LoL... hey crazymouse.. can you give me the measurement for the base of your 2ft tank. The ones that I've seen all have a small base.. well smaller than my habitrail mini. Going to get one soon to prepare for gerbil. Lying to my mom saying 'it's for my hamster in case i need to change the cage temporarily' LOL.. once the gerbil comes in.. it's not like she'll throw them out. Maybe she'll nag nag nag a while nia. wahhaha.. i'm so smart.

About 22 inches in lenght... the base... the cover should be ngam ngam 24 inches.

crazy: habitrail concentrating on marketing slightly smaller cage so we all will have to spend extra to buy the piping for our loved ones to run... great marketing strategy though.. rclxms.gif

It depends seriously. If it's tamed already then surely there won't be a problem doing so. But if you bought yours from a petshop, the chances are that they aren't tamed yet and you'll need to give them a few months to get used to your smell and contact

@mochi: Safari and space station more or less the same size actually... I don't see much diff. I may be wrong however.

mochi : the cage more or less is the same size for safari , playground, mini and spacestation... the only tHing is the thIngs inside that makes it too overcrowded..
that is why me and my wife ended up joining the two cage for the two ww.

having a tank sure is bigger.. but i seen hamsters chewing off the silicon glue that holds the tank together.. so just a question of time the glass falls apart

( and worst case scenario : if the hamster escape.. u have to search high and low the whole house for ur loved one .. and dunno whether the hamsters will get toxicated from accidentally consuming the silicon glue. imagine the possibilities..)

there is nothing that is 100% good or bad in my opinion..
