QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Jul 9 2022, 07:13 PM) it was good deal to me even if nett device price did not differ much. the SIM plan is special, as it taps into my shared pool that otherwise is underutilised. ic. that's quite a good deal.https://www.maxis.com.my/en/faq/devices/sma...id-tablet-plan/ Maxis Postpaid Tablet Plan Plan 18; comes with quota for its own use only. Buy more data if finished. Plan 28; comes with quota that adds to the shared pool of mainline. only available for Apple tablets purchased from Maxis. I already paid 24mth, but can continue to maintain the RM28 line. The tablet line is part of your account, but does not count as a supplementary line. maxis limits the number of supplementaries based on your primary plan level. in my case postpaid 128, i have 2 supplementaries AND a tablet plan, don't need to upgrade to postpaid 158 (3 supplementaries). E.g. main postpaid 128 have 70GB to share, 2 supplementaries add 60GB, tablet SIM adds another 30GB; so total available for all SIMs in the pool is 160GB. If sign up fibre, then pool becomes unlimited. (but, FUP total for all mobiles in the account is 300GB) i actually signed up the maxis fibre last week when they first release this deal. i did not select any device becos i cannot figure out if it is worth it. anyway, my main purpose to sign up the maxis fibre broadband is not to really switch to maxis fibre broadband but just want to get the transfer request id to bargin with tm for better deal to staywithunifi (i am existing unifi user without contract). so come back to revisit this deal to see if it is worth it or not. i think i am interested i will need to wait for the transfer request id to be cancelled first and sign up again. or unless maxis allowed me to add this to my original sign up. |

QUOTE(westlife @ Jul 9 2022, 07:34 PM) yes.i think there's a cooldown of 3mths if not mistaken for fresh meat. but otherwise, just need credit check. if you did this in maxis centre, re-approach the sales and ask to add to your fibre "purchase order". maybe no fuss if add outright. add: there is a cooldown of 3mths to the next zerolution device. e.g. i add iphone and watch on 1st feb, so i can't get another device until after 3mths. i get TV in july, so next device contract - if i want more - is only available in october. QUOTE(westlife @ Jul 9 2022, 08:02 PM) 1 line, 1 device, subject to credit check and 3mths cooldown in-between.last year i could not take any despite multiple checks. even asked to pay certain amount upfront to rebate back. but last year i still have contract for Samsung S10+ and A-something, this year already cleared; probably that's why this year can take new devices without issue. |

What happened to Maxis Fibre network recently? Pings used to be under 5ms from Perak now at least double from what they used to be 2 months ago? ![]() ![]() I thought my fibre line kaput already but it turned out the first 2 hops no changed from what is used to be the entire problem now starts from 4th hop which is 58.71.243.49 regional router of yours. Did your competent engineers who managed your broadband network last time all left the company already? It's been months since April until now your network started to become lame like this. Too many signups? Overcongested already? Everybody switching from Unifi? Your technicians sleeping? Staffed outsourced already and no replacements? Laying off your workforce? My pings used to be only less than 5ms earlier this year to KL/Subang/Cyberjaya servers. Now I'm getting no less than 12ms everyday which it used to me my pings to Singapore. Stop sleeping and please wake up to investigate this seriously? |

My Singapore server pings used to be under 15ms AT MOST to most of their major servers, StarHub, MyRepublic, ViewQwest, i3D, OVH, M247, Newmedia Express.
Now ah? Over 20ms on average daily. What the fish, Maxis? Just around 150km to KL/Cyberjaya up north but pings now doubled to oblivion? 2 months already suffering like this when will it end? |

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Jul 14 2022, 08:28 PM) If you are still gonna stay 30mbps, maybe Celcom is the cheapest currently. Their 30mbps is just RM80 monthly. Thank you for the info bro. Celcom also seems to give 1 month fee waiver. Yep, likely to stay with 30mbps speed as it is used for browsing plus a bit of youtube only. This post has been edited by zeng: Jul 14 2022, 10:27 PM |

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Jul 9 2022, 04:10 PM) I took the up 70" Sharp AndroidTV on 36mth Zerolution. Waiting delivery ETA next weekend. Also waiting for 2 mesh routers to be delivered as well. U took only fibre plan or together with their mobile plan in order to get the TV?The Samsung ones are SmartTV on Tizen, not acceptable if Samsung stops supporting. Was on 100Mbps RM129. Have existing rebates from sign up promotion, but Centre staff said still eligible to continue after upgrade speed plan. If remain 100Mbps RM129, Zerolution RM100. Projected damage = +RM100/mth If upgrade to 300Mbps RM149, Zerolution RM80. Projected damage = +RM100/mth If upgrade to 500Mbps RM219, Zerolution RM21. Projected damage = +RM111/mth So I upgraded to 500Mbps. No brainer to get more Mbps for similar +damage. 36mth is not big deal as this is fibre, bukan nak tukar-tukar pun, especially the alternatives will end up still on same HSBB. |

QUOTE(blibala @ Jul 15 2022, 11:14 AM) been leveraging zerolution to replace devices as they age.since i'm staying on maxis for long term, might as well leverage cheaper price than buying full RRP upfront. the line still have to subscribe regardless on device. was enjoying the same with celcom's and digi's equivalent, but i've abandoned them for they fully insists on paying large amount upfront and must use ccard autodebit; what for being contracted but no different than buying the phone outright. |
