US politicians get into the game for the money, not state interest. US say every other government has corruption, but US made corruption legal by the lobby system. Companies and factions can legally give 'donations' to politicians to further their corporate agenda in the government.

For example say a defense company want to secure guaranteed profits, they can 'donate' to a, say a US Senator, to push the US government for US military supply to conflict regions, in which if successful US will buy weapons and ammo made by that very defense company to supply to conflicts in the name of freedom and democracy & voila, profits for defense manufacturers!

By this system other companies, like oil, tobacco and mining industries also have some very powerful politicians practically in their pocket to do or say whatever they want.

What, new study shows tobacco causes cancer? Solution: tobacco manufacturers pay powerful politicians to say otherwise. Because politicians are always right. brows.gif

Pro-Russian separatists capture a relatively intact Ukrainian T-64BM after it hit an anti-tank mine after attempting to escape the Debaltsevo pocket

Easy repair, hull is not breached and running gear seems OK, just replace tracks and repair side skirts. In the next 1-2 days the tank should be running again. If the government troops abandoned this tank so easily, wonder they didn't consider throwing a grenade down the hatch before escaping on foot? Well, another tank into the separatist arsenal, I guess. yawn.gif

i have to disagree about f22, i think f22 are the best air superiority fighter jet right now but it lack multirole capability, tbf it role was as an air superiority fighter jet.

most of the training duel are WVR engagements i believe with stealth capability f22 have the upper hand in BVR engagements it so hard to detect, so to fight fighter jet like f22 was to fight within WVR and with thrust vector capability fighter jet like f22 and su30mkm have the upper hand

p.s just my opinion though purely based on my understanding about fighter jet

mkm have thrust vectoring have 2 axis, f22 have only a single axis

BVR is highly disputed.. the confirm kill is less than 10% once beyond a certain range because of the inability of the aircraft to do accurate targeting without the help of AWECS or ground control system. That why when it come to dog fight it still fall back to good old 30mm cannon laugh.gif

F22 sole advantage is that it harder to detect but once detected, it a essential have to fall back to it same close weapon system. Plus, the last training with f22 and our mkm shows that it still very vurennable in actual dogfight

plus, the exhibit price tag of a f22 just not attractive for any foreign buyers. That is why Russian is marketing their su-50 as an affordable 5th gen fighter for any interested party.

If F-22 had completed its IRST module, I believe it will be an even mightier plane for air superiority mission. Too bad got cancelled.

Tengok macam Russian, radar tak detect, visually boleh detect, still can track and guide missiles.

Both planes have one axis thrust vectoring, just that mkm/mki axis pivot is little sideways so it's classify as 2.5D TVC, while the f22 is 2D TVC

user posted image

while it is more than 2D but is less than 3D, so its 2.5D laugh.gif

CIA bought Iraq chemical weapons
Led the United States to acquire and destroy at least 400 Borak rockets

A New York Times investigation published in October found that the military had recovered thousands of old chemical warheads and shells in Iraq and that Americans and Iraqis had been wounded by them, but the government kept much of this information secret, from the public and troops alike.

Navy to take delivery of new oceanographic vessels

Nani Afrida

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | February 17 2015 | 3:57 PM

The Indonesian Navy has confirmed that it is waiting for the delivery of new support vessels worth Rp 60 billion (US$4.7 million) from France, purchased by the government in October 2013.

“We are waiting for the arrival of two new hydro-oceanography vessels from France, The vessels are able to sweep mines in the ocean as well,” Navy spokesperson Commodore Manahan Simorangkir told The Jakarta Post in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He said each vessel would be equipped with one 20 mm and two 12.7 mm guns for maritime surveillance and oceanographic activity purposes.

“The first new vessel, the KRI Rigel, will arrive in Jakarta on April 28,” Manahan said.

The two new vessels are expected to meet the Navy’s needs for new modern weaponry to secure Indonesia’s waters.

Philippine Navy to repair BRP Rizal

Attached Image

14 February 2015

The Philippine Navy (PN) has allocated the sum of Php22.3 million for machinery repairs of the BRP Rizal (PS-74), one of the oldest ships in the fleet.

Winning bidders are required to complete the repairs within 100 calendar days.

The repairs are to ensure that the BRP Rizal is seaworthy and battle-worthy at all times.

The BRP Rizal is the lead ship and first of two Rizal class ships in service with the PN.

She is formerly an ex-US Navy Auk class minesweeper that were produced during World War II, and is now classified as a patrol corvette protecting the vast waters of the Philippines.

BRP Rizal was commissioned into Philippine service in June 18, 1965.
