Discovered bug in login screen.

If you have multiple user account and set one of them as autologin (using netplwiz),
the login screen will show user account picture duplicates.

No idea. Maybe you can set your computer time to the future (without connected to internet) and see what happen. For safety's sake unplug all other drives and use only boot drive to test.

i just managed to grab the enterprise version of esd via mega. now trying to grab retail version via windows update. (at 90%)

oh. i am not sure what happened, but mine is working fine here. it did get stuck from time to time, but it will resume after that.

all sorts of ui integrations and moving-around are still happening at this stage. for common usage i find it's getting better (things are making sense now compared to the last few builds)

what's the error message? I didn't apply the update downloaded from windows update. it detected that I run the os in vm so it didn't let the update run. so I copied the .esd and did fresh install from scratch.

.esd is the encrypted installer file.

you can decrypt it with tools into standard .wim, then use imagex to dump its contents into a blank partition/virtual disk. then you can use bootcd to add the virtual disk into boot menu.

the obvious: the power button finally moved close to start button.

actually i don't do upgrade via windows updates. i use w8.1 pro's built-in vm feature for testing. the upgrade will not run when it detects that the os is a vm.

i downloaded the untouched iso here, extract install.wim from the iso, then use imagex to dump the contents of that install.wim into a virtual disk.
