I got a call from maybank stating that i have been chosen to receive the cards
they verified my information
when i asked them that why they do not require my tax form , salary slip and epf , she had mentioned not necessary as they can verify thru my account at maybank

They also said if i would like to collect my card at my branch in ss2 or delivered to my office

Card should be ready in 14days

Question is this a scam ?

just received the same call as well, he did not ask any of my information and will just send to my office. He had all my information including my car loan balance etc.

This is one of the tactic Maybank use to entice customers. You are being offered a pre approved card. Generally speaking , they have approved before hand. Such a method, very rampant 5 or 10 years ago. They simply issue you a card and send it to you without you applying. Only after BNM intervention on credit cards in 2011 this practice is in decline.

Received this call when it was just introduced in 2011. No issue for me and I accepted it. A happy user until today.
They can verify my information because my salary is credited into Maybank account.
