Guys, just a question, if I am to use a third party router + modem such as Asus/Tp-Link/DLink, would the issue of slow Youtube be alleviated? Thanks

Thanks Using third party modem would not solve the problem. You had to used VPN. Before that try to contact TM regarding your issue. What internet plan you are using and what the average speed when browsing Youtube? |

Sorry for the late reply. What internet plan you are using and what the average speed when browsing Youtube? Currently am using 4mbps Streamyx plan. The thing is, Youtube is only slow after 11AM, and from my reading, start becoming normal again at 1AM. Youtube on normal speed (during morning before work) would get around 450KBps, while after 11AM, would only be around 44KBps. |

QUOTE(chenhui87 @ Sep 9 2016, 04:23 PM) My parents are in Penang, they too are unaffected actually. But they've long been a Streamyx user and have replaced the modem+router with a third party one (since the original stopped working).I live in Kedah around Kulim area. Maybe location is the reason? Who knows. Also, when searched in google, I do found that people across the globe is facing the issue, not just MY, but most of it are old threads going back to mid 2000 and such. |

Try this trick to fix the problem. Disable IPv6. You can disable it on your modem or computer. First try disable it on pc. 1. Click the start button 2. Type View Network Connections 3. Right click on the adapter that you used for internet. The default name for the adapter is Local Area Network if you have not change it. 4. Click on Properties. 5. You will see Internet Protocol Version 6(TCP/IPv6) from the list. 6. Untick the box for Internet Protocol Version 6(TCP/IPv6). 7. Finally click OK. Try stream some youtube video to fix if its fixed. |
