IELTS? from British Council, got like 3 cert while studying there, No idea this is IELTS approval or not, what they email and wrote to me i don't need to attend any english courses in australia which is good news to me.

Now, I'm a bit worried. But then, one probably doesn't need a high IELTS score to get into a Design Degree. Not to mention Griffith University.

What did you use for English qualification then?

you were born in bintulu? woot
my hometown also whistling.gif
about back to the future; i been seeing it for like 4 weeks ago..it`s tuned on aus tv too; channel 9 or 10
lolz doh.gif
*
serious, lolz, my friend came back last Dec and he went Sarawak to visit his Sarawakian friend for a week, general review was that not that maju compare to KL lolz but food very good there. Anyway he's back there in Melbourne now. Yeah man was born and grow up there till i was 12, my primary skool was like 2 km away from the beach. Anyway from the top of my primary skool you can see the oil&gas industry near the coastline and also big oil tanker. Anyway was a good life there.

QUOTE(tam_ironcup @ Jan 18 2008, 09:38 PM)
did any of u do a levels before going to australia? if u did, what was ur AS result and did u apply with ur as results only or A2 results as well? and what did u get for A2 if u applied using A2 results?
*
AS results= was like crap, A2= even better than AS, i applied using the result slips (AS+A2) then i got unconditional offer , after that i send my a-level certificate when i make the payment just to confirm my result to them. Anyway apply early, don't wait for the deadline, coz near deadline always busy for the staff to process the application, anyway the earlier you submit the faster you booked your place for your 1st course.

QUOTE(pyroboy1911 @ Jan 18 2008, 09:53 PM)
Bintulu ppl eh? not reli maju la, shopping mall also like  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

yea, i agree with zltan. malaysian attitude cannot survive in Australia. In fact, cant survive in most of other part of the world. Assignment is no longer copy-paste, and late means late. have to discipline myself from now on.  sweat.gif
*
Oh serious ? lolz, anyway i love the beach there, playing kite there is always nice. Aiyah come on la, i don't really care abt shopping mall actually. But obviously Miri is a bigger town than Bintulu, i went to Miri (also ones lolz), and i ate my first McD there aso, so happy with the Happy Meal got the toy inside. now in KL, normal only, in fact i don't go there often, not good for my diet.

almattitude_v1, don't expect IDP to tell you wat you have to do to submit your application, when i went there they check my results(see if i can at least do the course, i check the requirement on9 and obviously it was more than sufficient), then my IELTS results and after that finished then i wait for the university response. anyway like the ppl here said check the qualification that you need to enter to the course you apply for. Anyway IDP should have contacted you ASAP. Anyway like i said the KL office is seriously under-staff. That's why i apply early coz most malaysian like to apply last last minute.

Melbourne Uni is more theory based.

Monash - not a clue.
dont really know about the rest

however for melbourne uni, u should know they are following the "melbourne model" starting this year.
look it up before u make ur final decision

Any seniors can give some comments about the "Melbourne Model" new generation degree in the engineering pathways? I knew that it will only be implemented this year and no students have studied before.

Anyway, what do you think about this move?

The rankings will fluctuate from year to year, hence never base your decision purely on ranking, unless of course you want to feel superior at that very moment. UNSW Engineering is still consistently one of the best engineering faculties in the country. Perhaps they should take in less international students?

last time they were 1st, THES now raked Melbourne University 1st followed by UNSW in Australia. but i don't care abt ranking, just get your degree from a recognize University.

engineering is still ok, for melbourne model they just offered some combined course like E&E degree (3yrs) > masters (2yrs) course, but the 4 yrs E&E degree is still offered if u dont wanna take masters. Medical engineering degree is gone, only masters left so u have to go thru biomed to get into it. another thing i notice is that u can get into masters of eng. without a degree in eng. U can go into masters in eng. by using bachelor of arts (but u have to be very good in results).

I dont know much, this is all i know, hope it helps, and if there is anything that I mention wrongly, sorry in advance. ^^

@nefertiti14,
Y not considered the MBA from CBS (Curtin Business School) - it's rated higher than that of Edith Cowan's if i'm not mistaken (don't remember where i read it from though so can't point u to the source, apologies)

Also, there's a thread on MBA discussions; xcept that's more related to the local Msian MBAs available.

Check out AGSM@UNSW (now Australian School of Business) and MBS (Melbourne Business School at Melbourne University). They are very well-recognised MBA programs in the country.

I.Truly.Pity.Those.Studying.In.University.Tasmania

Sorry, just can't help the fact mate. I was there for a business trip, and Tasmania is really isolated and i feel, deserted at moments. You are almost virtually paralyzed without a car. Probably because i was travelling around Richmond and Hobart, and not parts of Launceston or Burnie, but the places i was looking, was truly "boring" per se.

I did enjoyed myself, with the relaxation ambience and comfort of the people surrounding you, but as students, i find that insufficient.

Coincidently, i abruptly updated my blog with the cottage that i stayed in. Honestly speaking, one of the best accomodation i've stayed in for a long long time and the rate was "OK".
