wouldn't that means "first year free upgrade" meaning when the windows 10 release, from that day until 365 day pass will be free upgrade period?
i mean that is exactly how it sounds to me..

The way that Microsoft said about the "free first year upgrade" is extremely confusing.
Does it mean..7 and 8.1 users upgrade their OS to 10 in first year for free, but for users after the first year, they have to pay for it?

Windows 10 is NOT SUBSCRIPTION BASED
"Once a device is upgraded to Windows 10, we'll be keeping it current for the supported lifetime for the device," said Terry Myerson, chief of Microsoft's operating systems division.
All customers running Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free within a one-year period following the operating system's launch later this year. After that period, users will have to pay for the upgrade as they would have with previous versions of Windows. Those who get the upgrade during the free period will have Windows 10 on their device permanently.
Microsoft really wants you to upgrade to windows 10 so they don't have to support older OS like Windows 7 in the future. If not Windows 7 will end up like Windows XP.
As long is your Windows 7/8/8.1 is genuine, you can upgrade. Jacksparrow not allowed
I will only upgrade when it is fully built and officially released ( not going to install any Beta OS) Installing developer preview on your main PS is a risk
