*
Yes. But they will still come together with TM tech just to make sure the line is in good condition.

Please help me guys...

Maxis gonna install fibre at my house in 2 days, already registered and confirmed...

May i know did the 2 year contract already run? Can i still ask them to delay or cancel the installation? Worried need to pay penalty
*
Why need to delay or cancel? There will be a penalty of RM200 if you notify to reschedule the installation appointment within 3 days from the installation date.

Is maxis fibre problematic for anyone else?

for me since last 3 months, at least once a week it'll be unstable with constant disconnections and reconnections

when they come and check it'll be perfect and nothing will be done as usual

been going on for too long

any advice?

10 years with unifi and did not have any of these issues, sure their international links were non existent but the internet never dropped like this

Connection to .synology.me has been lost since 2023-06-18 05:45:03 +08:00. Please check the network connection of your DiskStation, and make sure its DDNS service is enabled.

May i know if you use 30Mbps in TM infra or Maxis infra...
Actually, wanna get Pakej Perpaduan from Unifi...but, lack of no WiFi 6 router & slow 10Mbps upload hold me back...i do watch some YouTube video...some user get capped at 28Mbps... hmm.gif

I see everyone post 30Mbps with free 3 month bill...symmetrical upload speed & new WiFi 6 router might be better than stuck with Aztech router for another 2 year...i know TM got SWU 3.0 offer...but, i think it better to switch bcoz i don't want another round of slow routing to certain game in holiday week...
*
Still, 28mbps upload is higher than 10mbps. Try to talk with the TM technician during install, see if they can adjust.

Is it possible to switch from Unifi to Maxis Fibre with minimal (less than 1 day) downtime?
*
The downtime is very minimal, mostly less than an hour. In fact, your unifi will still run for few days after technician install the Maxis router.
The proper process you need to go through is to apply for Maxis fibre from agent/Maxis centre. Inform them you are switching from Unifi, show them your bill if they having problem finding your address in the system. Maxis will give you a transfer ID which you need to go to Tmpoint to do thumbprint. TM will also ask you to pay 1 month bill, any balance prorated after that will be refunded back to you.
Then just wait for TM to approve the transfer, usually will take few days. Once TM green light your transfer request, Maxis will arrange installation. They just plug in router to lan 2 of your BTU, and do some configuration, then your Maxis fibre is ready.

Same BTU no new unit from Maxis?
*
BTU belongs to TM, so during installation, TM technician will come together with Maxis technician. If the TM technician think your BTU needs replacement, they will replace a new one.
Anything related to the BTU or fibre or FDP, Maxis technician will not touch.

My Maxis Family Plan contract ended.   rclxm9.gif   Plan to switch to other ISP for a cheaper package.
Anyone able getting promo/offer from Maxis? Mind to share?  tongue.gif

If you are looking at fibre +postpaid, can also check out Celcom Digi. At least their mobile coverage far better compared to Unifi.

Thanks for your reply.  notworthy.gif
The reason i asked so was Unifi campaign price for Unifi Home + Unifi Mobile package are so much attractive, leads me to think about port out.

Talking about the "free" speed upgrade, shouldn't it apply to everyone, regardless of any ISP? Let say I switch to Unifi 300M, i still can get speed upgrade on Sept, right?
*
I believe so. Prices should drop across all ISP. Whether you get cheaper price or free upgrade that's to be announce by individual provider.

Hi Sifus, I need some technical help here.

I was on Maxis Fibre 100 Mbps. Last year, Maxis called and offered free upgrade trial to 300 Mbps for one year. I took the offer and Maxis changed the modem from Huawei to ZTE.

After one year (i.e. the free upgrade expired), I called Maxis to downgrade back to 100 Mbps. I was told it will be done in three business days.

On the third business days, my plan was downgraded to 100 Mbps (received email confirmation from Maxis) but there was no Internet connection. I've restarted my modem and router many times but nothing works. Called up Maxis and they sent a technician to check cable. Confirmed no issue with the cable.

It's already been few days without Internet. Had to rely on mobile Internet which is quite bad in my place.

If anyone know where to check, please help.

Thanks.

Call Maxis again to report on the problem. At the same time, lodge report at Aduan SKMM portal and ask for compensation for those few days downtime.

QUOTE(BeadsCrazee @ Aug 12 2023, 08:42 AM)
two months ago we switched from unifi to maxis fibre at RM89 for 30mbps. the agent that whatsapp us said to help apply for conversion at 3 months free service. However last night suddenly no internet connection. Called maxis and was told there has been 2m outstanding bill so got suspended due to non payment and there is no 3m free service attached with our account. When applying, that guy also told us we dont have to contact unifi to get service terminated as maxis will convert and unifi auto terminate. But in fact we have to personally went to unifi to terminate the service that time. Checking back the application email, it was the review application email from 'signuplah' that has the written 3months free wording. The email from maxis did not indicate any such info. The hello from maxis email stated that the physical bill will be sent to our registered address at RM5 charges. That time we overlooked that and did not click on the register for ebill button. But so far we did not received any physical bill nor emailed bill.

So we are guessing that agent did not apply conversion correctly and therefore maxis has no free 3m service recorded. That agent did not pick up our calls.

We are wondering if there is any workaround for this issue? Anyone has any experience on this? Or we just have to pay up the sum and got stuck to the 24 months contract and treated it as lesson learnt?

Thank you
*
Gather all the evidence and submit official complaint through MCMC portal. You should also lodge report to Maxis withregards to misleading by the agent.

Hi all, im using maxis 300mbps for a few months and im getting some kind of connection problem. First time it happen was a few weeks ago and tonight it happen again.

speed suddenly going from slow to super slow. I tried speedtest with a few different servers, maxis's is the slowest at around 3mbps down 50 mbps up while some other non maxis server maybe getting like 100mbps down 50mbps up. I tried restart router but still getting slow download. latency to SG server also very bad, getting frequent spike.

another thing is that when going to youtube it seems to be fine loading 4K or 8K video.

the last time it happen, the next morning it seems back to normal. anything i can do to troubleshoot further?

Nothing you could do except to lodge report to Maaxis and MCMC

Same here actually, me and my housemates subscribed the 300mbps monthly plan and the internet speed runs without issues while watching YouTube / Netflix (Most of the time) even goes well with speed test. However, it always ping spikes when we are gaming.. both mobile phones and PC games. I've already filed multiple times of complaints to Maxis, every time encountered the same issues and they can't even fix it for almost a year.
Initially I tried all the stuff that I could do to troubleshoot the issues, restart the modem and router, troubleshoot the speed test on multiple devices, clearing cache etc. Tried to get into the admin panel but there's nothing much to configure in our client side in Maxis.. you can't even change the channels, must request changing from Maxis CS. I even changed my desktop WiFi adapter to a better ones since my friends doesn't often encounter the problem with their laptops but still, it changes nothing for me.

The most recent time Maxis CS sent the technician to come and replace our hostel router, suspected its a hardware defects problem. Well, nothing works around as well. Problem still persist and now we are all fed up on Maxis but we can't change our sub to Unifi since there's 2 years contract  console.gif

The last thing you could try is to replace the router with your own. If problem persist, lodge a report to MCMC here.

Nah, i won't replace it with another router. We are still students, can't really afford expensive routers that could support better bandwidth and stable connection tho.. you prolly wondering why I'm still a student while this account registered since 2006 xD
This is my elder brother's account ;P
*
I don't mine whether you are student or not. Most importantly here, you get the speed you paid for.

Im emphasizing the fact that im a student was to let you know i can't afford high-end router nor my housemate would willing to pay extra for another router... but complaining to MCMC will escalate the problem?
*
Yes, it will escalate your issue to higher authroity, not only just with Maxis.

Saw something in Maxis FB group (not official)
Someone claims he called Maxis CS, and was told Maxis is going to offer
RM89 100Mbps
RM129 300Mbps
RM149 500 Mbps
RM249 800Mbps

Unifi users moving to Maxis will be getting 6 months free

Hmm you can provide something better to existing users Maxis...
*
Agree. At least something on par with Unifi SWU 3.0, or give symmetrical dl/ul speed. But too bad mostly ride on TM infra, therefore the offer is more or less the same or slightly less attractive than TM.
