I got a call from maybank stating that i have been chosen to receive the cards
they verified my information
when i asked them that why they do not require my tax form , salary slip and epf , she had mentioned not necessary as they can verify thru my account at maybank

They also said if i would like to collect my card at my branch in ss2 or delivered to my office

Card should be ready in 14days

Question is this a scam ?

has anyone received similar call the number they called from is 03 20246688
has anyone received similar calls ?

get confirmation first whether she is really from maybank or not.

If number is 20246688 be wary, i called maybank twice first time they say there is no record of this number in their system, and no calls were made.

Called second time, today now they tell me this number is their internal telemarketer but unable to see any records of a call to me. Funny also offering maybank2card platinum. said was pre approved and will deliver card to home in 14 days. irony they didnt ask for income tax , epf etc just said since my salary is via maybank no need any further documents.

I find it hard to believe but will wait and see.

you think too much..
if he had all the information about you..what he can scam you?
did the person ask any extra information from you? or did the person just ask your consent of accepting the offer?

Maybe im being paranoid, i have been burned badly thru identity theft once. who remembers Southern Bank "direct Access". Took me 2 years and all the running around to clear my name from ctos , lawyers etc. In the end i still have to pay off the debt.

so i just want to be careful.
