Better provide adequate documents for their reference, but you can try if you want. If rejected, you have to wait cool down period for you to be able to apply again.

yes, most of the banks also can consider this but whether approved or not is another story. so just try, no harm.

Since this is a new thread, I think you should take the trouble to update all the latest T&C instead of copy ronnie's and my previous outdated info when we started V1 and V2.

For examples

a. latest policy for annual fee waiver for One Card, Plat and VI.
b. latest conditions for 5% cash back for Petrol with One Card and imperative that you highlight that the 5% is not guaranteed.
c. New T&C for Preferred Plat airport lounge FREE access.

i think the special promo code only valid one day (yesterday 11.11.14).
besides, only one voucher code can be used at one time.

yes i know, even now they are selling the RM250 gift card at 10% discount (not sure yest got this 10% or not), else using uob code you can get the RM250 at RM205
but i hv other promo codes as well brows.gif

btw, found the tnc for the gift card:
Terms of Use
No minimum purchase is stipulated for the use of this voucher and it is valid for 1 year from the date of shipping. These Lazada Vouchers cannot be used together with other unique codes issued by Lazada for purchase-related purposes (such as discount vouchers) on the Lazada Website.

All vouchers can only be used for ONE purchase transaction. In the event that the purchase transaction has a lesser value that the voucher used, the remaining balance of the voucher will be forfeited.

Yes, I made it RM300+ with another item, so if divide according to the ratio, the RM250 voucher would only cost me RM187.50 rclxms.gif

I saw a deal (forgot which item) that comes with a free Lazada voucher so I typed voucher in the search column and found it. But there is only RM250 voucher. If you read the description it mentioned that these vouchers are available in values of RM50, RM100, RM150 and RM250 hmm.gif The one I bought is one lump RM250 voucher.

yes, i saw that description which is why i asked whether you can separate your vouchers into rm50 each to be used 5 times. but seems like it can't as we need to buy the exact figure to use (rm250 in your case). what's the expiry date they give you?

Nope, has to be used at one go. I have yet to receive the voucher, the description said it is valid 1 year from the shipping date. Should be 12th Nov 2015?

this is weird, they are sending you physical voucher? i thought they can just send out by email since they are doing online business. lol...

if i bought this rm250 voucher yesterday with uob cc, i could have saved another rm25, which made a total of rm75 saving!

The illustration shown is sort of like a gift card, so I am expecting a physical voucher to arrive at my door step.

Correct, that is if you add up to RM300. Even without UOB cc, you can still get other rebate such as welcomeNL for RM10 off etc, or better yet, since the voucher is under home and living, you might get another 10% off on Monday for Mastercard Promo drool.gif

no, you can't just leave it like that because once a cc is approved you need to pay for the rm50 gst. so either you complain to uob (or even to bnm) to convert your cc or you apply for another uob one to accompany your uob vox and pay for 2 gst.

Thanks for the reply.
If this is the case then I would try to convert it. Or any pros if I stay on vox since I have not to pay the annual fee.
Basically, my priority for petrol... vox is great for online transaction.
Do correct me if any mistaken above. thank you.

yes, you are right on the main features/benefits = one card for petrol and vox for online.

but if you try to convert, you need to be firm and say that you have indeed applied for one card not vox card (if you can prove it will be even better). or you may try to say that you will take further action to complain to bnm.

yes, mbb2amex is a good choice for all your targeted usage during weekends.

for uob one, you can get 5% daily for petrol, 5%+5% daily for movie at gsc, shopping at hypermarkets 2%. more information can refer to post #1 or regarding to its t&c.

this is weird, they are sending you physical voucher? i thought they can just send out by email since they are doing online business. lol...

if i bought this rm250 voucher yesterday with uob cc, i could have saved another rm25, which made a total of rm75 saving!
*
Just received the voucher today, sealed in an envelope.
Attached Image
But the weird thing is no expiry date stated on the voucher, I will note it down on G. Calender then sweat.gif

"insert code here" is actually the code right?

this is really funny. they spent on the courier fee to send you a physical voucher just to show you a code.

i rather they give me another rm10 discount (save from the costs of printing/paper/envelope/courier/etc.) and just email the code to me. lol...

but there are chances that people only buy the voucher, or people buy the voucher together with other item(s) not sold/fulfilled by lazada. so they have to "purposely" courier the voucher then. biggrin.gif

i hope uob has another offer code for lazada so that i can buy this voucher. tongue.gif

When is your cc anniversary date? UOB have had such promo twice this year as far as I know, one in July and another this month. If it is not for such promo I might cancel my card next year.

Edit: Today also have Mastercard promo, 10% off for the RM250 cash voucher, so effective saving is RM47.50 (19%). Not even counting cb/points from CC.

Yeah 19.8% is already a great deal. Too bad when there is promo like today's the voucher cannot be used, otherwise one might save up to 43.7% [10% from Mastercard promo + 32.2% from Lazada voucher (10% off + RM50 off from UOB) + 1%/1.2% from OCBC Mastercard CC + 0.3% from UOB ] blush.gif

kelvinlzy i'm not sure whether it's an error or not.

if purchase the rm250 voucher with uob cc now, can get rm20 discount. total to be paid = rm205. (but if purchase 2x the rm250 voucher, there is no discount) shakehead.gif

but i think choose ocbc tmc better since the discount will be 10% and total to be paid = rm202.50.

you will have 20 days time to pay your credit card statement amount from your statement date. if you don't want to wait until your statement come, you may also register to view online.

Hi Thanks for your quick reply. May I know the 5% rebate on VOX card applied on every online transaction apart from paying bill, utilities and etc etc right?

I doubt that.

In order to get access to UOB Online (internet banking), you need the PIN. UOB practice is they won't send you the PIN. You need to request the PIN at the branch or fax/fill in some forms. I don't think they also accept PIN request via CS in phone.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think you need to do it at the counter.

If you dont have time to visit their branch, you can request the pin number via mail. Means they will send you the pin number via Mail.
Then you need to proceed to the ATM with the pin to activate your online account.

If i remember correctly, the PIN number will be send separately by mail after active your card by calling them, and no need process to ATM but active it from the UOB banking after get the PIN number

If you do it at the branch, no T-Pin is required. You will be asked to key in 7 digits (temporary) on the spot.

Previously I call CS and they will send the PIN to my house in 1-2weeks. Then just go nearest UOB ATM to activate the PIN. It was one year ago.

Should I take it?

I was offered the same upgrade. Gonna take it and still keep my One card for petrol cash back.

Did the telemarketer told you it's either 24 transactions OR 50k per year? I asked but she say they will see the transactions and if you call them to waive for following years, it'll usually be waived. Also, the girl told me first 2 years annual fee is waived. Did you take the offer?

Hi, just wondering will I be charged RM50 per principal card if I cancelled the credit card before activation? I was kind of forced to sign up for this credit card as the salesperson said I could cancel the card after signing up but now I'm worried about the government service tax. The cards are the UOB ladies and One card.
Is it true that I will get RM50 cashback with n swipes within a time frame to offset the government service tax then?
Is the annual fee for the first year waived?

yeah, you may check with them regarding this. not sure whether this promo still on. if yes, you can have both your gst absorbed by uob for the first year. then you may cancel your cards before the next gst kicks in. nod.gif

Yes. You need to pay GST. As I mentioned in previous post, don't expect UOB to absorb GST. It is a stingy bank. Even if you spend >100k per year, they won't waive for you also. If you are looking your GST waiver, then UOB definitely not your choice.

Hi Guys,

I noticed every month, when the bill comes, my VOX will have Rm 6 administrative fee charges even though I do not have any transaction in the card.

Any idea what is that?
*
check post #1, you need to swipe at least once a month to waive that.

it's ok, actually i just put up the info in this v3 thread 12 days ago. the info was not there previously in v2 thread.

by the way, how many times you have been charged with that rm6 already? sounds not worth to get this card having to pay rm6 monthly without utilising its benefits.

The 900k Petrol rebate thingy is getting not enough, Last month I pump petrol within first 20 days of the month only amounted around RM300 but in my statement I only get RM3 cash rebate on petrol... They should increase the cap as Petrol price went up... does any other credit card also have this crappy cap for petrol?

Based on the cash rebate amount it seems like only the first transaction I get cash rebate which falls before 5th day of the month, because I usually pump RM60+ - each time
RM60 * 5% = RM3

Ok... now that's ridiculous... my 2nd pump should be somewhere around 10th - 15th of the month

5% if pump in between 1st to 13th. any pumps after 13th most probably 0% already.

additional 2% if you pump at bhp.

based on experience, all my petrol transactions from 1st to 13th all get 5% rebate. if 14th will be 50%-50%. usually i will stop using it after 13th, so my cashback maintain at 5%+2% at bhp.

I am using this CC mainly for petrol. That's why it's easy for me to monitor the rebate.

Hi, want to ask regarding the payment due date.

Basically, I'm shifting into a new comp, and my prev salary cleared upon 20th every month and the payment due is 23rd. Now, the comp, salary only clear on 30th every month. Is there a way to change the due date later (or earlier)? Thanks.

No, after the quota finished, u get ZERO rebate for petrol.

So, I only pump up to around 15th of the month (for other petrol brands)

After 15th I use other card e.g. OCBC Titanium to get at least 1% rebate

But if u pump BHPetrol, u still get 2% SmartCash after 15th

Just received and activated my VI card. rclxm9.gif

Does online bill payments or online shopping count as one of the 3 swipes to waive the first RM50 GST?

Stupid UOB gave me both VI and Lady's card so I have to swipe 3 times within 60 days on each card to waive the RM50 GST. Understand even if I don't activate the Lady's card, I'm still responsible to pay the GST.

when i read your first comment, you sound like person who is fierce and strict. tongue.gif but in reality you are not fierce enough? hmm.gif

yes, even though you don't activate it you still responsible to pay the gst. anyway, online bill payments or online shopping count as a swipe.

tips: you may split your bill payment to smaller amount to be counted as a few swipes. or swipe at petrol stations (at the pump) with small amount like rm1 each. brows.gif

I'm not fierce in reality tongue.gif Only time I was scolding over the phone to the CS was when Airasia cancelled my free ticket flight to somewhere I was really looking forward to go and did not inform me at all until I found out about it from my friend. That one really angry la, otherwise I cannot fierce. laugh.gif

Anyway, yesterday sunday shopping already swipe 3 times for VI, now wait for the other card so I can pay my insurance and some utility bills online. biggrin.gif

yes, normal. their retention team will call you to offer something to retain you. it's up to you to accept and remain as a customer or reject and proceed to terminate.

called customer service to request card cancellation last week, just now i try to login to see my statement, but unable to do so.
all outstanding has been cleared, but it has become my habit to login and check 2,3 days once.

as some forumer mentioned, card will be blocked from usage, but unable to view statement online?
this is the normal practice?

Called CS just now and confirmed that GST has been charged on November 18th, 2014. Asked for waiver but failed and therefore, proceed for card cancellation.

Also noticed that I was an overpayment and SmartCash that I have no chance to redeem.

how much is your overpayment + smart$? if more than rm50, then can just use the money first and pay the gst, then only proceed for cancellation.
if can't cancel also doesn't matter since it's already extended for another year (indirectly) by doing this.

but since you still have overpayment there, maybe they have to refund you the balance before terminating your cc. if they don't, perhaps high chances that they will offer to retain you as their customer.

Well Citibank is quite smart in handling GST and AF.

Based on my expeirence, CBB doesn't charge both on the same month. They charge GST on the anniversary month and AF on the following month after the GST month. If you choose to pay the GST, then you have the urge to use the card till next year but once AF is charged on the following month and not waivable, you will run into emotion of cancelling the CC since AF is usually higher than GST. You have forgotten that you have already paid for the GST.

Just my two cents.

that's why for a cc with af, we should only choose to continue with the cc that you can afford to pay the af, or the cc that the benefits can cover back the af.

Nevermind won't fall for the similar trap again. Already cancel Citibank CBP once AF charged even though GST paid. That card is no longer in the CCRIS record.

For pumping petrol, uob one card is not a good card as you only can rebate on first half of the month. Suggest for other cards. There are plenty in market.

Hi. I'm fairly new to credit cards and I apologize if this question has been asked. For the Vox Visa, is there a minimum purchase amount to get the cash back?

Is this card good for moderate spenders (less than RM300/month), mostly online like me?

After reading about the Smart rebate, I still do not understand and would really appreciate it if someone can explain it to me.

What are the cons of this card ya?

Thank you in advance to all the sifus here.

IINM there is no minimum purchase amount to get rebate. Smart Rebate is like a reward point, much like MBB's TreatPoint but in cash. So far the cons for this card is only the monthly fees of RM6/month but if you swipe it at least 1 time per month the fee is waived. I also have vox and so far use it to pay my bills only.

for uob one cc, all the while is 5%(cb)+2%(smart$).
for other uob cc, all the while is 1%(smart$).

so this promo 5%(cb)+3%(smart$) is not much benefit for uob one cc holders.

1) hlb wise 10% but with strict t&c like min 10x >rm50 to activate the 10% cb.
2) mbb2amex 5%+5xtp but 5% only given for weekends transaction.

There are no best cards for petrol. It depends on
1) your annual income/ your eligibility of the cards
2) the petrol brand that you need
3) the amount you spend on petrol each months

Eg..Maybank VS CC is good for petrol but not everyone entitled.

Details please refer to common questions forum.

This RM400 per mth cap is ridiculously high. 400/.03=RM13,333 petrol per mth; most people don't even earn RM13,333 per mth, so how can one use RM13,333 petrol per mth ?

this rm400 cap is on expenses, means that 3% of rm400 = rm12 max rebate.

this rm400 cap is on expenses, means that 3% of rm400 = rm12 max rebate.
*

OUB One card has 3 rebates - grocery at 2%, petrol at 5% and others at 0.3%. So what is this 3% rebate on expenses ? What type of expenses ?

http://www1.uob.com.my/personal/promotions...ard_051214.html

1) 5% rebate to any petrol brand subject to RM 900k quota monthly and your card level monthly quota (RM 25 for ONE Platinum, RM 15 for ONE Classic).

2) 3% Smart$ on weekends at BHP petrol only.

If and only if, you choose to pump at BHP, you'll get 5% (quota not exhausted) + 3% Smart$ on weekends (subject to RM 12 quota per month till 31 January 2015).

The T&C is so complicated. So UOB!

i think uob just want to target those who use mbb2amex to shift to use uob to pump at bhp with that extra 1% on weekends.

beause now is equal...
uob 5%+2%(smart$) vs mbb2amex 5%+2%(tp).

but the problem is mbb has no rebate allocation like uob.

no....do u mean early the month better chance to get the rebate?

last 2 months i used mbb amex

let's analyze it i still actively use it to shell station in agust

6/8/ RM75.01
15/8 RM78.65
23/8 RM36.94
24/8 RM69.51

total is RM260.11
rebate only 3.75

at first i thought still have 2-3% but after i did my analysis

no........only 1.44169% vmad.gif

but now i only realize only 6/8 RM75.01 entitled the 5% doh.gif
so i think only use it at petrol early of the month then you only can get the 5%

not expert la, just a user only... sweat.gif

actually 14th still can get, maybe 50%-50% chance. because some of my petrol transaction on 14th can get but some can't.
so to be safe, pump from 1st to 13th sure can get 5%. nod.gif

another thing to note, in recent this 2 months, many uob one cc holders cancelled their card or ceased to use their card. so the rm900k allocation can last longer. but this one you need to try out yourself. laugh.gif

UOB called me just now (+0391952720) said they're offering me GST waiver and 3 years AF waiver. They'll unblock my card in 30 mins time.

Sounds a good deal to me.

I cancelled my card previously and they called back to retain me, I said I have already split the card into half (which I didn't), they said its ok, will get a new card for me FOC. I purposely said that because the old card looked terrible and the numbers are almost unreadable.

No way to redeem it via the points collected? I am UOB One holder, if they plan to charge annual fee, which is much more than accumulated total cash back I received, then not worth holding this card anymore.

Anyone received complimentary GSC movie tickets from UOB? I received their call last week, said they will post a gift to me as a token of appreciation. Since it is handwritten I assume UOB is not giving out a lot.

Dear All,

i just got my UOB one plat and UOB Lady's platinum, but haven't activate those cards yet because the more i read the more i get confuse.

actually what is the cap for petrol per month? i saw somebody is saying "money pool" and also stop using after 13th of the month?

i also saw that the condition to waived the annual fee of RM168 is to swipe card for 60 times and spend RM36K per year? impossible for me to spend 36K per year ... what about GST ,how to waive this?

as for the lady's platinum, what is the condition to waive GST and annual fee?

Please advise...thanks in advanced.

The general pool is RM 900k and based on most of the swipers here, that pool will be very likely to be exhausted by 13th of every month. To be safe, it's better to swipe for petrol from 1st to 13th of every month for UOB ONE card.

On top of that, there's another limit called individual card quota which depends on card level: RM 25 for UOB ONE platinum (equivalent to RM 500 usage) and RM 15 for UOB ONE classic (equivalent to RM 300 usage)

For GST and waiver for UOB ONE, you can try to get waiver by threatening to cancel to card. They will very likely offer you a waiver by their card retention team.

Most of us able to get GST waiver and 3-years AF waiver too!

Good luck and happy swiping with UOB.

i emailed their customer service, this is their reply, she said there is NO annual fees waive for second year onwards, everyone has to pay it  sad.gif

nowadays all have to call the cs to waive.

You may check out cimb cash rebate credit card or uob vox. Aside from those promo specific to lazada (if any, I’m not sure uob has), they also have rebate if you purchase things online. For cimb, there’s a 10% discount during weekend, of course, selected items, t&c applies, etc…

refer some post here... and this. there's gold/platinum version... just be careful with the t&c... and also uob vox card. remember to read t&c

Hope you can share your experience. Thanks!

So I redeemed the voucher today at BHP. And yes, you can get 20 epoints for the redemption.

The Payment Card Reform Framework

Bank Negara Malaysia today issued the Payment Card Reform Framework (Framework) as a standard under the Financial Services Act 2013 and the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013, with the objective of fostering an efficient, transparent and competitive payment card industry in Malaysia. The Framework incorporates the proposals set out in the Concept Paper issued on 10 October 2014, while also taking into account the feedback received during the consultation process.

The Framework seeks to ensure that the cost of accepting payment cards is fair and reasonable through the establishment of an objective and transparent mechanism for the reimbursement of fees among payment card network participants. Under the Framework, ceilings are imposed on interchange fees payable by the acquiring banks to the payment card issuing banks. As the interchange fees are reflected in the merchant discount rates (MDRs) paid by merchants, the ceilings would address the risk of escalation in the MDRs due to indiscriminate increases in interchange fees. As a general principle, the interchange fee ceilings for debit card based on its eligible cost components are much lower than that of credit card. This principle makes the debit card a more cost-effective payment instrument to facilitate greater card acceptance especially among small merchants.

The Framework also introduces a series of measures which are designed to address other distortions in the payment card market in order to promote greater usage and acceptance of cost-effective payment cards. Such measures would improve the price signals and empower merchants to accept cost-effective payment cards.

The Framework would be implemented in phases commencing from 15 January 2015, with the majority of the measures including the interchange fee ceilings, becoming effective on 1 July 2015.

For further information on the Framework, please refer to the frequently asked questions (FAQs) and the standard available at the Bank Negara Malaysia's website at www.bnm.gov.my.

5% Cash Rebate for petrol
- Capped at RM500 for UOB ONE Platinum card and RM300 for UOB ONE Classic card per month
- Maximum monthly Cash Rebate payout for the rebate category of petrol is RM900,000 which is to be given out on a first come first serve basis, based on UOBM’s transaction records

looking for a petrol card for discount. Average monthly spending on petrol is Rm 250. Does that mean that for the 5% rebate, Rm 900,000 is allocated throughout the year and only eligible first come first serve basis?

How can we know that? =.='
