I found my TMnet line attenuation is high 200+ db... frequent disconnect. Can advise how to improve this?
*
Wow, what a big number. ohmy.gif
How come you can still connected to the internet with that high number.

Frequent disconnect typically caused any cabling problem if im not wrong . Need to report to TM.
Staying far away from TM DSLAM could also caused high line/signal attenuation. Well, this problem cant be fixed.

how do u guys check the snr and line attenuation pls? streamyx is causing headache!am using the 8mbps
*
Using modem control panel. Typically you can access it at 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
You need to login to your modem control panel so see that. If you dont know the password for you modem google it obviously.

What is your modem model btw?

Guys, just a question, if I am to use a third party router + modem such as Asus/Tp-Link/DLink, would the issue of slow Youtube be alleviated? Thanks
*
Using third party modem would not solve the problem. You had to used VPN. Before that try to contact TM regarding your issue.

What internet plan you are using and what the average speed when browsing Youtube?

My parents are in Penang, they too are unaffected actually. But they've long been a Streamyx user and have replaced the modem+router with a third party one (since the original stopped working).

I live in Kedah around Kulim area. Maybe location is the reason? Who knows. Also, when searched in google, I do found that people across the globe is facing the issue, not just MY, but most of it are old threads going back to mid 2000 and such.

Hi Mubarak90,

Try this trick to fix the problem. Disable IPv6.
You can disable it on your modem or computer.

First try disable it on pc.
1. Click the start button
2. Type View Network Connections
3. Right click on the adapter that you used for internet. The default name for the adapter is Local Area Network if you have not change it.
4. Click on Properties.
5. You will see Internet Protocol Version 6(TCP/IPv6) from the list.
6. Untick the box for Internet Protocol Version 6(TCP/IPv6).
7. Finally click OK.

Try stream some youtube video to fix if its fixed.

Mostly though, I watch Youtube on my tv, and there isn't much settings available there. -.-"

If you had Windows PC try those solution. I just want to confirm the problem caused by IPv6.
If yes proceed disabling IPv6 on your modem.

We are all good. Try check data rate on your modem. Usually its under ADLS/xDSL info

u mean using the router page?
*
Yeah. Try check the SNR margin, Line Attenuation and Attainable Rate value.
If those are okay, its mean your internet line is good. So probably other problem.

Line problem obviously. 480Kbps, that is about 1/10 of your internet speed. LOL

any suggestion to fix this?

Already asked TMConnects on twitter to refresh my connection. also no good. disabled ipv6 also no good. having this problem a few hours just after paid my bill  vmad.gif

Need to open a report, call 100. Tell them you already done speed test and restarting the modem but the problem still persist(berulang).

Im not knowledgeable in this stuff. But in my humble opinion this might me caused by cabling problem at outside of your house.

QUOTE(Fjive @ Sep 11 2016, 03:50 PM)
hi guys, wanna ask if anyone encountered this weird issue before. I have a streamyx 4mb setup with TPlink 8970, it shows connected and i can even see the streamyx IP but cant load any website (both LAN and wifi also same). When technician came over and try it with his own modem router, internet works perfectly on LAN and wifi.

I have done factory reset and applied latest firmware but still the same, streamyx password is also correct. Some how cant seem to determine if this is a modem router hw or sw issue. If anyone encountered this before do share the solution. Thanks ya!

A quick question...

Does TM supports DSL Bonding? Cos if they do I'm thinking of getting a 2nd 4MB line...
*
What the purpose of having 2 DSL lines? Why not just use one line with very fast speed.

To those who are curious.

16. Can I have more than one Streamyx connection to my premise?

Yes, as long as you have extra telephone line because each Streamyx connection requires one direct/dedicated telephone line.

32. Can I change the package before installation?

You are not allowed to change the package before installation. Should you need to do so, kindly cancel your application and reapply.

The download speed how slow? Is this the only option for pantai timur state users? (Since no unifi..)

If your quota usage is low eg. below 40GB I suggest use 4G internet. It is usually very fast. Maxis and Celcom have high quota plan, while other telco I dont know. For example this(http://bit.ly/2eusfmz) new plan from celcom had 40GB of quota at RM98 a month. http://bit.ly/2eusfmz

But initial setup is quite costly as you need 4G wireless router or MiFi which typically priced above RM250.

Refer link I provided above, Celcom First Gold Plus

I mean if you buy the 4G wireless router by yourself not with plan. Like this one, http://www.lelong.com.my/catalog/all/list?...yword=TL-MR6400

i'm so fed up with those CB useless TM officers..
i've been throwing shitload of F-Bombs to them but none of them can come up with solution.
my story is:
26/10 - 2mbps installation(relocate A/C) done in new house c/w upgrade to 4mbps
27/10 - need wait max 48 hours for upgrade to take effect as told by CB.. i mean CS
5-6 days passed, no upgrade
31/10 - after bombard them, my TM A/C renewed to 4mbps, but router DL cap + speedtest still remains the same 2Mbps (after restart modem + reset port via 100)
01/11 - all the CB officers are out of solutions, and they lodged report -- somemore saying ONE TIME CHARGES will be imposed to fix it?? Mudafuka, they're unable to upgrade my package and now they're forcing customer to pay extra to fix their shit??
*
Sorry to hear that. I believe they should not charge you.
