what's your laptop? if it can run w8 it's likely to work fine. i have used my laptops with w7 (stock), 8, 8.1 u3, and then this wp 10 tp.

that recycle icon look so cheap stake, no one complain it to Microsoft?
*
Yea... the icon's somehow doesn't blend in UI... it's plain simple and cheap... maybe cost cutting on icon designing? too much hassle ? LOL...

I thumbup.gif Windows 8.1 now.... after going though so much hardship on getting comfortable with the Metro UI... the icons is from Windows 7, so i am good.
but Windows 10 somewhat more crap. Revamped UI, explorer, themes doesn't give off a nice and comfortable. I find the icons from Android Kitkat much more nicer.

Will skip Windows 10. Windows 8.1 all the way thumbup.gif

maybe it's too early to comment anything cosmetic yet at this early stage. it's a technology preview.

just use whatever you feel comfortable.

oh. sorry but what do you mean by 'laptop software'? afaik i don't think msi will lock its machines that way. (i.e. fixing them to a particular os)

The one where by default cpu processor (blue light) change to graphic processor (orange light) when I launching game software.

I tried with win 7 and 8.1 both did not work properly and my laptop is noticeably very very slow compared to when I'm using win 8.

So I think I will stick with win 8 for this laptop and buy a new one when win 10 launch.

Oh and its really suck this laptop does not support newer graphic driver which is a shame to you MSi.

this is just a driver/proprietary software compatibility issues. check out and update your bios/drivers/software here. http://www.msi.com/support/nb/GP60.html (please read and understand the upgrade notes carefully to avoid issues) there are drivers for w8.1 provided at that page. (i believe the software that you mentioned is called scm)

btw your laptop is not that old yet. my g55 is even older. and it runs w10tp without issues.

Omg didnt know it was SCM issue, I will try it when I have time, honestly 3 times resetting to factory mode is a hassle and it will take much times.

Thank you.

good luck smile.gif

yeah it's a painful process if you go factory reset mode.

you should try to use windows built-in tool to create a system image instead. the best part of a system image is that it is a snapshot of your current os, software, games, files, and settings, in their most up-to-date form as of the time of its creation. this means when you do a restore, you don't need to go through the whole upgrade path, plus further windows updating, driver/software patching, etc. it's already in the working form, with everything ready to go.

in your case, you should just create one after making sure everything works and updated in w8.1. it's very time saving, and the restore process should be much shorter.

No idea. Maybe you can set your computer time to the future (without connected to internet) and see what happen. For safety's sake unplug all other drives and use only boot drive to test.

do you mind sharing about what caused the 'so unstable' instability? for common use i don't feel anything weird about 349.90.
