I got and accepted offered a zero revolution plan Samsung TV 50" RM1 every month for 36 mtns replacing the free 6 months bill.
*
they mentioned the offer to me RM1 tv too sweat.gif but too bad i dont need a new TV laugh.gif

QUOTE(gcwc @ Nov 19 2024, 10:13 PM)
I think you can walk into any maxis centre and ask about the 1gbps deal.. saw that in one of the maxis centre poster. Also don't forget when you sign up for 1gbps, you can add-on devices or tv at a much cheaper rate too wink.gif
*
ya, the maxis call back also tell me 1GBps offer i think less than 180, just that because is for my parent house internet usage, 30Mbps/100Mbps is more than sufficient haha, to minimize the cost of fiber is my goal biggrin.gif
my own house i still using Unifi 800Mbps @ RM99 (bundle with UnifiTV Ultimate legacy plan) sweat.gif gobind era til now

Should be legit, I was offered with 8 months free and after that 129 for 300Mbps perpetually.
The free months are still running.

Technically you can but not recommend cause it's not that reliable and the speed drop is very significant

with maxis 100mbps, wont need high speed due to old people using

an extender is better than a mesh node? because the maxis router has to be using right

I will switch to a better router rather than using a cheap mesh or extender solution.

It's way more reliable as most low end mesh system are plagued with high loaded latency issues, bad for WiFi calls.

And mesh / repeater means you need to deal with roaming issue which almost all low end system are bad at it.

can, just set up VLAN and PPPoE on your router

but you lose VoIP and 4G Backup if you have/use those
(VoIP could be setup again by connecting stock router to your router)

Yes you can replace it with almost any router out there actually.

ok, i recall the ppoe username password is something like this
acocunt-number@home.maxis.com.my /account-number1

setup vlan means? not just replace new router and remove maxis router then choose maxis profile and input ppoe username and password? sweat.gif

If you buy an ASUS router, you can route VOIP back to the Maxis router

yes, choosing that profile = setting up vlan

the profiles are just preconfigured for you, otherwise you would manually key in vlan id

It is going be my first time to subscribe to Maxis Home Fibre 100 Mbps service (RM 89.00). I plan to add RM 10.00 / mth for unlimited calls.

I want just internet service and phone service.

1) Correct me, if I am wrong. The monthly subscription fee is RM 104.95 (which is RM 99.00 with 6% service tax), right?

2) For Maxis Home Fibre 100 Mbps service, is it true that I receive the equipment form Maxis?

- Modem (comprising either the Optical Network Terminal (“ONT”) or Broadband Termination Unit (“BTU”) as the case may be).
- WiFi 6 certified router.
- Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication Phone (“DECT”) phone.

3) How many electrical power sockets do I need, for Maxis Home Fibre service?

Thank you for your advice. smile.gif

2 power sockets are required, 3 if your line phone is using wireless one.
