QUOTE(Sophiera @ Jan 8 2015, 06:11 PM) Dunno what pills ooo. Just knew she tried to kill herself and everything is so bleak to her. Sigh. I have my times during depression as well, and as one becomes terribly depressed, it will become a drug, where it is more comfortable to choose gloom and depression over any opportunities for happiness. The only thing that snap me out of it is that usually the spiral of depression is always tiring, and it is way too tired to stay in depression.Show care and concern also not really accepted. Felt like, everyone and everything betraying her kesian. I hope your friend do not just take the easy way out. Try to continue talking to her. People like her really needs people to talk to to, I've been there, I know (not to the point of being suicidal though). |

Hope that she can accept them lah, but fmjsgkhfjdsfkdslGhjdsfhds I dunno man.... There are times I feel like dying, but one of the most effective way from stopping me from thinking like that was this:"Even if I were to die sadly, I must make sure I'll make the people around me to be happy first. This way, it's better that I suffer alone, than to allow the people around me to suffer." And with that thinking alone snapped me out of depression during those times, simply because I wanted to help people first before I die in vain. While it may sound like a sound and morbid technique to stay alive, it is one of my many ways to alleviate myself from sadness, that is, to at least provide happiness to others, so that my sadness will never reach/affect them. Other than that, I suppose a lot of people have different painful experiences, and I don't intend to judge at all. I only wish that sometimes I should be helping out a suicide hotline before I die. I dunno...maybe you can use this story the next time you talk to her, whichever helps. This post has been edited by Deadlocks: Jan 8 2015, 08:10 PM |

QUOTE(De_Luffy @ Jan 7 2015, 11:52 PM) tina, what he said does make sense you are right too, suffering come from devil yes it's true but he left out the words God allowed it, remember Job? Yeah dude, I remember the story of Job.QUOTE(ngaisteve1 @ Jan 8 2015, 12:06 AM) ya Usually at the end of the month, I'm quite tempted because malls usually have end of month sales. 1 Co 10: 13 "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." QUOTE(unknown warrior @ Jan 8 2015, 12:17 AM) Actually the whole context of Romans 9 is talking about Salvation where Righteousness is by Faith vs by Works (Human Effort). Something that we cannot obtain by our merit. Why God choose to open up this offer to the gentile world (all non jews - meaning us) rather than retaining it only to the Jew and change the way to obtain righteousness by way of the Law to the way of Faith. Are you sure? Everything that was orchestrated, in the signs and the types and the history of the OT of making Salvation known, why He ended the Old Covenant and established a New one in the NT.....In all that orchestrating God is sovereign. That it's by God's grace or mercy, why things happened the way it happened in the OT. That is the meaning. You'll notice the key phrase is mentioned in verse 8 and 16 of the same chapter. And why He talk about Children of the promise (Isaac) divine birth that is later repeated in more detail explanation in Galatians 4:21-31. You will understand better why Paul was trying to establish in Chapter 9 when you start to read in verse 30 to 33 and then when you see the next chapter in Romans 10, its all about Righteousness by Faith. That is the context. Suffering is not really the subject here in Romans 9. |

QUOTE(tinarhian @ Jan 8 2015, 08:19 PM) I'm quite careful when it comes to Bible exposition. If You have your bible with you, turn to Romans Chapter 9 and see why it starts talking about the Salvation of Israel in verse 6 all the way to verse 9 and why it starts talking about God being sovereign in the scheme of his choosing people from verse 10 all the way to verse 24 and why it starts talking about opening Salvation to the Gentiles in verse 25 all the way to verse 29. THEN in verse 30 to 33, why does the starting verse starts like this: What then shall we say? It means that the preceding explanation from verse 6 to 29 is to support what it's trying to conclude in verse 30 to 33. Which btw.....if you notice verse 30 to 33 talks about Righteousness by Faith vs works. What has that got to do with suffering? |

QUOTE(de1929 @ Jan 8 2015, 04:00 PM) yes. don't take loan to buy house / car. he is asking for devotional material you go give other thing pulak If you want to buy house / car, sow the seed in a ministry that put Christ no 1. most people today already have car before they married lar, are you trying to ask them to sell off all their possessions and give all to the church? not to say cannot but how are they going to survive if like this they are not lucky like you, salary man only.......... |

QUOTE(tinarhian @ Jan 8 2015, 08:50 PM) Awww, dude, I quoted the wrong verse! It's alright, we all learn. http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2014102...y-a-annoyed.gif I hate it when I'm wrong. Du gehst mir auf die nerven. Chapter 9 speaks of Israel rejection, because they rejected Jesus as Messiah, God opened this Salvation to the world as a sign to the Jews to spite them to jealousy. Actually all in all, God still cares for them, wanting them to be saved. (Romans 10:21) |
