Hmm, shall we have a list of foods for people who want to diet and for bodybuilders. Like how you cook it, steam it and etc. When there are alot of foods in the list, please consider to pin this thread up.

I will add all the foods in the list.

I only know some, still got alot more to learn.

- Rice (Small portion, half bowl for diet, 2 bowls for bodybuilders)
- Chicken breast (Steam style, apply some salt and ginger, or just salt.)
- Plain oat (For starter, add some raisins in it!)
- Green & Red vegetables (Such as Brocoli, carrot, salad vege (Eat raw, tasty sial! wub.gif )
- Tuna sandwiches (Just plain tuna without mayonis. Remember to buy those tuna in water, not those tuna in oil. Add some cucumbers, and a little of chilli sauce (1 small teaspoon) will do.
- Fruits (The best recommended fruits are Oranges and Apples (Red & Green).
- Milk (Get HL Milk )
- Whey

- Combo* Oats + whey + HL milk + peanut butter or banana (All natural, no added sugar as ingredient), adding tuna is optional.
- Combo* Whey + HL milk + blended oats + raisin + apricot + almond + honey.
- Combo* Grill marinated slice beef + whole meal bread + peanut butter (the crunchy type) + a little bit of chill sause + vege.

zeist, nice list. But what's wrong with choc flavor for HL milk? smile.gif I need it if my whey is vanilla.

And the rice, small bowl, i don't agree, if you're eating post workout, sometimes i take 2 bowls of rice. It's a good source of high GI carbs.

Anyway, overall a pretty good list.

i dunno, half a bowl of rice per meal seems awfully light if youre eating the normal 3 meals per day. i dont micromanage my food and i dont count calories and such, do you get enough carbs per meal with that kind of diet to prevent muscle shrinking?

anyway, imo, one can lose fat weight while eating a full meal 3 times a day. i did. exercise and balanced diet > low carb diets.

Yeah, i feel that at the end of the day, in the grand scheme of things, it's calories in vs out. Some people may call char kuay teow fattening, but if you eat one plate of that a day and nothing else, you're still gona be skinny.

And tuna, plain tuna in water, no matter how low in fat it is, if you eat 20 cans of it a day, you're still gonna be fat. Calories in vs out.

I feel apart from what you said which is important of course, nutrient timing is also a very important factor. So, it's calories in vs out + when you take those calories in.

Oh... haha. Be mroe specific la.

Ok guys, try this, my fav bulking shake.

Oats, whey, milk and peanut butter OR banana (all natural, no added sugar as ingredient), ADDING TUNA IS OPTIONAL.

Btw, most of you don't realize this, but honey is like 50% of the post workout solution. Very good non fattening high GI carb to be added into the PWO shake.

eh, can actually make a recipe out of this.

blender oats, milk, peanut butter, banana and ice cubes together (ADDING TUNA IS OPTIONAL). ultimate breakfast shake.

any idea where to get peanut butter without sugar and trans fat? lady's choice and all the likes do more harm than good.

That's ok, but for an immediate PWO shake, almonds aren't advised cos even though it's good fat in there, it slows down the absorption and digestion of protein.

that's not the post workout shake, i took the whey shake after workout and shower and then only this meal. But it was the past.. now no more doing this, too expensive to be like that, i rather keep on eating outside for every 2~3 hours even through the food is not high in protein but cheap.

orgainc shop got those peanut butter, but they are freaking expensive.

Ermm.... not no trans fat, it dont have the hydrogenerated fat. And the sugar part, i'm not sure.. Those cost about rm20 per bottle.

Yea ok, healthy food. Much better than those fried mee hoon, fried rice, fried eggs. shakehead.gif

You might want to add 2 half boiled eggs, eat more.

Some people say that, scientific proven, eating 2 eggs daily (including the yolk) is not a big issue, is normal.

half boiled egg cannot fully absorb the protein, do you know that? It is harder for you to digest also. Hard boiled egg is much better in term of protein absorption.

I think a little sambal is ok, I apply mayolite and ketchup.
"whey" is whey protein powder, protein supplement.

for breakfast, oats and milk would be the best because oats have protein and that it does absorb fat to an extent.

So no need to pening bout breakfast smile.gif

You're gonna crash and burn if you do this. I've seen it all too often. The more radical the change, hte greater the likelihood of failure. Especially when it comes to Malaysian food.

I don't know why some of you guys make cutting so complicated. Just eat a little less than what you're normally eating everyday. 3 tablespoons less rice from the plate, or one tablespoon less of oats in the morning, etc.

no, oats are not fattening per se.

it all depends to how much you consume, a non-fattening food can still make you fat if you eat too much and you can lose weight eating what you like/fattening foods if you eat in moderation while exercising.

Anything taken in EXCESS will make you fat. The healthiest food, taken excessively, will make you godamnned fat.

Anything taken in moderation, will not make you fat, as long as suitable excercises are incorporated into your daily routine.

WTh's so hard to understand about this anyway? Take a tonne of milk daily, and sleep, you get fat. Take a tonne of cabbage and do nothing, you'll still get fat.
Take a kilo of fried pork, excercise like a dog, and you're okay.

egg white vs tuna vs chicken

I know egg white has the best protein absorbtion rate and also the cheapest but sucks in preparation(boil em, peel em.. messy)

canned tuna- 75 percent more expensive than egg white. maybe lower protein absorbtion rate. contain essential minerals.

chicken- never try yet. pls comment

whats the best protein food thats easy to prepare? other than whey.

I think you should eat all of them.
shouldn't rely on one source.

for me, the hard boiled egg is the easiest to prepare. Go search online how to cook and prepare the hard boiled egg correctly. There are tons of them out there, quick and easy, less than 10 minutes.

Try not to overload on tuna eh, as it contains mercury which is bad for you in excess. Eggs are good unless you have a cholesterol problem, then cut down on the yolks. Also you missed milk (although whey is from cow's milk), drinkin cartoned milk has zero preparation time, stick in a straw and suck it in.

half boiled egg cannot fully absorb the protein, do you know that? It is harder for you to digest also. Hard boiled egg is much better in term of protein absorption.

How about raw egg? The image of Stallone in Rocky cracking 6 eggs into a mug and drinking all in one shot is still in my mind.

Those of you mentioning chicken breast, be sure it is skinless chicken breast. Skins are so fattening (except fish skin).

For cereals, can try those fruits and bran stuff (like Posts brand) instead of the children cereal like Koko Krunch, Coco Pops, Honey Star, etc.

Yah I have a question about the egg yolks - since they are high in cholesterol, does skipping them have any effect in protein absorption? Since I read the protein is all in the whites anyway.

And something about this thread - wouldn't food for dieters and bodybuilders be radically different anyway, in terms of (but not limited to) volume.

Hmm dunno about absorption but I'm pretty sure the whites does not contain all the protein... yolks have proteins as well.

absorption rate for protein is the best in solid form, which mean the egg suppose to cook it or boil it until the egg white become visible white colour. The best is hard boil it. For those raw egg, human body cannot fully absorb it as most of it will be wasted. That's why for those who drink so many raw egg white everyday, after drink so much still the same.

Furthermore, half-boiled eggs taste like phlegm to me... laugh.gif And it's easier to separate the yolk of a hard-boiled egg than half-boiled egg.

I f***ing hate eggs. I know a lot of people will tell me they're a bodybuilder's best friend but they look like sperm to me. Most of my protein sources are from milk and whey. I'm not denying eggs have a great amino profile but yuck. sad.gif
