FLAC files are generally easy to find, all you have to do is
pay for them.

AKG K240 is a semi-open back headphone, I thought you did not prefer headphones of this type? o-o
Anyways, I would suggest you to take your time and re-consider what you really want. As @ChrisNoob mentioned, it is quite pointless for you to spend more than what you can actually use. Thoroughly think through what could be useful to you. Like for example, if you were to invest in a Wireless headphone that uses AptX, you would obviously want a device which has AptX support or it would be kind of pointless. Generally, the limiting factor for wireless is the encoding factor, which wired headphones are not limited to. So, before jumping into an audiophile gear, take in the factors surrounding it, like the source, or not you'll end up not being able to use the said headphone to its full potential. Like pretend, you want to make the best sweet and sour chicken; you use the highest quality of ingredients but your
sauce (get it?

) is mediocre. You'll still end up with a mediocre sweet and sour chicken dish.
You'll have a better chance asking
here.I guess he's talking about the big housing of the IM-50. Most probably the gap between the Tragus and the Antihelix of his ear is narrow.
You really like the M50x, don't you?

Save up and get one la , don't have to "borrow" your sis's headphone anymore, haha.

In my case, I bought my sis a HD439 and she barely uses it, RM400 fly like that.

Anyways, my opinion is that for reference sound, I would say the M40x does better, having a more flat tone. To me, the M50x have harsh highs and boosted bass but that doesn't mean it's a bad pair of headphones, but rather not that suited for studio monitoring.
after I posted this comment.
Actually my main source of music mostly from my iPhone so I actually not sure does iPhone has this AptX
Maybe I should try out M40x As well 👍🏻 Does those closed back headphone has this issue like clipping your ear? My current gear will clip my ear until I really pain with just 1hour of wearing it
