Wait till they actually want to show me some kind of convincing functions that improve quality of life.

A little fast startup, revamped UI isn't convincing.

Hmm, tried build 9341, everything seems to be working fine except IE just non stop crashing, certain old software seems to causing the Windows to flicker when I trying to Start > typing something.

Then 9879... Windows selection screen (dual booting Windows 7) seems failed to show up after I install Catalyst 14.4.
And damn non of my 3G can connect~! cry.gif
Wonder is it just my problem or known bug. Didn't bother with update further since no 3G, no internet...

Hey guys, just asking

Is there anything in Windows 10 that is different from 8/8.1?

I used to try Windows 7 builds back in 2009, but now lazy to try Windows 10 builds.
*
- start menu with tiles, mixed bag review, the lack of directly "pin to start menu" (left side list) still is a problem
- 1/4 screen snapping, good
- virtual desktop, although I not sure what I gonna use it for but people seems happy to have it
- by default almost borderless windows, though some softwares may glitch it for now
- "home" explorer group as default instead of "favourite" that lists recently used files & folders
- the return of "library" (actually I didn't used W8 much, but I noticed library was not there)

Just a few notable stuff. Tune in http://news.microsoft.com/windows10story/ about 34 hours from now as of I writting, see what they have in stock to show off. Should be expecting a new beta build as well, hopefully more stable, had some problem with the last one otherwise I'd be using it for daily usage now.

How to do it after I have downloaded the ISO file?

my windows 8 already almost 10 Gb (with security updates n all) , so windows 10 will be about 16 GB ??

Previous builds were ~20GB.
Downloading 9926 at the moment, should be roughly the same.

I thought about using it as daily usage since several builds earlier ago but still, things aren't really stable enough to do so. I had connectivity issue, graphic driver issue, and more importantly networking softwares not working perfectly. I'm using stuff like Proxifier which completely ruin the screen (heavy flickering / blank out) while trying to do certain action which is pretty much the biggest problem that make me stay away for now. If you just doing other stuff, should be just fine. But still, I hearing cases of people's HDD got completely broken.... something scary like that... hah.

Actually, I think the interface somehow just got worst for the latest build! Surprise! Even juts a few pixel shifts or slight color change can ruin everything.

Omega driver somehow didn't work, had to use older Catalyst 14.4 and it's fine now.

This time around I actually think about migrating to W10 as daily usage - get familiar with some new interface and stuff. Previously I only took some short peak.
The interface seems much sleek this time, they do some scale adjustments I guess. But that explorer error at the "HI" screen kinda killed some of my brain cell... sweat.gif sweat.gif
Try to sort things out later, hopefully tomorrow is a smooth ride.

Btw, did the Change the EnableBlurBehind trick actually works? (enable transparency on explorers) Didn't work for me though.
Nvm stupid me. It actually enable blur for the start menu only, for now.

DX12 adoption is likely... slow... just like DX11 and x64 adoption speed...
How many games nowadays that in-the-works supports announced support for DX12? As far as I know, none. Pardon me if my news is a tad slow.

Realistically, I will think - 2 or 3 months after W10 release, developer start to announce support for DX12 for various futures games, minimum development time 1 year, so expect stuff ti pickup at end of 2016... lol... just my wild speculation. biggrin.gif

Though, hit a couple networking problems with 10074 really wanna pull my hair out. Can't continue anymore =/
One issue that seems to inherit since several generations and never got fixed - tray icon "ghosting"... Seriously, still not fixed in W10 lol...
(after close certain application, the icons remain at tray bucket until you hover your mouse on it)

3G connect but no data running, everything on the meter 0.00kbps, sometime.
Problem creating virtual wifi hotspot, as there is no "microsoft virtual wifi adapter" found but instead there is an adhoc adapter... forgot the name. Hotspot can be created on that adhoc thing but other devices (my phone for example) failed to connect - checking ipconfig the hotspot don't have a gateway, and WPA2 is known to have difficulty connect on mobile and I don't know how to change it to WEP... rclxub.gif
