No idea but I suspect it's go to do with memory management.

I alt tab a lot and most of my games are run in windowed fullscreen

thanks for the pointers. you're playing games that's nice. i haven't played any on it. i believe there are still plenty of things that game developers have to do to make the games work nicer in w10.

i am playing games with w8.1, just recently updated to 349.90 via windows update. so far so good.

i guess later on we will have all esd files ready. currently they cannot be downloaded via MS links.

i just managed to grab the enterprise version of esd via mega. now trying to grab retail version via windows update. (at 90%)

edit: build 10049 installed. project spartan is a minimalist web browser.

Well.. It's really a minimalist for now.

windows update can sometimes fail but it works. Just give it a few tries. If you wanna get 10049, just set in advanced options to fast ring.

I left it run overnight, probably something did got updated - the list got shorter. I thought I say do not sleep/hibernate but......... dammit, checked the same power setting page and it says sleep after 30 min -.-
Now the update refuse to even connect again...

oh. i am not sure what happened, but mine is working fine here. it did get stuck from time to time, but it will resume after that.

all sorts of ui integrations and moving-around are still happening at this stage. for common usage i find it's getting better (things are making sense now compared to the last few builds)

So you prefer this built of Win 10 to Win 8.1?

for now, i cannot compare 10 tp to 8.1. there are still plenty of bugs here and there in 10. it's just too early to tell.

overall, i'm fine with 10. to me it's like MS is streamlining and simplifying everything.

maybe i should wait till it stable? or join the wagon?

If you wanna use it as main os, i suggest don't, although it's stable for common uaage. Tech previews are not meant for production use anyway. It's just feature showcase, and a tool to collect usage data mainly. As of now i mainly use it to check software compatibilities only.

You can always try this thing as vm.

I am trying to update to the lastest built 10049. But always facing error when download and trying to installing.

what's the error message? I didn't apply the update downloaded from windows update. it detected that I run the os in vm so it didn't let the update run. so I copied the .esd and did fresh install from scratch.

I cant remember what is the error message..

What is .esd file?
