I found my kitten to scratch her neck a lot these days.
What could have caused this ? |

fleas could cause irritation. Perhaps you should bring it for a check-up.

A buddy of mine gave me a white maine coon kitten today, aged 2 month +. Very playful and active.
Any recommendations on dry and wet food for that breed? And suggestions how to rotate wet and dry. I just bought RC Kitten 36 small pack just for starter (recommendations from the pet shop), but my friend said RC is no good And for this maine coon am thinking giving him the best food he could get. At the pet store they carried brand like orijen, evo, purina pro plan, rc, iams, blackwood. This post has been edited by mrbs84: Feb 18 2015, 01:48 AM |

Please don't make your cat fat. Make sure you maintain its proportionate weight.

Well ive been using RC for a while now, cat happy and healthy, just choose the maincoone type, once i changed to RC fit or somethng my cat developed scab, most likely the problem with your cat is not the food la, its just getting used to the new environment. Its better that you ask the past owner what they have been feeding her to make the transition easier.Any recommendations on dry and wet food for that breed? And suggestions how to rotate wet and dry. You guys sure Royal Canin is a good feline food brand? Reading through their ingredients (highlighting the first 5 ingredients) left me thinking otherwise.

Rice is not bad though. It's easy to digest, adds fiber to cat diet & also give your cat energy. It's not like you're feeding your cat with rice only. Of course when feeding cats it's all about food with balanced nutrition. |

There will be endless discussion on what is better..its neverending..same like baby milk, baby carrier.
What is fact is that RC is a well respected brand eaten by cats all over the world. My grandmother fed her cats with IAMS n rotate with wet food twice a month, she had more then half a dozen last time...oldest was 17 years, all the cat she took cared lived at least a decade..she bath and cleans them weekly. Most important to cats is rotation of food, cleanliness eg drinking water, poo etc, and stimulation. Feeding them raw stuff is definitely a plus...tried it with my cat...gave her a bloody salmon..she looked at it with a "meh" face. T_T Do all that consistently and keeping your cat indoor..your cat will live long and prosper. If you plan on letting your cat outdoors, vaccine is required yearly. Most people dont have problem with expensive food in the 1st/2nd year..but consistent loving after that is what makes the difference. This post has been edited by thahirah: Feb 18 2015, 04:07 PM |

My friend did gave me some of the previous dry food that he gave to the kitten, but the pallet quite large compare to the RC Kitten i bought. Btw i hand feed the kitten, now he ate a lot. When i leave the food on the plater, he just ignore it
And i gave him goat milk (which is for cat), he quite dig it. This post has been edited by mrbs84: Feb 18 2015, 04:42 PM |

I can only afford to feed my cats expensive food like RC once in a while. My favourite is Royal Canin Persian 30 10kg. My cats love it.

grains are not necessarily bad, but as much as I understand that brands are the main way that people in Malaysia choose their pet food, I would suggest just feeding your cat whatever works best for them.
I recently changed my cats' wet food to Wellness CORE and their coats are getting very shiny. So I'm going to continue feeding them the wet food and keep their dry food. |

At what age can a cat get pregnant?
Gosh, the male calico that i took in, turned out to be a female? Grew 3-4 pairs of nipples, and tummy quite bloated. Not sure pregnant or what. |
