Well, and that too, I agree. I'll order the Baldoor, see if I have time to catch up with it.

QUOTE(VagueConcerns @ Nov 22 2014, 12:00 AM) Yes actually I have read quite a lot of complaints about the durability. Despite having a metal body they're quite fragile. Considering their price and sound I believe some things were compromised. These may need a bit more care than what one would like for an entry IEM from a big brand name. Thanks for the recommendation! Just got it but there's a mini-concern which hasn't been sorted out. Was wondering if you could help. The IM50 certainly feels solid even though it's plastic, and the cables are replaceable but even so still looks and feels like they can take a beating (though I would reserve the 'toughness' for when accidents occur, and not make abuse a regular thing). I believe the higher price is totally justified. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=71680114 |

I don't remember hearing any noise from my laptop using those.https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=71680114 Compared to the XB400, the IM50 is more sensitive and have a much lower impedance. 108dB/mW is quite sensitive, plus at 10 Ohm getting it loud is a breeze. Be sure to try it out on a few more portable music players. The TV would have a bit of noise but you'd be surprised that they don't actually sound that bad. When I Google Macbook Air noisy headphone jack, there seems to be a lot of forum posts about that. But as for the noise following the music, I've never had that happen ever with any players, laptop, amp, or DAC. My old 2008 Dell Vostro 1400 was noisy, and also my old Samsung LCD through the heapdhone jack, but the noise could be drowned with a bit of music, provided that they're not 128 kbps mp3 or lower. If it's indeed the IEM it's still under warranty right? |

QUOTE(VagueConcerns @ Nov 27 2014, 05:34 PM) I don't remember hearing any noise from my laptop using those. Problem solved! It is indeed about the impedance. Apparently AT IM50's impedance is higher than anything I've used ( XB-400, ATH M20x ). I tweaked the audio settings on my Mac ( changing it from 16-bit to 24-bit ) and the hissing is gone! I'm so happy now. From a Physics nerd, to someone who knows a little bit about impedance, in-ears, bass, burn-in... But after using it for quite some time today, and switching back to XB-400, I realised that I haven't been hearing a lot of things in a music with full clarity with my XB-400. And the more I listen to my AT IM50's, the more awesome they sound. |

Guys I need help, I can't decide between the IM02 and the IM70. I've tried the IM70 but I don't know anyone who has the IM02, should I just get the IM70 or shoot the moon for the IM02?
Anyone has heard both can give any advice or comments? I read a lot of reviews but as always more is better. |

Anyone has heard both can give any advice or comments? I read a lot of reviews but as always more is better. IM02 - Very analytical and dry. Feed it with good source + good music = heaven, feed it with garbage = garbage. Slightly towards cold side and treble might get a little spiky if paired with wrong combination of source. Separation and soundstage, are superb. IM70 - Forgiving, warm and thick sound. Bass can rumble well firmly and it has intimate midrange, a little peaky on treble as well but not sibilant at all. Totally fun sound. My 2 cent This post has been edited by psychoactive: Nov 28 2014, 04:16 AM |

QUOTE(yimingwuzere @ Nov 27 2014, 11:10 PM) For those who already have 1964ears CIEM and the like, any opinion on their new Adel lineup of IEMs? A second eardrum or diaphragm to relieve our actual eardrums from excess pressure which doesn't contribute to details and sound.https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/104333...-hearing-and-yo That logic is sound (no pun intended). I notice that at louder volumes my ears experience some sort of "cut-off"...heck it's almost like my ears were clipping. It'll start to happen just before it gets loud enough for me to cringe, and my head has this 'tightness' feeling like my brain is flexing. I listen using IEMs quite softly, usually no more that 20% of available volume. That usually makes bass a little light and details a little shallow, and the only IEM so far that was good at low volumes to me was the Atrio. |
