there with username - stanvy, forgive me if i'm not allowed to post that.. lolx

I've a thread explorer there as well, you can view my entry there, thanks to all here, will post more on my opinion in future, i'm helped by senior member here, and is time for me to give back here as well smile.gif

I don't understand what's with all this IB crap on this forum. If you want to trade forex, you do your own research on brokers, and you apply for an account yourself. If you can surf Lowyat.net, then you are more than capable of applying for an account yourself.

Funding can be done by credit card, if the name on your credit card matches your IC name, funds go through in a few hours time.

When you ask for people to give you a channel, gateway, go under them or whatever, you are making yourself susceptible to scams.

Newbies, if you want to trade with low capital from 100 USD, go to FXPro or Oanda. These brokers win legit awards and have been around a while. When your funds get big enough to worry you, say about RM50k, then only start looking at different platforms, fixed spread, commissions, relationship manager, ECN etc etc etc.

Last but not least, as mentioned millions of times before. If you are a newbie, please please please do demo trading first and learn the platform. Go to babypips and learn WHILE trying on the demo account if you are a newbie. Use any broker with MT4. You will most likely be directed to FOREX.com or FXCM, don't use them, their spreads are high. Go with my suggestions above.

Flame me all you want, but I just see too much bullshit around here.

Edit: And just to add, it is not what banks are blocking funding to brokers. It is the brokers that are flagged. So once again, choose an appropriate broker, not one that promises heaven and earth and rebates and whatnot.

hi,
i'm a newbie in forex, have been trading using demo account from investopedia for a while and now i'm thinking to start with the real account but i want to know stuff like commission, hidden charges, fees, etc.

i have been trading in stock market for couple of years now, and they have several fees and charges, so i'm not sure how it works in forex.

can you help me out with the details or at least point me to some link where i can get the info?

thanks!

50 usd is really too low. Below is the calculation:

Say you wanna open 0.01 lot with 1:20 leverage, you'll need a balance of :
$100,000 x 0.01 / 20 = $50 required as margin. So that leaves you with $0 in your account, ngam ngam margin call.
You should at least put in $500 and risk 2-5% of your account rather than blowing out your account, risking >50% of your account on a single trade. icon_rolleyes.gif

Is that all the leverage they gave you? 1:20? I thought you should be able to go up to 1:50 which is Oanda's max leverage that they will offer.

So what WAS your SL after you placed your trade? Stopped out? BE?

Your next signal of NZDJPY has a SL of more than 70 pips vs a TP of 35 pips less spread. Do you think you are doing people here a favour by giving 'free signals'?

Good trade, a profit is a profit although the numbers don't tally with what you posted. This still does not make a 2:1 SL to TP ratio right. But at end of the day, it is still better than not having a SL at all.

Sounds do-able. We'll see the big news about Fed Interest Rate decision tonight. It is either no hike (which the pair will be at status quo) or rate hike (then USD grows stronger, sending the EURUSD nose dive ..super mega big time).

Already gunning this pair, but of coz with comfortable SL la..

There is a chance that the market has already priced in a no hike and are waiting for the language on the timing of the hike as well..
My guess is, if a statement is issued suggesting that a hike were to happen sooner rather than later, it would be as good as a hike even if there is no hike this round

News will always cause turbulence. After the whirlwind, then it could go back to norm. No matter how much the market would have priced in, there is always a market reaction towards news.

At the current rate, many are saying that the hike will happen 'this year' but might not be so early. Who knows...

You know what is worse than trading news? Trading news without SL and with a broker that does not guarantee SL... I believe we've gone through this many times in this forum. Take this as a lesson that you should never repeat.

It busted my SL as i was already holding a losing short. Good lesson learn here.

Time to rise and shine again..

This time, the folks are saying that rate hike can come anytime, not necessarily during this kind of pre-arranged calendar event. So careful on your long esp on EURUSD..

Do you know why fxprimus start to decline Malaysia account ? I found it when i start to open a practice account as below
https://account.fxprimus.com/en/open-an-acc...ractice-account .
In additional to that, if I enter main fx primus website, there is pop-up window blocking Malaysia IP to see the content of website. The pop-up window refer us to another link based on the reason that they are migrate in order to get CySec regulation. Even though the pop-up window said it last for 1 week, but it has been occurred there more than 3 weeks. My main point is how can a newbie willing to open account if he cannot see and read thru the content of main website ?

Hello traders. I want to ask for opinion. About trading on news.

More often, i see after big news especially eurusd, like nfp and fomc, the market will be very volatile.

But usually and generally, it will move in one big direction, either up or down after the news. Problem is, we seldom can accurately forcast where it will be heading after the figure came out. Up or down? We see many traders lost thier money because they open position hoping to profit in one direction After the news.

To overcome this, could we open buy and sell position before the news, and when we hv confirmed where is the msrket is heading, we close the position tht is against us and let the other one ride the trend?

Example, open buy and sell at the same rate, same allocation and same leverage, when we see sudden jump upwards like 20 - 30 pips after the news, we close the sell position at lost and let the buy ppsition ride the trend.

Theoritically seems plausible. any1 done it before? Or izzit also a recipe for disaster?

So you are saying BUY & SELL @ same price?

(1) Don't think you are able to get same price due to the spreads,

(2) Assuming you are able to get the same entry price for BUY & SELL, then price moves UP by 30-pips and you close SELL position for a loss -30pips. Whether price will continue to move UP is another matter. But every time you will have a REAL LOSS in hand of 30-pips if you trade this method.

Since you plan to close the wrong position AFTER a 30-pips movement, then you might as well wait for the price to move 30-pips either directions and SELL or BUY depending on the moved direction .... meaning only 1 position.

You should look at using BUY-STOP & SELL-STOP.
Say the current price is 1.0050. Set BUY-STOP @ 1.0080 & SELL-STOP @ 1.0020.

Just my opinion, though.

but-stop/sell-stop is a good suggestion, but only if you get the right spot as your reference point as your current price before the result.

During the NFP minutes before the result, the price goes up and down like a massive yoyo. Some any much as 15 to 20pips. If one is unlucky and in the wrong end of the fluctuation, your buy/sell stop would have triggered wrongly. Nevertheless, this can be mitigated with large pip range for buy/sell stops. NFP usually can push out 100pip, so its ok, you can still net some good pips.

There are quite a few strategy around, some would suggest to jump in after the initial announcement to know the direction, wait for a short retract (many would reap initial profit) but still in that general direction of pips gain, then you can still go in for further pips as it will regain traction. This doesn't work for many and i've experienced the situation is too intense that MT4 just fail to get anymore update for minutes.

My suggestion of BUY-STOP/SELL-STOP is directed to his original suggestion of having 2 opposite positions.
Take note that it is not a suggested technique to trade on news. In fact I don't trade on news.

this strategy has a fail proof...

if every time u do this, the only way profit is the exit timing.... entry time no problem..

some ppl play swing in this way...

alright, thanks for your info. My past relationship manager is no longer active in forex. I asked online chat, their response was always not helpful and seem like don't know and behave as "don't care" much about the issue. Ask in this forum is much more helpful because many experts (sifu) here.

Yes, until i realized I was more profitable in a slow and steady way
without the news, news gives us thrill, gives us pips but in a long
run you are just gambling with the acc, not really advisable,
spreads and volatility just eats off your profits laugh.gif

You open a buy AND a sell position at the same price is NO DIFFERENT from sitting on your hands and not trading at all. But you are on the losing end because of paid spreads for the 2 orders.

If you absolutely HAVE to trade the news, your idea of letting your winning position ride the trend and closing the losing position is exactly the same as opening a trade in the market direction AFTER the news. If you can't see this, then I don't know what to say.

This is correct.

This way of trading is called Straddling.

The downside to this is the huge spreads applied to currency pairs and also slippage. At the release of big news, there will ALWAYS be increased spread and slippage. This means your buy-stop might end up being triggered at 1.0095 and your sell-stop being triggered at 1.0005. This gets more dramatic at news releases like NFP.

Another downside is whip saw action at news release which will trigger BOTH buy and sell stops with huge spreads and bad slippage, leaving you with a huge loss before market even starts to move at all.

Sorry, may I know what happened to Alpari recently as I've been using them for a while now with lil problems - deposit/withdrawal was smooth.

However, I've only been with them for a short 3 months at the moment so any sharing on it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I was however told Alpari UK and its other counterpart (Russia/Mauritius) are different?

Any way I can find out more and is InstaFx or XM the way to go then?

Personally i think that market is running a major retracement so I'm looking forward for NZDUSD (might have a short at 0.7807)cuz still doesnt seem like having any sign of bull for kiwi and still bias on bull for dollar but not so strong since the last FOMC smile.gif

Can you show me a SAMPLE of how myfxbook display the historical performance of trades? TQ.

EDIT:

I managed to see your earlier post #306 (13-Mar-2015) with the performance chart. Is this the one you were referring?

One question ... what is the difference between Equity Growth (yellow line) & Growth (red line) on the performance chart?

Yes, this is the one I'm referring to. To put it simply, equity growth is your floating profit/losses of a running trade while growth is the final value when the trade has been closed. So the equity line is important to show how unstable a person's trading style is eg. high/low drawdown. As you can see from my chart there, there was a point where I had a very large drawdown as shown by the yellow line. It was a stupid and huge gamble of mine at that time laugh.gif

I shouldn't go for fx union? This is FX Union Markets. Any difference? or have the person opened this has no creativity on making company names. This website is as below,
http://www.fxum.com/home

FXUM is based in NZ, and registered under NZ Financial Service Provider. It fairly new, created this year. The reason I'm asking is because my money manager wanted to change the current forex broker to this.
From background research (mostly googling) , I don't feel comfortable with this FXUM...

Why you still choose it if you feel uncomfortable?
Choose the one you feel confident after did research. Coz there are a lot broker company can be found online, pls don't simply make decision.

You might wanna look up on ICMarkets. I've started trading live with them and their performance pretty much matches their demo trading experience. Very happy with them so far rclxms.gif

Please don't. One week of trading is hardly enough experience. I myself thought of jumping into real trading after a week of trading demo due to a good week, but little did I know there was a lot of unfamiliar market movements I didn't experience yet. So I would recommend a few months of trading demo in order to really familiarize yourself. Think of it this way, once you have managed to achieve 100% gain with a low drawdown of <10% then you can consider doing real trading icon_rolleyes.gif Else you're highly likely to burn all your cash away.

While I agree that one week is not enough at all, I suggest at least 6 months demo.

But having said that, more is learnt when dealing with real money because trading is more mental than it is technical. You are bound to burn money if you choose to trade. You might burn your account once, twice, or even 10 times. Experience comes with time, and discipline comes from losses. Winning does not discipline you, losing does.

So what I am trying to say is, stick to demo in the beginning but don't stay for too long as some may advise. Once you get to a point where you KNOW what you're doing, jump straight to real money. And be prepared to learn what greed, fear, ego and also technical and fundamental stuffs that the world of forex brings. =)

Good point, it also helps to treat your demo account as if you're trading with real cash. Learning do deal with all that kan-cheong-ness will really help prepare you for the real deal.

Problem is, that can never be done because you know it not not real. A small $100 real account does wonders to one's emotions compared to a $100 demo account.

Well that really depends on the person tongue.gif For me, I traded a $5k demo account for more than 3 months and went through sleepless nights wondering whether my trade would be successful when I wake up biggrin.gif Also experienced the ecstasy of winning (like on cloud 9) and the depths of despair when I lose laugh.gif

One week is not enough for learning skill. Learn with demo acc is the same. At least u need to have some basic education about forex, learn graph and insert graph function urself. That's is the most useful.

Yea... Problem with that. If I use it to trade myself the risk is higher. I'd rather have consistent profit than earn big and go bust. Hence why I choose a money manager to allocate more experienced and knowledgeable trades. So far so good until they decide to change broker. But anyway, I'll play safe and get 80% of my capital out, and let them continue with the 20%.
*
That'd be a wise move, mind sharing which fund manager you're using and is it akin to those PAMM by the brokers or is it 3rd party?

I'm interested to try em out too if you don't mind sharing more sweat.gif

Thanks

Been trying to move into this area for a long time. But with studies and intern now I can't find the time to study this whole thing myself and with no guidance.

Was approached on T1FX with M2 system for "automatic trading" but I just don't feel safe somehow. Any recommendation / pointers if I were to invest small first?

Not sure about auto trade system of your interested broker. My broker would not recommend us to activate EA system for small acc. EA system only recommended for 30k and above acc due to system will be very aggressive trade sometimes, acc may burst due to limited capital.

Normally broker would not support you in education and market signal. Only grouping and sharing may help.

Technical trading is not that difficult. You just need experience and familiarize yourself with how the price moves a.k.a price action. If you don't wanna lose all your money gained in forex due to unforeseen circumstances like what happened during the CHF crisis, take out 50% of your profit gained at the end of every profitable month. Stock trading on the other hand needs alot of background research on a company, worry whether tomorrow malaysia will bankcrupt, etc. tongue.gif

Should be easy to reach 1.07, after that expect some retracement and range market before breaking through to 1.05.

Let's be realistic .... if $5 might as well just trade on demo account.
Even RM1800 is also consider small capital.

When you have small capital, it is going to affect you emotionally when you trade.
I started with US$3,000, and I still think it is still low.

It is not all about money.

You can start with as much as you want or as little as you like.

But can your trading experience, skill and techniques preserve your capital? That can only be answered by you through your falling and getting up again year after year In trading. If you're chasing money you going to loose money in the market.

I see a lot of people thinking that trading forex as a quick game, no, it is a long process. But those who stick around long enough, congratulations wink.gif

Well, i would advise those who want to start trading to not to start with demo.

You can start with $50 or even $20 just to get the feel. Burn your account and do it again & learn.

Just get a regulated broker. Plenty around to choose..
my advise might sound stupid, but a lot of IB want you to open account with them and get quick buck from you.

My advice again, explore by yourself.

May be this oldman talk shit to much already smile.gif

Let me attach my 'live little account' to get my itchy fingers to trade to fulfill my trading urge.

Btw i trade future now... long time left forex wink.gif

depends on what broker. and what type of account. Ofcourse ECN type won't be that minimum. Well, Forex is real business. Investing on $5 and expect it to grow will take some times.

But believe it or not. Growing 2000% using $5 in one week is possible. It doesn't mean $5 can easily burst account like "someone" said. blush.gif

Nobody use "social- based" forex broker?

Another fast way to understand trading is by copying experts. See how they trade, copy their trades while learning why they open or close the trades. AT the same time, learn about technical indicators. But of course we need to identify a good trader first.

That is how i started, by "learning through example" first. Now my return is always better than the person i copied.
