Yes. They will still consider.
You've got to know that the Big4 doesn't just do Audit (Assurance).
They have many departments and usually people I know with Non-Accounting
background apply for jobs in the Advisory / Consulting department. But if you
enjoy Auditing, just apply.. these firms have in-firm training for Non-Accounting graduates. 

Ok, went for an interview in Deloitte and BDO today. I can see that BDO is aggressively promoting their status as new "big 4". They changed the measuring criteria into "total mkt capitalisation" to be classified as big4. What are u guys opinion on this?

My opinion - Its like Manchester City. Yes, richer(market capitalisation so to say), but still not the big 4? yes, growing as well, just like how they plan to build their squad. But i still dont forsee them being a big 4 in at least next 3 years?

But I would say one plus point is that, they do pay higher for first class degree (well that was what i was told anyway).

Btw, apparently, deloitte doesnt pay extra for ACCA grads. Still remain at RM2450. Any ACCA grads in Deloitte mind sharing whether is this statement true?

I asked them, but they didnt mentioned. They said that basic was same as other big4s, I believe its RM2450. And, they will review on your degree class and "consider" rewarding on students' effort for obtaining a first class.

Share a fren's experience, he applied to PWC in November, only was interviewed in January.
And better, he starts working only in March..

So perhaps Big4 prefers to obtain ppl in batches lorh...hehe.

I went for a few interviews in the middle sized firms, this was after heeding advice that it might b better to start w these firms instead of the Big4...hehe.

Hi, ok I'm no senior in big4, but I think I can offer some help.

Its never too late to start work.. just start sending in applications, and they might take a while, approx 2 weeks to call u. Then they will schedule an interview. And after that, I only received my offer 1 month after interview. So, it realvly depends on when they call u and offer u the job

With second lower, its still possible, maybe in a disadvantage position, but who knows rite? No harm trying!

U can send ur resume online, or hard copy. If online, and they dont reply u after say 3 weeks, can send in a hard copy, or do it simultaneously, no harm.

Resume, transcripts (photostated) is required, maybe with photostat IC.

If in the event u get called for an interview, they will tell u what to bring.

P.S: U can try sending in to big4s + medium size company. Get whatever u can, in this state of economy, its not as easy as last time I guess.

I heard that the starting pays for freshies have been adjusted downwards now and the number of vacancies are also tighter. Is that true?

Deloitte offer me only 2.4k, so I guess so, but not KPMG.

About number of vacancies, I know that both Deloitte and KPMG is still hiring. Not sure about PWC and EY.

Deloitte always 2400 la, KPMG 2450.
