TLDR: If you are on RM89 30mbps, switch to Unifi now because Maxis will not give you a free upgrade.

I've called Maxis and confirmed that they will not match TM's offer. They want RM99 for 100mbps.

Celcomdigi only offers RM89 for 100mbps if you take up their postpaid mobile plan.

Therefore, the only logical choice for cheapest 100mbps now is Unifi (RM89 forever), before they raise prices to RM99.

After reading the FAQ I agree and believe the situation might turn out to be the following

1) They will very likely be providing a new ONT with 2.5GbE (on all ports).

2) For 2Gbps they will be providing the 6E router with at least 2x2.5GbE ports (1x WAN and 1x LAN) as they claim 2Gbps LAN speed.
So no TM solution of an ONR without actual 2.5GbE capabilities. That's good news if true.

3) What is also to be seen is if the new MultiGig ONT is also given to 1Gbps customers. Perhaps it will be but the WiFi 6 router won't come with MultiGig ports.

Got to wait for official clarification on this.

Staff at Maxis just told me to call 1800 82 1230.

The guy on the other side said can match unifi offer, but I asked for public IP too which he said its chargable.

Told him to proceed with my transfer....

Then gotten email from TM saying my transfer request approved.

PS: was told to pay current unbilled month in advance, which later will be prorated and any balance can be claimed via Maxis website (search for refund). I havent done so but the approved email was received anyway from TM.

Hi, I can't reach full speed of the promised 100mbps package, speedtest always capped at 93-95mbps max. even with LAN

Moving to other place that is not within TM infra..especially Maxis NGBB..i remember someone post in YT...he get 750mbps for download speed with 300mbps plan in NGBB infra..the infra already everywhere in taman area include East Coast...just that it not worth it just for internet usage...if house over there is far from your workplace.. other tips, transfer back to Unifi...also, i see people use Astro Fibre in TM infra don't have speed cap issue much..i do believe it just Maxis being cheapskate to pay full bandwidth fee to TM...or Astro get special treatment for buying routing bandwidth from TM...after all, Astro Fibre is the only fibre ISP that depend routing 100% from TM..someone use Celcom Fibre in TM infra don't have speed cap issue..to this day it is still unknown why Maxis Fibre in TM infra get speed cap...if you subs 30mbps..when speedtest get 27~28mbps download speed...that 7% less speed...did math..imagine 2Gbps in TM infra..speed cap 7%..1,860mbps for download speed..who knows..

come to think about it, my workplace and dad's place are both on 100mbps unifi, no problem getting more than 100mbps.

What if telco dont provide good service but we cant terminate the contract? Just like Maxis now every night also damn slow youtube also buffering. Complaining to them they said their line is ok.

I did face with this issue, and I quickly upgrade it to public IP and all issues resolved. Maybe CGNAT is congested.

Existing 30Mbps can only get 100Mbps upgrade by paying additional RM10/mth, this is ridiculous

they cannot generate transfer request (house no not showing) and port is full. He say try go maxis terminate then come back apply unifi.
but got risk, port may be assigned to other people.

then went to another TM point, they say same thing but allow me to apply 1st.
offer 2 package
1st package 300mbps at RM129 (6 month no need pay anything)
2nd 100Mbps at RM89.

For me, Maxis is way better when browsing Chinese website
Even time fibre is a mess
But their marketing and promotion strategies are horrendously bad

If existing Maxis customer, free speed upgrade is without contract.

when i signed up ~1.5yr ago, one of selling point is no renew contract if [upgrade within contract] OR [up/downgrade outside contract].

lose 1 selling point if maxis also start following unifi [recontract regardless up/downgrade].

RM89 gang. Here's how to get a free upgrade to 100mbps.

1. Initiate the transfer process, get transfer ID, then Call 1800821230
2. Say you want to transfer to Unifi
3. They will offer you free upgrade within 24 hours, no contract

Rant: Maxis really CCB waste my time. If they had just gave an auto upgrade like TM, then I would not have researched and initiated the transfer process.

When I called two weeks ago, they said I have to pay RM99 for 100mbps.

Been using Maxis for 2 years, Unifi and Time 1 year
So far, my Maxis only DC-ed twice since installation, first being a fiber cut and 2nd is nationwide outrage. Unlike Unifi I've never encountered service upgrade related DC.
Routing wise, Maxis is better than Time to China
Gaming thou, Unifi gets better ping if I'm playing on NA server
Overall, I would get Maxis over Unifi, especially when promotion is around.

I switched out of UNIFI after non stop, daily complaints that were ignored for 2 years

Started just as Covid lockdown started, never returned to normal until I left in 2022

I told them to take a look around, what ISP has a dedicated thread mentioning bad routing

It also happened with my brother's Unifi during that COVID and after.
He keeps asking me how to fix it because he always watch some series from the US and UK servers and Unifi routing always overloaded especially on peak time.

After that, he gave up and now becoming a Maxis customer.
No complaints whatsoever.

I got the offer to upgrade to 800mbps in the app
But I want to maintain my speed and pay less.
The cs being paticularly annoying say cannot cause it'll unbundle if I recontact my fiber to new pricing without upgrade.
