Just to let you guys know,
I purposely overpaid my Maybank CC by Rm10k from Public Bank CC.
Then I request to refund the excessive payment RM8k (RM10k - my outstanding amount which supposingly only need to paid on next statement date around 2k) back to my Maybank Saving Account.

The whole process is free of charge BUT will take UP to 8 working days.
And if the excessive payment is more than RM10K, you need to provide payment receipt for their verification.

Not sure about other bank. I will test on CIMB soon. Stay tune smile.gif

Anyone knows is CITIBANK Credit Card having promotion for 0% balance transfer for 12 months?

https://ringgitplus.com/en/balance-transfer...nsfer-Plan.html

It mentions "0% for 12 months. Offer ends 31st December 2014."

Just to update you guys what I had find out about Citi 0% BT deal.

Apparently ringgitplus make a mistake on their product.
They had rectified it.
Below is the email from them.

"Thank you for your visit to our website.

Regarding the Citibank Balance Transfer, we are sorry to tell you that the mentioned information from our website for the product is wrong. We have checked with Citibank Customer Service, the bank actually offers interest rate from 6.99% for their balance transfer.

We have forwarded this things to our Product team to update our website."

what do you mean HLB can get cash via BT?
Do you mean transfer overpay to CASA?

meaning u overpay HLB credit card amount, then withdraw it as cash via BT. at HLB, instead of BT to other credit account, u BT to saving account. so u can get the cash while enjoy 0% interest rate since MBB didn't charge u interest ma biggrin.gif

This is what I always do.
Just I'm confused with the word you used on 'withdraw cash with that card'. Initially I thought you mean you do 'cash advance'.
Actually not only HLB can transfer overpay to CASA, others bank can do it too smile.gif

Actually MBB can offer you to BT more than statement balance.
My last BT was actually BT 3500 (based on statement) from PBB to MBB.
MBB call me to verify the details, and they notify me, my available credit limit is up to 8k. They can actually allow me to BT up to 8k. Means I will overpay PBB by 4500.

But I did not accept it, simply because I want to swipe my MBB for some big expense.

Not sure how many of u face these before. Maybe u guys can request next time if u want to opt for overpay smile.gif

QUOTE(marquis @ Dec 5 2014, 12:11 PM)
Ah, I see. My bad. Quick question:

I know I can apply for a BT as many times I want to as long as I'm within my CL. However, is there a grace period? Say for this month's statement, I wanna do another BT. Basically what I plan to do is load up my CIMB Card and do a BT to my Maybank card. Consolidating all my debts to one card and come January, pay off all my debts one shot.

So the question is, how long do I need to wait until I can do another BT?

Thanks smile.gif
Nope. I read the fine print: you can't do a BT within the same bank.
So they'll call you once they've processed the info? I just received an email (not the automated reply) saying that they will be passing my documents to the relevant department. Since I've made some more transaction on my CIMB card after the statement date, is it possible to request a higher amount from the one I put in on the form?

Thanks smile.gif
*
1st question, you can did AS MANY BT AS YOU WANT in any timeframe give you still have available credit limit (AEON/PBB 80%, MBB 90%). If I not mistaken, someone here mention they use the same statement to apply BT, and the bank actually did approved without really check it.. haha.. you may just try your luck using same statement.

I did few times BT with MBB. ONLY the very 1st time, they did not call me to verify my details.. They just approve and made the payment all by themselves.

Second time onwards until today, all the BT I made, they will call me personally, to confirm my details, BT amount, which bank, monthly payment, explain all the details to me for EVERY application.

There is one time, one of the officer actually mention to me, if I'm interested to BT more amount instead of statement balance since I still have some available credit limit.

I'm not sure whether everyone receive this before. Or maybe you can try to request during the phone verification? Good luck smile.gif

P/S : If MBB did not call you on the next day, you can wait for few more days or call them back immediately. MBB is the best on processing BT. fast approval fast payment.

UNLIKE AEON, I sent my BT application last friday but did not receive any call from them (which usually happen on the next working day). So I decided to call them on wednesday to inform them that I NEED THE PAYMENT PAID ON 15 dec, PLEASE process right now.. Then today, they called me, did all the verification and according to her, cheque will be issued today. Again, as mention by quite a number of people here, AEON is very slow in processing BT application.
