is this consider good car? how out the fuel consumption? is it ok?

what is your criteria for a good car?

like mentioned by alexei, best price in the range (of 7 seaters).
if you need more space or have more passengers, this wins over the alza, the other popular local cheap '5+2 MPV'.

fuel consumption, i'm still figuring it out, but it differs greatly between city drive, highway drive or combination.

Note: This post was about Exora Bold CVT lag, and CVT additives that I am using.

Wish you can provide more info about the noise.

For me, is during uphill that my car throttle respond is lagging, and even when throttle hard, the RPM just increase but speed goes up very slowly. A quick test, as long as my car can do 0-100 around 10s then it calms me down a bit.

Additional sharing on things me and my buddy looked into:
- Our CVT is push type metal belt immersed in oil. Asking a non-Proton car service shop, I was told the CVT need to flush to remove metal flakes from oil and change CVT oil filter.
- CVT treatment - XADO (Holland) 'revitalizant' can repair damaged metal surface. I am thinking to put this additive to my CVT when change gear oil at 30k. I know recommended CVT oil change is 60k. Google for price. Malaysia got XADO agent, but only for turbo engine treatment. Engine treatment also contain 'revitalizant' technology.

the noise was weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee(very loud) and my car was jerking badly already, luckily the engine dint die.
CVT light also dint come on.
I was otw back from penang to seremban.

I was driving around 170-195 because there was 1 bmw x1 trying to chase me,so i went above 180 and he cant catch up.i was cutting thru the left and right lane all the way at that speed.that x1 joined me on the road at ipoh.when i finally reached seremban toll, after touch and go,the gearbox suddenly gave that weeee noise and the car was jerking.i was like oh shit, gearbox is dead.but luckily nothing happen and i stopped at the traffic light, then only the jerking and the noise all gone.
I first thought the gearbox overheated but then it was a no because the CVT light did not come on!so then i suspected it must be the cvt clutch.in the club, many of them got this clutch slipping problem.
you can say i was racing with that bmw, hehehe.

the car was on full load,my family (5 of us) and 3rd row the bags and stuff.

prob is when in heavy stop and go traffic the car intermittently jerk if suddenly decelerate/release the gas pedal
then sometime followed by single/twice 'ktack..' sound coming from the left of engine compartment.

Looks like the same issue with me & some of the user here, which is the mounting prob. Bring to sc bro, let them hear the sound & definitely they'll know the issue. Scrollback few pages, we had discussed this earlier.

bro sKypRiNcE734 wow, salute you, at full loading with family you still can race with bmw rclxms.gif

Oh and I forgot to tel,if anyone want to change tire for the Exora,I recommend u Michelin Pilot Sport 3,I just changed my tire and Rim.i had a lot of problem with the K2 rim and Barum tyres, the whole car starts to shake above 90km/h.he took my car to his shop hq in Shah Alam, and guess what?he wanted to scrap my brake disk!he said this war causing the problem.so I told him to not touch anything because my car is under warranty.steering vibrating badly and car shaking, then finally he gave Rota TE37 for 1 week.used it,front continental tire, behind Michelin primacy st.it was "okay" but still had vibrations.then finally he gave me Enkei rim, original from Japan he says.once fixed that rim,he asked me to pay extra 400 because the k2 rim was 1200 and this Enkei rim is 1900.i told him I won't pay,u think fuel u give money?for almost 2 weeks my Exora was with the guy!i told him I'll talk to your boss and deduct the petrol u use!so he paid me back rm250!then after fixing the Enkei rim,the problem was solved but had slight vibrations.i took it to the specialist and he could fix my problem!i drove to penang and came back.no problem but only the gearbox for now.otw to penang also an X1 could not catch up.otw back to seremban also same.the Michelin PS3 I'm using cost me 500 for 1 piece.very expensive but very good.can feel the tire response during rain and so.

sKypRiNcE734Thanks for sharing. I'd be pissed if spending that amount of money and get such thing in return... I think is workmanship problem. One way to tell is if he put the round dot on tire against the air valve on the rim during installation?
So, end up cannot tell if it's rim or tire problem. Another question is, tire shop usually don't know what air pressure they put in, even though their pump has pressure gauge. I usually go petrol station and check it before use. Vibration can be due to over pressure.

The CVT, I hope nothing wrong for you.

its more then there now and i'm still with the stock tire. not as good as new, but still in good condition. not a problem either on hard braking or taking sharp coners, or speeding at high speed. soon or later got to change. thinking of other brands, or just stick to the original. what a scary common ypu got here. hmm.gif

Bridgestone EP200 I guess? That's one of the Nissan Grand Serena stock tires, energy saving I guess. Grip so so, I wouldn't mind.

Toyo is Malaysian made I think, maybe ok also.
