thanks for pointing out there are 2 type of bt. but for 2nd type of the bt , what is the point of doing the bt if we will be imposed with the same interest as our intention of doing bt is to enjoy lower interest rate.

Thanks.
*
both are actually 0% interest and is equally divided into 6 months (or 12 months) instalments.

let's say, if you bt 12k at 0% for 6 months, when it's equally divided to 6 months, you need to pay monthly rm2k.

but if you bt 12k at 3% for 6 months, when it's equally divided to 6 months, you need to pay monthly rm2,060.

the difference is on the monthly instalment amount you are going to pay if it's at 0% or 3% or etc.

there are 2 types of bt:
1) the bt instalment amount will be posted into a dummy cc account (created solely for this bt purpose) with its own unique 16-digit cc number
2) the bt instalment amount will be posted into your existing cc account join with your current cc outstanding

if it's (1) then you may pay the minimum amount every month and until the final month you pay one shot all outstanding and you still enjoy the 0%.

if it's (2) then you need to pay the whole statement amount as paying minimum amount will cause your existing cc account to be imposed with interest

Sorry, I'm confused on your 1st BT.
Even I BT to a dummy CC (0 debt inside), I still have to make monthly repayment based on the Balance Transfer Amount right? If 3k for 6 month, means 500 per month.
If I only pay the MIN amount (lets say RM50), the remaining 450 balance will be charged financial interest right?
If I not mistaken, for all BT, I need to pay the assigned monthly repayment.

No worries. Maybank 100% can refund you the overpayment back to CASA.

I was thinking maybe I can do early settlement once hit max credit limit, reset back to 0, then BT again, den reset.. the cycle goes on.. It will be good, since got free aeon points I assume?
But, I'm getting lazy to submit BT form.. plus PBB MBB 0% BT  ending soon.. seems like not worth the hassle.. LOL

If MBB refund overpayment, any charges?

it depends on the rules set by the bank on the bt for dummy cc. there's one only starts charging the interest if you unable to clear after your term (6 months or 12 months), and provided you pay at least the minimum amount every month.

my experience with CIMB BT, u just need to pay the minimum repayment only and not the proportion installment.

Says

CIMB BT 6 months for rm6000

u can pay at rm50 for 1st month and repeating the same until the 5th month then last month pay full at rm 5750. No interest charged

unlike maybank.

already tier at RM1000 at each month. Says if u pay min rm50 only, then finance charges is applicable.

Thanks for clarification. I remember I read some place on GenXGenYGenZ about this, but not sure how it works.
Since my only BT from MBB, PBB and Aeon, All of them require full monthly installment repayment. smile.gif

No prob... sharing is caring. tongue.gif
Hope PBB keep extending... biggrin.gif

Based on my rough count...doing 0% BT for the last 8 months, have generated free money of > 1k dy. drool.gif
Not a lot if compare to use it on high return investment.
And it does need close monitoring and tracking of all the repayments... rclxub.gif

Yeah. im also keeping all the BT, call for cash, purchase installment plan all in a log book. Every month dont know utilize how many IBG for the said.

I treat them as advance money while not disturbing my fund. Mainly utilize it to offset my flexi home loan interest which save me 4.50% when BLR was 6.60.

When good time to vest in gold, vested some and luckily exit faster when price slumped.

Now aiming at Stock market due to fluctuated crude oil. Its like giving us second chance to enter O&G stock as a restart. One man loss is one man gain in stock market.

Guys, Maybank has received the payment from Aeon. I think the cheques just cleared today.

I have unbilled transactions for my AmEx and Visa MBB2Cards, what I can see now is it has deducted my unbilled transactions and only show the balance.

How can I request back from Maybank for the whole amount Aeon paid and not after Maybank's deductions? My bill only due in mid of next month, don't want to clear the amount so soon...

Thanks. notworthy.gif

When is your statement date?
If your due date is mid month, then I guess your statement is ~ 25.
Call CS soon to request to transfer that payment (from AEON) to your CASA, otherwise you will get a Credit balance in your next statement (assuming your BT amount was bigger than your unbilled amount).

Edit: I normally call them and settle it before the next statement. Not sure can still request after it has been statemented.
