You need to plug in the power. Without power, window's default setting wont let you run max potential to save battery.

Hi,

I'm using MSI ge40.

I was being told that it is better to turn the turbo off for better lifespan as the temperature will not go to high, is it true?

Besides, I just bought a monitor... how do I set the external monitor as the primary monitor? Now sometimes after I shutdown/sleep the laptop, it will use the laptop screen instead of the external monitor when i open the laptop.

Hi

My notebook msi gs60 2qe is damage by water and have sent to repair. The tech from E-Gate called me to inform there is damage to mainboard(only mainboard) and need to replace. Shockingly the cost to change the mainboard alone is more then Rm4000. Is this mainboard cost so much?????

Have anyone here mind to share the latest MSI e-brochure with price? I am looking for 1. I am eyeing the 73VR/72 Tobii. There are only a thousand dollar difference between them.
Yesterday managed to talk to the dealer and they are offering Tobii with RM10499 and 73VR with RM11499. Both come equipped with 32GB.
The reason being the my son's alieanware M17R x4 is starting to have intermittent problem now and he is competing with me with my Illegear RX17 SLI now. Need to get another unit now.

Hey, thanks a lot bro. This really help a lot. I am interested and currently comparing GT73VR 6RE 016MY with GT72VR 6RE Tobii. Do you have any recommendation which one is better? Seems like 73VR has raid configuration while Tobii has well... Tobii eyeball tracking ability.

I would get the GT73VR 6RE. Specs wise its a clear winner. The one coming in malaysia is the 120Hz option. I want to pay RM10k for that if its in the GS series with GTX1070. But MSI's GS series uses GTX1060 only sad.gif

Plus it has a Thunderbolt 3. I know the Tobii's main page says 120Hz but its not in the specs page. Maybe they accidentally left it out or they are bringing in another variation. I'm not sure. I'm not a fan of the Tobii eye tracking. Haha.

I would say don't buy now with that budget. Wait for gtx 1050 to hit the market.

I sent service 2x. 1st time about less than 2 week for some minor defect.

2nd time they had to order some parts from Taiwan. Took almost 1 month to repair.

After replacement, i realized its the wrong parts. They ask me to send in again. I'm really unhappy.

The battery was bloated. They want to charge me for the battery at first even though it was under warranty. I messaged MSI, then after a few days, the service center say they wont charge me for the battery. Aftet a few more days, they say need to replace my keboard because it was damaged (by the battery bloated incident). I said fine, then they charge me for it. After collecting the laptop, i realised the keyboard symbol is wrong.

I called them and they ask me to send it in. No way I'm gonna let them hold my laptop for another 1 month. I ask them to order 1st. This is still ongoing now. Im waiting for the "MSI technician" to come in. I tried to call them since last week. Issue wasn't resolved.

For comparison, when my Alienware is not working, they came to my house and replace the motherboard, fan and everything within 2 days. Some times the very next day. Dell's service is still number 1. MSI, not so much.

Yup, dell is still the number 1 in term of after service in Malaysia. I once manage to get my alienware laptop fix in 2 days. Not alot of problem during claiming process and they dont interrogate you like other brand thumbsup.gif

I think their service centre quite bad. Half year ago my charger broke and I wanted to buy one from them. So I called them, then sent email. They say no stock need to order. I asked them to order but then suddenly silence after that lol. In the end I found a shop selling OEM charger. Been using the OEM charger since then. Luckily it seems to be working fine without any problems.
