Yes, I got 10% off via phone renewal as well somewhere Jun/July 2014.
The CS even offer to swipe my Amex on Saturday even before I request.
But I noticed their estimated current car value is higher (and hence payable premium) than other insurance companies.

About 10-20% higher than other companies. So getting TPs or rm50 cash back won't really help sweat.gif
2 years with Etiqa and 3rd year year will be on other companies.

But their 10% discount actually bring the premium around the same as other companies.
There are also other factors one must consider, like excess, loading, car age, adding named new car driver (P license), etc.
Different companies have different treatments and charges...
Just not to be OT too much...at the end I just go with eTiQa using Amex. tongue.gif

With extra hassle on getting the road tax, nope, no more swiping AMEX for car insurance.
And not to mention I also getting extra discount if I go personally to other insurance company so it is cheaper.

sorry for OT.

yup... i went to aeon big, check the usual item and the pricing at least 10-15% higher than tesco...
even aeon supermarket also 5-10% higher than tesco...
so i will buy certain items from tesco on weekend using my amex...

QUOTE(supersound @ Dec 26 2014, 08:41 AM)
Case by case, when each of them throwing the price, it is really lower. That's why you need to read newspaper everyday.
Like Quaker Oats, I got it at Tesco for rm10.90(others rm13), 1.35kg with 600g FOC and I got F&N softdrinks for rm2.65(others rm3.20) at AeonBig.
But non of them selling 2kg Milo for rm29.99-30.99 doh.gif
*
ot: i'm a heavy grocery shopper (maximising hlb wise x2 and mbb2amex x2 every month). actually each supermarket/hypermarket has their own cheaper items to sell. for quaker oats, giant selling 1.35kg free air tight container to fit 2kg soft pack for rm10.89.
as i mentioned before, i have my reasons to visit each supermarket/hypermarket for different items. my most frequently visited places are mydin, tesco, aeon big, 99speedmart, giant, jaya grocer, aeon.. followed by my less frequently visited places like econsave, the store, hero, nsk..

You can't really says it is off topic. As only Etiqa accepting AMEX and not other insurance companies. But they charge higher premium to offset it.
We discuss more is to understand all the pros and cons.
After all, what we want is to get the most out of our limited money.

I'm sure you can find a more suitable thread to discuss that. Or create your own thread.

got this message when i tried to book a hotel at agoda.

" We are unable to pre-authorize your credit card.
Please ensure that the number is entered correctly.
AGODA only accepts credit cards (Visa, Master Card, AMEX, JCB and Carte Bleue).
If you continue to experience the same problem, please try a different credit card or contact your bank. Thank you."

did the transaction at 10.00am. One at agoda & another one at expedia, both at the same time. Transaction in expedia was okay but agoda didn't go through sad.gif

too many wrong info given on this thread about etiqa txn with amex

1) u still can renew the policy using amex even it's not available via online etiqa web. to renew policy, we may call etiqa hotline 1300-13-8888 on any day and request the officer to call back, or just give the car and card info. to gain weekend rebate, ask the officer to swipe on weekend. no need to call on weekend, save the hassle to go to any etiqa office

2) the premium of the policy is fully customize down to RM12k sum insured. etiqa just proposed the sum insured based on estimation market value. if u think the value is too high, lower it based on what sum insured u want

3) the 10% discount given by etiqa is eligible for all of online txn, over the phone and over the counter txn. this is extra discount on top of your car ncd

Is there anyway to earn the weekend 5% rebate using MBB2 Amex to buy from a merchant who accepts Paypal only, and the item is quoted in RM only?

Bought two more units of iPhone 6 this morning and based on my previous two times purchases, they were charged immediately. The full amount I meant. sad.gif
Out of nowhere, it only charged me RM 1 for authorization, this is not the first time for me to use this credit card in Apple Store. sad.gif

I called Maybank and they said no issue for my credit card but they only received the RM 1 charge so far. My weekend AmEx rebate.... cry.gif I got the rebate last month...

I did receive email from Apple Store for my order and can find this order in Apple online but didn't charge any amount yet. Sigh.

What could be the problem? sad.gif
