My balance is RM107 only after 14Nov but i was still charge with 1.5% based previous usage (rm837) which has been paid 85%. It's like being robbed in broad daylight. Lodged a complaint liao anyway.

I believe T&C for late payment is that they start counting from bill date if you miss payment date. Something along those lines.

Of course safest is always pay on time, otherwise none of the card's benefits are really worth it.

That being said, hope your complaint can get some back =)

It's not a late payment. My monthly payment due date is on the 8th which is not relevant for my purchase done on the beginning of the month which even has been paid b4 the 'calculation' day.

Im highlighting that we really need to check carefully on the statement to prevent being overcharge by the bank just like my case.

anyone applied BT with HSBC before?

I applied one, say RM12,000 for 6 months.

It came out in my current statement as lump sum of this RM12,000. And my statement amount was RM12,000 with my spending with this card.

Called CS and she said that this BT - RM12,000 can be paid as long as I am still within the 6Month period...

This is so different from other bank as in, for example MBB, it will auto split the 12000 into 6 month and come in in batch of RM2,000.00 for 6 months...

So assuming the CS was true, I can fully utilise the cash on hand until the 6th month of my BT?

If you do not pay IN FULL your statement balance before or on due date, you lose the interest-free benefit (assuming no carry forward balance in the first place) and any transaction plus subsequent which was not fully covered by your payment amount is subject to finance charges from the date of that transaction until full settlement. Also note that finance charges for conventional credit cards is subject to daily compounding interest so do not think the correct calculation is just add 1.5% p/m to your balance. It's actually higher than 1.5% p/m.

Yes. The CS is very terrible. But the cash back is very accurate. If you spend above rm 2000 , you will get 8%. Please be aware that the spending is base on calender month.

HSBC with no capped? You gotta be kidding me. They have change the T&C to maximum cashback of RM50 per month.

Another marketing gimmick brought to you by HSBC!

Kindly read the term and condition carefully. Cash back only apply for grocery and petrol on weekends. It is not total amount that you will get cash back. Also there are other terms.
