got an offer for rm128 10mbps for maxis postpaid users

im currently using 5mbps unifi paying 140++ per month and seriously considering the maxis offer, but reading the reviews here seems like maxis has still not mature in its service and stability in connection?

yeah u have to pay rm20 per month but get rm30 called credit they said
but the telephone service is optional.. better save some bucks there.
but weirdly, my phone plan still used the older plan which is under rm1 since i reluctantly used it to called, but just receiving  called..
so its not my fault anyways, and since it under rm1, i always pay that bills first then astro..  rclxm9.gif

actually i need the telephone number, to send n receive fax, don really need to call. but i guess. there's no way not to pay the rm20 should i need to send n receive fax. right?

wan to check any 1 using maxis fiber with astro IPTV? i had a dilemma of choosing between unifi and maxis fiber. currently my astro comes with pvr + satellite dish. I saw there's promo where apply maxis fiber and get rebate off the astro for RM 25 per month. the downside is i had to change to IPTV, cant use the satellite. But my astro decoder is downstair and my fiber is upstair, i really dont wanted to pull another cable. I saw tp-link there's device powerline or something. any 1 using similar setup?

It's best to avoid having astro IPTV with maxis ftth.

Just two days before chinese new year the dsl line is down, and I do not have internet access for 10 days!

Imagine if my astro is on maxis ftth, I would have to stare at the wall for 10 days, no internet, no astro.

And best to avoid having maxis ftth at all, unifi is the best.

When dsl line down, they would tell you they can't do anything, they have to wait for TM guy. I do not believe this. The truth is Maxis themselves has limited on site technician who is covering a big area. The problem lies with Maxis.

Is there a quota now? I just registered for 20 Mbps and the lady at the center said there's 200GB quota. After quota finishes, the speed will drop down to 1 Mbps.

You never see when installing Maxis FTTH that TM technician follow them also? TM owns the poles and ports and fibre, Maxis just piggy backs on the existing infrastructure.

Yeah, Maxis is just leasing the infrastructure from TM and hence they need to follow the schedule and appointment availabilities given by TM.

However, if you are in pure Maxis built, the service is excellent. If you dislike it so much, why not switch to UniFi? smile.gif

Maxis always use TM as excuses for late service.

The fact is one Maxis onsite technician is given a whole big area, having a long list of appointments daily.

Even if TM guy is free, Maxis cannot cope, saving cost with one technician covering so many places.

If you don't believe, next time when Maxis technician come over your place, peak at the long list he has on the paper.

This is not discussion about switching to unifi.

This is about Maxis lackluster service which could be improved further.

By the way, do not be one sided.

Have you heard the story of Maxis onsite technician threaten to disconnect customer internet connection for 3 weeks? Is that acceptable by any standard? That is the kind of onsite Maxis technician you're served with, incompetence and arrogance.

It's ok for you to be a fanboy. This does not mean we cannot criticized Maxis, and when we tell our true personal experience, you're quick to ask to switch ISP.

After experiencing maxis ftth, if I can turn back time, I would choose unifi. But since now I am with maxis, I'll stick with it for the time being, I'll change when I decided enough is enough. So I believe it's my right to tell someone who is deciding between maxis and unifi to go for the later. Please give a little respect, TQ.

Who is the one being one sided? doh.gif
I had my share of bad experience with TM back with Streamyx and early UniFi days.

Not being a fan boy, but it's just sad that you aren't living in Maxis built area laugh.gif
Besides, as a consumer; you do have choice to choose other alternatives. Being said that, if you ever used P1; you'll go crazy. It is a truly horror ride.

Heard of you pay what you get? cool2.gif

TM service quality has improved much after 2008, but I am stuck with Maxis for the time being since there is no UniFi here.

I've been with streamyx before. I've been early adopter on Maxis FTTH as well, remember the browsing was slower than streamyx. So the maxis Thomson router engineer came over, I patiently showing him what the problem with, replicating the issue so he can find a way to solve it. Wasting many hours that is not supposed my work.

It's the overall service of maxis that badly need improvement. Leaving the connection down for 10 days is not acceptable at all. And relying on incompetent onsite technician make it worst.

Appreciate your help thus far, let's put off the fire.

I am sure you agreed with me there are lots of room for improvement with maxis service.

You get what you pay for? Not very sure when it comes to internet in Malaysia. Been to Cambodia? Been there and found the report that their average speed is faster than Malaysia is true.

hi there, thanks for your help. but it is not i'm looking for. need a conventional fax line... as i already have a fax machine.. from what i see thru redtone, is sending fax... i'm also looking for receiving fax...

regarding p1, i'm 1 of the disgruntled user. been on p1 fiber for rm99 for 2 year.... previously i'm verbally agreed that the price stay on rm99 even contract expired.. but once my contract expired, they inform that will charge me rm149 (normal price). i'm tempted to change to maxis as i noe 148 for 10mbps n get rm25 rebate for astro.. but in the end i did not, cos i wish to retain my number n i have to use astro iptv... until last month... p1 inform me that they are discontinuing the fiber service n since they merge wit TM... it will convert my plan to RM 199 5mbps plan... without asking my permission. thus i straight cancel it and they said would require to wait for a month to take effect. and now, still surveying for the replacement of the ISP...
