It's a refined Windows 8. I don't think it will fail. I got no issue with Win 8.1 anyway. It's just those lazy fellas not willing to learn how to use it.

As long they force user to use those 'modern apps', half of population will still hate te to the core.

Nobody forcing you to use modern apps

I think the problem is lack of integration

I find windows 8/8.1 unfinished in terms of UI underneath I think the code is fine. But silly things like
Why they have 2 calculators. Some leftover outdated icons from windows vista doh.gif modern calendar app does not sync with desktop taskbar calendar doh.gif

Windows 10 will make everything consistent

Windows8/10 is not flashy

They got rid of the silly aero glass

Now the design is very simple with more functions

Metro/modern is minimalist which ios and android have started to folow

Nope they are forcing me.
Look at control panel (even worse for win10).
They are forcing me to ditch aero for their 'modern' (lah sangat) design.

Hmm, tried build 9341, everything seems to be working fine except IE just non stop crashing, certain old software seems to causing the Windows to flicker when I trying to Start > typing something.

Then 9879... Windows selection screen (dual booting Windows 7) seems failed to show up after I install Catalyst 14.4.
And damn non of my 3G can connect~! cry.gif
Wonder is it just my problem or known bug. Didn't bother with update further since no 3G, no internet...

Hey guys, just asking

Is there anything in Windows 10 that is different from 8/8.1?

I used to try Windows 7 builds back in 2009, but now lazy to try Windows 10 builds.

- start menu with tiles, mixed bag review, the lack of directly "pin to start menu" (left side list) still is a problem
- 1/4 screen snapping, good
- virtual desktop, although I not sure what I gonna use it for but people seems happy to have it
- by default almost borderless windows, though some softwares may glitch it for now
- "home" explorer group as default instead of "favourite" that lists recently used files & folders
- the return of "library" (actually I didn't used W8 much, but I noticed library was not there)

Just a few notable stuff. Tune in http://news.microsoft.com/windows10story/ about 34 hours from now as of I writting, see what they have in stock to show off. Should be expecting a new beta build as well, hopefully more stable, had some problem with the last one otherwise I'd be using it for daily usage now.

i always thought odd number like win7 is way better than win8.1 but i'm wrong. win8.1 > win7 if u hate the win8 interface then use classic shell

The way that Microsoft said about the "free first year upgrade" is extremely confusing.
Does it mean..7 and 8.1 users upgrade their OS to 10 in first year for free, but for users after the first year, they have to pay for it? hmm.gif

wouldn't that means "first year free upgrade" meaning when the windows 10 release, from that day until 365 day pass will be free upgrade period?

i mean that is exactly how it sounds to me..
