Going to move to CelcomDigi.  Offer 6 months free and comes with dynamic public IP according to the call centre person in charge.
*
You better double tripple confirm with another person. To my knowledge celcomdigi do not offer public IP.

QUOTE(stinger @ Dec 15 2023, 08:56 AM)
hope you enjoy your stay in unifi
I was from unifi > Maxis because of 3 reasons :

- unlimited data plan on postpaid
- backup 4g dongle
- Maxis will rush TM to fix line problem and better follow up service if you report MCMC and provided me compensation [rebate on service loss days]

Why I did not liked unifi :

- if you encounter any problems and report MCMC, unifi still doesn't give a shit on it [slow response all the way], no follow up call even after issue resolved, no compensation on service loss days
- no backup dongle, unifi down = outage
- if you terminate / switch line ..... wow good luck to you ... there are many threads out there complaining the slowness of TM unifi side on processing - on releasing the port to Maxis (mine took 1.5 months after reported to MCMC!)
- maxis never called and bother me to upgrade plan, unifi agent did (at least once annually).... so annoying....
- Unifi had very bad stock wifi router back then .....serious packet loss when more devices connected

Well... of course, everyone gets different experience  cool2.gif
*
Another bad thing is that TM will capped Maxis users below their subscribed speed, depending on area.

QUOTE(Altrius @ Dec 17 2023, 12:36 AM)
Yes, I hope so too, my friends from other areas told me when there's outage, they are offered the RM50 per day rebate, as per Unifi's agreement, so I guess there's that.

I did ask my friend who live nearby before switching, about his Unifi experience.
Fingers crossed; our neighborhood rarely have outage.

For me, outage only once every few years for Maxis Fibre, hopefully it will be the same for Unifi since ultimately, it's TM's line.
I did not have the backup 4g, so other than pricing, it's no difference for me, I was able to use the full 110mbps* from Maxis so seems there's no speed cap too.

Maxis does not reward "loyal" customers at all, even when I'm already with Maxis for 10yrs+, whereby my friends can use the SWU plan from Unifi after their contract ends.
*
Yes the outage frequency is the same if you are on TM infra. I use Unifi then switch to Digi and now Maxis, only can recall one outage incident for the past few years. Only thing not good in my area is the speed capped for non-unifi.
The reason why Unifi looks appealing is their 101 pricing for the same plan to "jaga" some of their lucky customers" while Maxis has less of such pricing. In the end, who hold the infra will have greater control of things

If Maxis doesn't counter-offer me with something nice, then I will opt for UniFi. tongue.gif

Anyway, actually I prefer to stay with Maxis, eases everything. I don't need to wait for the technician to come and change for me, redo my router settings again.
So let's see when the time comes. biggrin.gif

Similar to TM, when you have transfer ID you can call their hotline to nego.

QUOTE(QuantumEdge @ Dec 19 2023, 12:29 PM)
May I know how can one push them to counter offer?
*
Get a transfer ID from Unifi and call Maxis CS to request transfer out. They will start to offer you something.

I think depend on TM OLT brand...My place get fibre infra in 2020..the DP box is black color & come with 10 port each...im on port number 9...it doesn't matter which port you use bcoz TM use different vendor for their fibre project..i think those people get uncapped speed probably use Huawei or Nokia OLT brand...there is no way TM can capped ISP riding on their infra via modem..if you want to know more...get your neighbor sign up Maxis Fibre & test drive..the result will be the same i guess..im first use TM Unifi 30mbps in 2021 & transfer to Maxis Fibre 30mbps in 2023...no free speed upgrade but im happy bcoz the line is much more stable in term mobile gaming...maybe bcoz Wifi 6 router..
*
Do you get 30mbps or below 30mbps on speedtest? I think if you are still paying 89 for 30mbps then not really worth it... Should try to nego for 100mbps.
Definitely the capping is done in OLT and not modem. I started to use Unifi since it is available in my area in 2017, upgrading from Streamyx. Speed test constantly above 100mbps. In 2021 I switch to Digi fibre, the capping is done at 99mbps.
Then recently switch to Maxis fibre, can only get 93-95mbps. When I made the switch to Digi 2 years ago, I was told that in my housing lorong I am the only one using other provider.

The rebate pro rate also dont make sense. Should be RM 10 * (29/30) = RM 9.677.

Only given RM 6 for some reason. Very clever tactic to squeze money
*
Call up their CS to get explanation. Maxis charges is so complicated unlike TM. TM free upgrade is free upgrade without any adjustment to your bill.

unifi also practice [charge full then apply discount].
same can be seen in maxis billing practice.
both aims to make it appear "nothing has changed" to the bottom line.

nothing complicated.
*
but their charge full and discount is easily understandable. like for example rm159 full plan -rm40 discount.

I am on Digi fibre .. There is no free upgrade but they are forcing me to recontract another 24 months, finished first year, just to enjoy the new revise plan!!

Mcmc is doing half bucket work here, no overnights these strings attached plans
*
I was on Digi fibre too. Was told I will not get FSU or price reduction unless I change to new Celcom Digi plan and recontract. Hence I switch to Maxis as right timing I am out of contract.
What you can do since you are still in contract, try lodge report at https://aduan.mcmc.gov.my/#/public/main and inform them Digi refuse to lower price for your fibre. See what is their response.

Recently service down. Took a week to fix.. Neighbor using unifi 2nd days came and fixed. Given dongle but useless for me. My area 4g line is very bad.

The technical support is really bad. One week no internet and kids are damn boring especially during this school holiday
*
Because they depend on TM tech to fix the infra. When TM has their own Unifi, they surely won't prioritise Maxis and the rest.

Hi, I've subscribed Maxis 300Mbps at my parent house and got TP-Link EX510 as router. I plan to buy Archer AX53 to make mesh through the EasyMesh. Can I use EX510 as node or it need to be main?
*
If you need to use the Maxis provided voip then easier to maintain the original router as main.

I didn't subcribe for the voip, only internet. So meaning I can use it as node if no voip?
*
I don't have that specific Maxis router to test. Since you will be buying AX53, can give it a try and see if any difference of using the stock router as node.

*
Don't worry. I'm sure TM will keep it as part of their "undisclosed" offer at Tmpoint. They have been in this game for a long time. Even without 6 months free bill they will come out with some kind of pricing that is lower than what existing old subs are paying.

Been noticing that my Dec & Jan bill was RM139 despite my current plan of RM99

My 100 Mbps (RM99) has been upgraded to 300 via clicking the App.

Called 123 & they acknowledge that some accounts who upgrade are billed at the new pricing (RM139) erroneously. They are in the midst of correcting the billing error & tentative date of correction is starting 7 Feb.

The missing rebates will be credited back to you
*
Upgrade without you noticing? Or you intentionally click and do the upgrade.

Since there isn't a Maxis breached by r00tkit thread and this has kinda become that thread

they just posted they messed with sending smses and also draining money from users...

quoting their text
I think I confirm they did in fact do that, a friend of mine suddenly received a message at like 11pm a few days ago, claiming that they have successfully signed up for Maxis Fiber Lite (didn't know that even existed) 30Mbps at some random address in Perak (they do not live in Perak)
They have made a police report from that

So uhh, folks here should check their messages and funds as well I suppose
wacko.gif  blink.gif
*
Draining of money must be through credit card link to the app, unless they somehow gain access to the billing system and mess around.

only yesterday i felt like warning people to temporarily remove payment methods from maxis environment. but eventually i didn't, thinking "not possible laaaah".
*
Dk about others, but for this reason alone I personally think it is good to not save cc info in any app. But for prepaid debit card it's fine if you only topup small amount.

QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ Feb 8 2024, 04:23 PM)
Well I have a few guesses

1. Compromised billing system, gaining access to customer payment info
Or

2. Customers falling for the scam SMS, and handing over their money in the process

Like from the Lowyat post
https://www.lowyat.net/2024/316112/r00tk1t-...s-phishing-sms/
> Why I got an SMS to redeem Maxis Reward points but when I click to redeem and such, Maybank shows I'm making a payment of 2k to Tik Tok shop?

Or
3. The classic subscribe the user to various useless WAP services from long ago that you need to send STOP to end
*
All of these is possible. We don't know what they gonna do next

No problem for those with light usage actually. Only if you have specific requirements like connecting to certain server in certain country, then you would be concern on their routing.

*
Here it is, but 2 things:
1. This test is done in Kuching on Maxis fibre. ping time may be lower if done from West Malaysia.
2. This Maxis fibre is running under TM infra, not Maxis NGBB or Allo.

Sigh, disappointed with the Maxis billing dept team.
Lodge report with Maxis 3 times, MCMC 2 times, but still cannot resolve.

Always say, next billing cycle will be given back rebates.

Sudah masuk bulan Mac 2024, but still paying RM149 for 500mbps without the rebates of RM20 x 24months from the initial 300mbps plan.  rclxub.gif

I called Maxis and said, if they breached this by removing the rebates, does this means I'm out of contract since the rebates gone?  rclxs0.gif
Unifi is always tempting me with price matching + 6 months free.  whistling.gif
*
Keep reopen the MCMC report until they solve your case. Unfortunately that's the only way.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Mar 11 2024, 06:35 PM)
I submitted a request to change my ISP to TM UniFi last Friday. I also received an email from UniFi asking me to visit my current provider. My agent told me that these days, Maxis will call to confirm the change, and I don't need to go to Maxis Centre. I have yet to call today, and my schedule with TM is this Saturday. sweat.gif

Any suggestion? I want to stay back with Maxis and hope for some discounts. sad.gif
*
You can call their CS instead. Ask how is your transfer request, and then ask if there is any offer to stay on with Maxis.
