looks like your interview going smoothly... are those questions choose randomly by the interviewer from their question bank or that is the only question they got for the essay part?

QUOTE(Bubble7 @ Feb 12 2009, 11:38 PM) looks like your interview going smoothly... Yeah. I was told I will be hired. So I guess all I need to do now is wait for the offer letter. are those questions choose randomly by the interviewer from their question bank or that is the only question they got for the essay part? Erm...there were two questions to choose from. However I did not really look at the second question, it was something about turning a personal conflict to your advantage, don't quote it on me though, because when I saw the ' hardest decision I had to make' question, I did that without thinking too much. You only had 20 minutes to do the essay, so you need all the time u can have. heh. Are you going for an interview with kpmg as well? |

QUOTE(HouHouSek @ Feb 8 2009, 05:02 PM) Like wat sysh says. In this times of economic crisis better secure a job when you have the chance. Wow. Haven't been here in awhileBetter to work than to risk it to get nothing at all When you're gonna graduate? Yup, that's correct. The economic crisis is only going to get worst. Even the Big4 isn't spared. So it will not be a surprised if you see less ppl getting hired. The Big4's in other countries have started to go on 4-day working weeks and retrenchment.. let alone getting hired. |

Guys, I'm wondering here whether ICAS is as respected as ICAEW in Malaysia?
The reason being is that I've been offered a summer internship position at EY London in Audit. The way their system works is that I will have a partner interview at the end of my internship where they'll decide if they are going to give me a graduate offer or not. Ernst & Young in the UK does the ICAS qualification instead of ICAEW or ACCA. I've been told that ICAS is equivalent to ICAEW? I've also checked the MIA website and it seems that they recognised ICAS as well. Will ICAS put me in a disadvantage position in Malaysia and do people only know about ICAEW and ACCA? I suspect not a lot of people do ICAS in Malaysia as you need a degree to start studying for it. Thanks for any advice. If i get a grad job I'll probably stay in the UK for a couple of years and then come back to Malaysia so i don't want to study ICAS if it's not recognised.... I also have final round interview coming up with Deloitte London but I don't think I can make it as my EY offer expires in 2 weeks time and the interview is in 2 1/2 weeks time. PS. I'm a UK student This post has been edited by verticalforce: Feb 14 2009, 06:00 AM |

Hmm, I duno if this is a right place to ask.
If lets say,in KPMG, where Im required to be in office whole day, where to park? Please recommend most efficient place of parking, hehe. And if let's say, I'll be there half day, coz have to go client place or something, where to park? I heard old wing 1 u is RM1 for first 6 hours, then RM 1 for every subsequent hour is it? And has anyone parked in KPMG building? How much is the rate there? If from 1u old wing, and I wanna walk to KPMG, is there anyway where I can walk inside 1u, then connect to one world, then go out, near KPMG? (coz cooler, not so hot) Thank you in advanced for help! Really need to find efficient way to save on parking and walking distance! |

Then they will schedule an interview. And after that, I only received my offer 1 month after interview. So, it realvly depends on when they call u and offer u the job With second lower, its still possible, maybe in a disadvantage position, but who knows rite? No harm trying! U can send ur resume online, or hard copy. If online, and they dont reply u after say 3 weeks, can send in a hard copy, or do it simultaneously, no harm. Resume, transcripts (photostated) is required, maybe with photostat IC. If in the event u get called for an interview, they will tell u what to bring. P.S: U can try sending in to big4s + medium size company. Get whatever u can, in this state of economy, its not as easy as last time I guess. Good luck! I'm a UK student U must be a first class student and are lucky to obtain a internship with a big4 in UK esp now that there is a downturn and preference are given to candidates from EU countries. It is next to impossible to get any placement nor internship in UK now. I even heard that some were paid off not to start work even though they hv confirmed their jobs last summer. Since u are in UK u shd know more about ICAS and if not go visit their office and find out more. ICAS is not run outside of UK and even ICAEW exams were only carried outsideof UK in recent years probably to increase their membership. All I can say is that ICAS is highly reputable anywhere in the world including Malaysia. Use the internship to find out more about a career in a public accounting firm and in particular this firm. They will use the internship to assess u so go and impress them!! |

If free, I suggest drop by to submit hard copy. But as far as im concerned. for PWC, online + email is enough, they will contact u quite fast. For KPMG, I had to submit a hard copy. Maybe they have less intervals on reviewing online application. And yeah, when i say hard copy, means go down to their office to submit ur resume lol. Good luck! |

Really need to find efficient way to save on parking and walking distance! If you want a cheaper parking, you can park your car at the new wing. People call it Dataran Car Park. Only RM 1 per entry. But you have to walk inside 1U for 10 mins. If you are too lazy to walk, you can take the shuttle van, provided by KPMG. |
