exactly.
when i paid for 5G access, the intent is for that 5G access, not for the extra data.
now that 5G is made accessible freely to those who didn't even switch plan or get add-on, it's only fair that npbody should need to pay that RM11 any further.

anyway, add that RM11 scam to the list that will affect decision whether to continue with maxis fibre in future...
*
Were you allow to downgrade plan or does the new postpaid have contract?

I am already on 500. Free upgrade to 1mbps? I don’t need this speed. Haha
*
Similar to Unifi, if you don't need the upgraded speed you'll have to change plan with 2 years recontract.

QUOTE(trent666 @ Oct 27 2023, 12:36 PM)
TLDR: If you are on RM89 30mbps, switch to Unifi now because Maxis will not give you a free upgrade.

I've called Maxis and confirmed that they will not match TM's offer. They want RM99 for 100mbps.

Celcomdigi only offers RM89 for 100mbps if you take up their postpaid mobile plan.

Therefore, the only logical choice for cheapest 100mbps now is Unifi (RM89 forever), before they raise prices to RM99.
*
Yes agree. But those still in contract will be the victim as they neither can switch to Unifi without penalty nor getting any free upgrade.
100mbps and above will be upgraded without any extra cost.

QUOTE(nrw @ Oct 27 2023, 04:39 PM)
After reading the FAQ I agree and believe the situation might turn out to be the following

1) They will very likely be providing a new ONT with 2.5GbE (on all ports).

2) For 2Gbps they will be providing the 6E router with at least 2x2.5GbE ports (1x WAN and 1x LAN) as they claim 2Gbps LAN speed.
So no TM solution of an ONR without actual 2.5GbE capabilities. That's good news if true.

3) What is also to be seen is if the new MultiGig ONT is also given to 1Gbps customers. Perhaps it will be but the WiFi 6 router won't come with MultiGig ports.

Got to wait for official clarification on this.
*
Are they allowed to do so on TM infra? That we shall see.

QUOTE(tropik @ Oct 27 2023, 05:30 PM)
Staff at Maxis just told me to call 1800 82 1230.

The guy on the other side said can match unifi offer, but I asked for public IP too which he said its chargable.

Told him to proceed with my transfer....

Then gotten email from TM saying my transfer request approved.

PS: was told to pay current unbilled month in advance, which later will be prorated and any balance can be claimed via Maxis website (search for refund). I havent done so but the approved email was received anyway from TM.
*
Same case as Unifi. You want to port out need to pay 1 month advance, balance will be refunded.

Is that against MSAP if they didn’t reduce the price? sweat.gif
*
If they don't upgrade 30mbps users, by right price should be reduce. Otherwise, you can lodge report to MCMC.

Is tm 100mpbs to 300mbps will get dynamic ip?

Hi, I can't reach full speed of the promised 100mbps package, speedtest always capped at 93-95mbps max. even with LAN

i know it's not a major annoyance, but is there any ways to get the full 100mbps experience?
*
It is typical if you are on TM infra.

QUOTE(blibala @ Oct 29 2023, 12:21 AM)
Then with same RM139 price, would better get unifi 300mbps now for better tech support and new router
*
Definitely. Somemore can get free 6 months if do transfer through Unifi agent

Moving to other place that is not within TM infra..especially Maxis NGBB..i remember someone post in YT...he get 750mbps for download speed with 300mbps plan in NGBB infra..the infra already everywhere in taman area include East Coast...just that it not worth it just for internet usage...if house over there is far from your workplace.. other tips, transfer back to Unifi...also, i see people use Astro Fibre in TM infra don't have speed cap issue much..i do believe it just Maxis being cheapskate to pay full bandwidth fee to TM...or Astro get special treatment for buying routing bandwidth from TM...after all, Astro Fibre is the only fibre ISP that depend routing 100% from TM..someone use Celcom Fibre in TM infra don't have speed cap issue..to this day it is still unknown why Maxis Fibre in TM infra get speed cap...if you subs 30mbps..when speedtest get 27~28mbps download speed...that 7% less speed...did math..imagine 2Gbps in TM infra..speed cap 7%..1,860mbps for download speed..who knows.. laugh.gif
*
My Digi fibre gets exactly 99mbps on TM infra all this while. However for upload seems higher around 52 to 54mbps. I can confirm it is not cable issue as I was from Unifi before and getting over 100mbps.

QUOTE(megakeygen_zero @ Oct 29 2023, 07:38 PM)
come to think about it, my workplace and dad's place are both on 100mbps unifi, no problem getting more than 100mbps.
oh well, gotta live with it. bangwall.gif
I live alone and it's (almost) more than enough
*
Yes, it has been like that except if you are lucky enough the technician configure your speed slightly higher.

Still have 23 months contract left. How to jump.
*
Just stay on since breaching the contract will incur heavy penalty. When the upgrade starts in November try to negociate with Maxis. If not possible for upgrade at least get price reduction.

QUOTE(Xanxeviera. @ Oct 30 2023, 12:23 AM)
back then in 2020, TM launched Winback campaign where TM will cover your penalties if you switch to Unifi from another ISP

Who knows they might bring it back considering they have major advantage in MSAP Pricing.

https://soyacincau.com/2020/06/02/tm-unifi-...ome-back-offer/
*
Back then termination penalty is RM500. Nowadays Maxis follows TM whereby termination fee have to pay remaining months. It is costly for TM to cover. Imagine RM89*23 months, that run into rm2000 just for 1 user only.

QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ Oct 30 2023, 11:44 AM)
I thought that is because Maxis has to pay the penalty to TM?
So, TM could just pay you, you pay Maxis, Maxis pays it back to TM
Money stays goes back to them
*
I don't think it is because Maxis need to pay TM.

QUOTE(blibala @ Oct 30 2023, 12:35 PM)
In fact all these penalty thing shall be abolished. And it shall be contract free service to all.

What if telco dont provide good service but we cant terminate the contract? Just like Maxis now every night also damn slow youtube also buffering. Complaining to them they said their line is ok.
*
Unifi also slowed down during peak hour, maybe not to Youtube but when you access international sites you will feel it.

QUOTE(Quanta @ Oct 30 2023, 01:16 PM)
I did face with this issue, and I quickly upgrade it to public IP and all issues resolved. Maybe CGNAT is congested.

Indeed. same as Unifi CGNAT users experiencing bad connection

Existing 30Mbps can only get 100Mbps upgrade by paying additional RM10/mth, this is ridiculous

Better jump to Unifi 30Mbps RM89 if contract ends
*
Unifi rm89 100mbps. No more 30mbps except for perpaduan plan.

QUOTE(sl!mer @ Oct 31 2023, 03:14 PM)
Walk in at TM this morning.
they cannot generate transfer request (house no not showing) and port is full. He say try go maxis terminate then come back apply unifi. doh.gif
but got risk, port may be assigned to other people.

then went to another TM point, they say same thing but allow me to apply 1st.
offer 2 package
1st package 300mbps at RM129 (6 month no need pay anything)
2nd 100Mbps at RM89.
*
Maybe you can take photo of the TM box outside your house and show to them. They should be able to create your address in their system.
Do not terminate otherwise port taken.

Even time fibre is a mess
But their marketing and promotion strategies are horrendously bad

QUOTE(ArmedandDangerous @ Nov 1 2023, 06:30 PM)
If existing Maxis customer, free speed upgrade is without contract.

For his case, it is port out offer, so will have contract same as Unifi.

when i signed up ~1.5yr ago, one of selling point is no renew contract if [upgrade within contract] OR [up/downgrade outside contract].

lose 1 selling point if maxis also start following unifi [recontract regardless up/downgrade].
*
Best to enquire with them first, if existing contract still carry on then worth to consider the upgrade.

RM89 gang. Here's how to get a free upgrade to 100mbps.

1. Initiate the transfer process, get transfer ID, then Call 1800821230
2. Say you want to transfer to Unifi
3. They will offer you free upgrade within 24 hours, no contract

You are welcome.

Rant: Maxis really CCB waste my time. If they had just gave an auto upgrade like TM, then I would not have researched and initiated the transfer process.

When I called two weeks ago, they said I have to pay RM99 for 100mbps.

They only made me an offer after I obtained a transfer ID. Really 🐍. If anyone offers me RM88 for Digi or Unifi, I will switch.
*
Great sharing. Anyone interested can also pm.

I thought of switching to Allo after contract ended, however I've seen people mentioning their service in Johor is incredibly unreliable, DC multiple times a week

Guess I'm going to stick with Maxis
*
So far how reliable is Maxis routing compared to Unifi? I am considerring the free 6 months promo, but seems like Unifi also has not much advantage now after they slowly revise public IP offer to 500mbps plan.

Been using Maxis for 2 years, Unifi and Time 1 year
So far, my Maxis only DC-ed twice since installation, first being a fiber cut and 2nd is nationwide outrage. Unlike Unifi I've never encountered service upgrade related DC.
Routing wise, Maxis is better than Time to China
Gaming thou, Unifi gets better ping if I'm playing on NA server
Overall, I would get Maxis over Unifi, especially when promotion is around.
*
How about torrenting over Maxis? And which part of Maxis promo attracted you the most?

I switched out of UNIFI after non stop, daily complaints that were ignored for 2 years

Started just as Covid lockdown started, never returned to normal until I left in 2022

Summary of issues below

Maxis so far no issues

It also happened with my brother's Unifi during that COVID and after.
He keeps asking me how to fix it because he always watch some series from the US and UK servers and Unifi routing always overloaded especially on peak time.

After that, he gave up and now becoming a Maxis customer.
No complaints whatsoever.
🤣🤣🤣
*
Thanks for all feedback. Was on Unifi until 2021 and I switch to Digi fibre. Now that the new Celcom Digi is not attractive anymore, Maxis and TM has the same promo to welcome users to switch over. Both has offer of RM129 free 6 months for 300mbps or rm89 free 3 months for 100mbps. Unsurprisingly both also no public IP which I already live without for the past 2 years.

Just switch to Unifi and enjoy free 3 months for 100mbps if you still need the internet. If terminated later port taken, hard for you to re-register again.
Meanwhile, I am waiting my transfer to Maxis 100mbps.

I have home fiber 500mbps bundled with Postpaid line
I got the offer to upgrade to 800mbps in the app
But I want to maintain my speed and pay less.
The cs being paticularly annoying say cannot cause it'll unbundle if I recontact my fiber to new pricing without upgrade.
Gonno go the maxis center to sort it out..
So bodo
*
The free upgrade follow Unifi style. Either you upgrade for free or maintain speed but have to change to new plan. But I agree it is quite stupid that they don't allow to change fibre plan bundled with postpaid.

Is the Huawei LG-8245 able to change DNS? If yes, where in the page to find it?
