QUOTE(toughnut @ Dec 29 2006, 09:17 AM) @-vip3rleon9- so far i'm running 2.5-3-3-8 @ default V @ DDR470. try 3-3-3-8 and 2.7v first. if still cannot, try upping the Vdimm. my silly twin stick of rebranded ddr333 KVR can easily do ddr480 at 3-4-4-8-2T 2.9v (didn't dare go higher i'll try using this timings and OC till DDR480 or even maybe DDR500 on 2.9V. |

QUOTE(uzairi @ Dec 31 2006, 10:05 PM) Nope, dont worry. 2.9v is still in the safe zone for passive cooling. ok. i just found out that my mobo only allows me to locate 2.85V max to my rams. Its better to try 2.5-4-4-8 before 3-3-3-8 because the difference in the Cas Latency makes more different than those two in the middle. Some chips can go and some cant depends on the chips itself. So try and experiment yourself. Higher ram frequency with loose timing is better than slower ram frequency with tight timing. tried both 2.5-3-3-8 and 3-3-3-8 and both stil won't allow my pc to boot Windows properly. the seller of the DT-D43's, a friend of mine, said he managed to OC it till about 270mhz. but i forgot what proc he was on, would be 775. |

QUOTE(uzairi @ Jan 4 2007, 03:18 AM) No worries, just set it to 2.85v then. Now just set it to the highest speed the ram can handle first, then lower your cpu multiplier. We use 8x ok ? Then put it 200mhz, 2.5-3-3-7 and burn in the rams at 2.85v for 1 day. sorry for the late reply, have been quite busy lately. my apologies.my rams are currently running @ 2.85v @ 235mhz. and i just found out that the mobo i'm using does not allow me to choose the CPU multiplier or even the CPU:RAM divider. what should i do now? |

QUOTE(noobianz @ Jan 13 2007, 11:02 PM) try this, when in bios try to press this two buttons:crtl+F1 alright. will try that. i thought safe HT speed is from 1800-2000? it will enable advance bios configuration for sum mobos btw,as a reminder, keep ur HTL speed sumwhere in 1000mhz range,do not exceed more than 1000mhz coz it might burn ur processor HT*:hyper transport link |

ok i have burned in my rams @ 2.85v for more then 4 days iianm. but until now, i still cannot put my ram speed to more than 239mhz. the moment i set it at 240mhz, Windows won't load. the Window's screen just stays there while the blue moving line keeps on moving.
so what do you guyz think? |

guys, just wondering. could my HTL be the culprit?
240mhz * 4 * 2 = 1920mhz (too high? my pc just won't load Windows on anything above 240mhz. 239mhz is still fine but 240mhz.. |

QUOTE(sniper69 @ Jan 22 2007, 06:43 PM) yeah...me myself also wonder, what did i did to get it 240MHz... can you pls try to recall? cuz i desperately want to go above 2.1ghz. it's too slow. my target's around 2.7~ghz.my friggin DT-D43's not doing anything, running at 235mhz. before you past 240mhz, what hdd were you using? the same one? cuz i remember someone telling me that Seagate HDD's don't go well with MSI board's or something. |

QUOTE(sniper69 @ Jan 22 2007, 10:29 PM) ok...recalled here's what i'm did...(btw, you're using MSI K8N huh?)...i don't think cause of HDD la... anyway, from what my brother experience (yes, it's my bro's XP -- not mine, i'm on DFI and Asus), anyway...at BIOS, do as usual overclock, say you want to set at 250MHz (which is surely it won't boot), doesn't matter, just set it 250MHz, reboot, but this time, press/hold Insert key, if doesnt work, cold boot then...switch off, while on, hold Insert key until POST appear, it might halt at post, but don't worry, hit F1 to continue...and voila, should be run normally...this method anyway, you have to do it everytime booting your system, from what my bro said, MSI's weakness... damm i gotta try this tomorrow. can't wait to get it above 240mhz. |

QUOTE(sniper69 @ Jan 22 2007, 11:14 PM) nope, when cold-boot...what i meant was...normally, you just switch on right, so, this time, while switching on, hold Insert key until POST come up...after then, should be allright already...please do note, it'll HALT at POST screen, just press F1, it'll continue to boot...i don't know why MSI behave like this...something like Overclocking Safe Boot... hm.. alright.. so actually, i need to cold-boot it in order for it to run >240mhz? |

QUOTE(sniper69 @ Jan 22 2007, 11:27 PM) yeah, but you can try using combination Insert + Reset = Warm boot, hey bro, i tried both warm and cold booting while holding the "Insert" key. until now, no prevail. and i think it somehow screwed up by HDD, cuz..![]() as you can see from the pic, my 120gb Barracuda is shown as a 470gb HDD in my BIOS. |
