Sincerely sick and tired of streamyx. My ping won't stop jumping from 25-37 all the way to 500-900 every 10 seconds during game, download speed is never consistent, and usually 10-15% of promised speed.

Really interested in the RM148 for 10MBps but I would like to know anyone here in the Bangsar/KL area uses it, and is it stable? And what's the average download speed.

And is it worth it jumping to the Maxis One plan from my current RM78/5GB plan for the rebate? Contract is over so I can pretty much shift to other plans.

Just change to Maxis, it's actually good provided if your installation is done professionally and you are there to ensure that the installation was done in a proper way. Just don't sign off the service acceptance agreement if you are not satisfy with the workmanship done to ensure that your service don't break down right after it is installed. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Yeah, Maxis is just leasing the infrastructure from TM and hence they need to follow the schedule and appointment availabilities given by TM.

However, if you are in pure Maxis built, the service is excellent. If you dislike it so much, why not switch to UniFi? smile.gif

Who is the one being one sided? doh.gif
I had my share of bad experience with TM back with Streamyx and early UniFi days.

Not being a fan boy, but it's just sad that you aren't living in Maxis built area laugh.gif
Besides, as a consumer; you do have choice to choose other alternatives. Being said that, if you ever used P1; you'll go crazy. It is a truly horror ride.

Heard of you pay what you get? cool2.gif

TM service quality has improved much after 2008, but I am stuck with Maxis for the time being since there is no UniFi here.

Hi guys, I have a few questions.

I stay in BU12 and apparently it's a Maxis-only area and there's no Unifi. I'm wondering if anyone staying in BU11 or BU12 can tell me if the connection's good in our area?

Also for the package, can I skip Astro and just get the fiber? Will it be more than RM148 if I just get fiber 10mbps and not take Astro? Was told by my friend that maybe Maxis will charge more if I don't take their Astro iptv package.

I'm really frustrated with the lack of Internet here and the most annoying part is my phone seem to have trouble with Maxis' signal here.

The service is good there and the line is extremely smooth brows.gif brows.gif
Just beware of thunderstorm though, cause they often fry the modem if you have poor electrical wiring. laugh.gif
But then again, service is efficient.

Maxis routing is horrible!

While playing dota2,
My friends unifi ping to australia is around 230ms
My Maxis fibre ping to australia is around 500ms

Is there anything i can do?
*

You should probably switch to public IP if you haven't. I am getting around 290ms

i have a problem why do i keep buffering on my 30mb on twitch???

Somehow, they have quite bad connection to Twitch. No idea why. If you use a Singapore VPN, then you'll have no issues with Maxis actually. sweat.gif

BU 12 is under Maxis AFAIK. You should not be riding on TM in that area.

After few days of findings thru Maxis staff I can now conclude that once the Maxis router NG, what u can do is either cancel ur current line & reapply new line or get an after market router which u lost ur VOIP.

This is what I feel from Maxis: "Pls reapply new line or GTFO to settle ur own shyt."

Totally speechless to Maxis service  shakehead.gif  doh.gif  notworthy.gif  yawn.gif

It's free for replacement, just lodge a report to them and send pictures to them with your reference case number. sweat.gif

I seem to have a lot of issues when it comes to Uplay and Ubisoft games. I cannot connect at all to their games, while no problems with other online games.

Should get own custom router as default router have some issues with UPnP on games like Warframe.

Otherwise, try using DMZ function to your gaming machine. It should work provided you are using public IP from Maxis.

If you guys didn't know, ISPs perform network upgrade/maintenance during window time from 0000 hours to 0600 hours because that's the least impacted service affecting for customers.

Be it UniFi, Maxis or Ohana, it's all the same. If you are facing issue past midnight, it's probably work is being done somewhere to upgrade/fix issues. smile.gif

Holy jesus.
The ping is so high and you still satisfied with it.I bet you are a Maxis worker.
STUPID EVER.
Every gamer know that the most important for online gaming is the ping.
Even you have 100Mbps speed, but with a ping like this. You won't be able to play a game.
Stop saying that your Maxis line is okay. You feel okay is because you never play online game.
*
And from your post, you clearly didn't look at the location of the server when performing speedtest. Go try and find any ISP that will give you <100ms to US.

this the  "workaround" currently what i do (remote access software & VPN) doh.gif  ....
just wonder any other way can direct open the router  login page by browserfrom WAN which is  same like  Ohana (another ISP).
actually my final plan is set a mail server, using DMZ feature at router side forward packets from router to mail server

another story,  i found that both Maxis & Ohana not provided addtional public IP like Unifi, example if using fixed IP Unifi , my unifi router get the public IP 17x.xxx.xxx.133, and then my device (server/pc/firewall) which is connecting to router with LAN Port1 will get the public ip  17x.xxx.xxx.134, but the disadvantage is router Lan port 2,3,4 cannot be used for other PC/acess point/router
*
Are you subscribing fixed IP or dynamic IP? I have one fixed IP service in my office and they provide router IP and user IP, similar to UniFi. You also can get additional IPs at extra cost.

As long there's no packet loss to the destination and from the source, it means that packets get sent to the server and client correctly and that's not a problem.
The 100% packet loss you see indicates that the hops blocks ICMP packets or have network firewall.
Don't assume based on what you see.

Yes, you have two public fixed IPs.

Say your fixed IP is 123.123.123.123, which is your router IP; your user IP is 123.123.123.124 / subnet 255.255.255.252 by default.

If you have more IPs, then the subnet value is lower.
