The main reason is because he kept on licking it.
Ever try e-collar?

This.

Whatever you use, it'll take time to heal if he kept licking the wound.

You doing it right IMO. Keep cleaning the wound & don't stop giving antibiotics unless doctor say. A couple of years ago my cat got a puncture wound at the back leg, the part where it folded when they sit. Mine also does take time to heal. There's drainage too that I kept cleaning but it usually dried up quickly.

how long you cat took to fully cure?

could be true.
e-collar kind of expensive. i am thinking of to make a hole on the polystyrene plate and put that plate on my cat's neck.
hope that will work. laugh.gif

Hi all. I'm trying to see whether we can get Somali cat here. Googling only found none. Only the popular Persian, Scottish, and the likes. Anyone know anyone who has Somali cat?

It's a couple years ago. I don't remember but pretty sure weeks, not days. I remember he doesn't in pain & active as always, even though I can see the hole & drainage come out from it (not all the time). I use Gamat too which I think helped.

No idea e-collar is expensive. I have never use it before. However, I'm pretty sure it's worthwhile. BTW, how much it cost?

Good luck! Hope your cat get better soon.

In my cat's case, Gamat wasn't help, the drainage worsen that even came out with blood. so I stop after 3 days consume it.
I cant be sure how much e-collar gonna cost us, but knowing cat stuff sure will be expensive.

btw I brought my cat to vet yesterday, he got another antibiotic shot. let see today whether the new antibiotic works or not.

Why do you want the particular breed? Any reason you can't provide a home for an unwanted cat?

Not sure, but please spay your cat. She doesn't need to have kittens.

Did you take them to the vet?

The ones that died could be caused by anything. You can't avoid it. If you already take care them the best you can, it is not your fault. The best way is to place the mother cat & her kitten at safe place. You should lock them in the house. Please consider spaying your cat after her kitten can eat dry/wet food.

Is there any rules here that I should post about stray and adopted cats? Should have just change the title of the forum.

she is the first time mommy?
first time mommy usually struggling in taking care of her first litter.
she will be good in handling next litter.
but the best is to neuter her quickly, the world is just overpopulated with them

my cat developed somekind of UTI from being overweight, the vets says

so i changed to a prescribed kibble (royal canin brand) and controlled his diet

he just finished it, can recommend a cat kibble thats both economical and better than those mass market brands? i dont know how much budget i should allocate

my cat is a orange tabby, and some said its more common for orange tabbies to have problems with their urinary tract, is it true?
