Still no hope, tried 3-4-4-8 still cant pass memtest, even tried to raise vdimm to 3.0v, bt couldnt boot, could it be this aeneon ram is limiting?

Btw, i set the ram at ddr433 in bios, bt in everest cpuid it shows ddr490, izzit ok?

hey all sifus,

i'm having a problem of not bring able to overclock my proc fully.

rig specs:

AMD Athlon64 3000+ Venice E3 Skt939
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
1024mb (512mb x2) Kingston Value Ram (Hynix DT-D43)
Enermax Noisetaker 470W

i can only max out at 239mhz * 9 (multiplier). if i set it at 240mhz, it won't boot Windows. anyone can teach me how to overcome this problem?

thanks in advance.

RAM above 3V need active cooling , so watch out .
i guess you use 245MHz X 9 multi to get 2205MHZ .
your divider not working ? or it lowered itself when cannot boot ?

most D43 need little voltage boost to get DDR500 with loose timing
DT can do better than BT

Try use 2.5-4-4-8 and up the voltage to 2.9v. Then test again and remember 2.9v is the max V u shud put for the d43 chips.

isn't that a lil too high? so 2.5-4-4-8 and 2.9v (2.85 possible? takut burn lah laugh.gif), then 250mhz*9?

try 3-3-3-8 and 2.7v first. if still cannot, try upping the Vdimm. my silly twin stick of rebranded ddr333 KVR can easily do ddr480 at 3-4-4-8-2T 2.9v (didn't dare go higher sweat.gif )

guys may i know wat is called "HT width" and " Hammer Control " in my DFI ultra-infinity..

currently i got to OC to 2400 mhz ,set HT multiplier to X3 and set my ram divider to 266mhz. Seems no problem until now after test with prime95 also.

But i was only curious about that HT width and Hammer control since it didn got a chance to make any changes in it.

thanks.

so far i'm running 2.5-3-3-8 @ default V @ DDR470. laugh.gif

i'll try using this timings and OC till DDR480 or even maybe DDR500 on 2.9V.

for K8 family , processor speed is everything laugh.gif
if your speed is high enough can overtake others' with slower speed and tight timing icon_rolleyes.gif

Nope, dont worry. 2.9v is still in the safe zone for passive cooling.

Its better to try 2.5-4-4-8 before 3-3-3-8 because the difference in the Cas Latency makes more different than those two in the middle.

Some chips can go and some cant depends on the chips itself. So try and experiment yourself.

Higher ram frequency with loose timing is better than slower ram frequency with tight timing.

juz slap 3-4-4-8 and go higher htt on 1:1
srsly, why bother tight timing/CAS latency when you have no idea what is it/it does or gonna benefit the effect unless you are going for the top 10 superPI rankings

ok. i just found out that my mobo only allows me to locate 2.85V max to my rams. blink.gif how?

tried both 2.5-3-3-8 and 3-3-3-8 and both stil won't allow my pc to boot Windows properly.

the seller of the DT-D43's, a friend of mine, said he managed to OC it till about 270mhz. but i forgot what proc he was on, would be 775. unsure.gif
