i'm going to pay a deposit to lock the CNY promo up for the Z5.

though, here is some questions i have for the beast i'm gonna own:

1. How maintainable is the machine? Like cleaning the fans/vents/etc.

2. How long does the thermal paste wears off? Any advice to replacing the paste by DIY or sending back to Illegear?

3. Since the battery is locked inside and it takes some works to remove it. How would u suggest if i mostly using the machine with power plugged in, is that better to put aside the battery? Will that affect battery health?

Hi freeze,

1. Removing the bottom case then you can easily access to the fans and heatsink.

2. Normally we suggest re-pasting once a year depends on your usage. We suggest you to bring it back to have our experience engineer to do it.

3. We have received many enquiries regarding this. Per our test, it doesn't make much difference to the battery lifespan even if you unplug your battery. Battery dies eventually if you leave there too long uncharged.

Tried, Yes the speaker has problem, the right one is ok.. would bring to illegear to fix.

Finally got my z5!. But... Seems like it cant connext to unifi... However, i have no problems connecting to other wifi... Compatibility issue?

That seems weird, if connecting to other WIFI is having no issue, then it mostly is not a hardware issue. What wifi card are you using ? AC ?
Well try check your router settings, see you got use any limitation settings or not. Maybe you router is set to allow only a list of IP and you didn't include your Z5 mac ip into it.

My Z5 arrived but cant feel it yet.. Fcuk. Cant wait to go back now

Hey guys, I noticed a pattern while getting BSOD during boot up.

If I plugged in before I open the laptop, it most probably get an BSOD ( First boot of the day).

To justify this, I tried power on z5 before I plugged in to power source. This grant me 7 days without a BSOD and still counting.

Just an experience talk, I'll try for longer period and report back.

You haven't send in your laptop yet ? It has been a while already. I'm amaze you still can tahan the frequent BSOD issue when using your laptop

Well, it just occurred during the first boot up of the day (mostly), and sometimes when the comp awake from sleep, it goes black. I probably would go to KL 2 more weeks later for 3-4 days. Would bring-in to check whatever issues I had on the laptop during that time.

was suppose to get my unit last week. waited without any updates. so last sunday contacted them and they mixed up order lol

suppose to arrive to sarawak but im going back KL this weekend. so had them ship there. prince J said my unit shipped in evening. and next day got guy call me say my stuff arrive at apartment d at noon lol
