Same route(no highway, only city and b-road), same driving style, same petrol brand, same driving time, same distance.

Hybrid 1.3 Auto = 25km/liter = 4 liter/100km
Axia 1.0 Auto = 21km/liter = 4.7 liter/100km

Guys, I just got call from Perodua HQ regarding the Power Steering Flush Kit. I emailed to them on Tuesday asking why the service is included for Axia whereas Axia is using EPS.

This is Perodua's response:
For more info on the updated Axia Service Package, refer HERE.

Hey guys,
I think it might be helpful if we kept track of our bookings. It will give us a better idea of wait times other people are experiencing.
I compiled a list just from the last few posts alone, if you would like to add to it please feel free to copy and paste the whole list and update it as needed.

i perosnally think that Axia 1.0 E is a best buy if compare to the Viva 660 last time, specs a lot better with the same price 25k

maybe because it's EEV so they get the incentive for the price to reduce hmm.gif

No la, those equipment for G listed were either additional or better equipment compared to E.

If based on your logic, takkan the Advance only equipped with the below equipment meh...

Equipment

Touchscreen multimedia audio system with DVD, Bluetooth and GPS
Leather seats
Leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls

normally before production, there'll be pre-production units.
these unit are for testing. or maybe sent to shorum for booking purposes.

later come the production units.
as to monitor quality, normally they come in batches.

to define batches is actually hard, unless u r in the design & assembly lines.
during design, there'll be review of design.
assembly lines may have 3, each line 200units/shift.

for layman, it's easier to say that unit >1000 (say only, katakan) is second batch so on so forth.

for me, if u have the luxury of waiting time, why dun just buy any product at mid-cycle or end-cycle.
why?
design is almost freeze as feedback already notified and problem already rectified.
assembly workers have more knowledge (mahir) in fitting the cars.

correct me if im wrong.

Can you buy radio and speaker from accessories shop and fix it on the Axia Standard E model?

Perhaps you get better boom sounds than the original radio from Perodua.

I went to showroom and see edi. Overall looks quite nice apart from the metre cluster and rear lamps (the biji2 LED thing looks weird on this car).

the SE/AV variant front just looks plain ugly.

gonna wait n c if proton iriz will drop in price or not. the safety features in iriz looks interesting and if it is lower than 40k might as well get iriz than this. if no price drop than no choice but to get axia SE.

oh, another stupid question: is there any place to install ABS and ECS?

Any idea how they actually define 1st batch, 2nd batch and so on?
*
Just visited the showroom. The salesperson mentioned 1st batch booking ending this week. 2nd batch booking start next week. I assume he is talking about car production batch, not customers batch. I could be wrong.

Test drove the Advance model. Nice car for the price, and promised fuel saving in the long run.
My only gripe is low torque, i.e. acceleration, in lower RPM. Decent enough when getting in or out of junction from a stand still. Also decent acceleration when I get to higher RPM in higher gears. For the record, I'm a jackrabbit starter in my current beat up car.
I read somewhere Axia had understeer issue. I found the handling is OK, though I didn't get the chance to try high speed cornering because of the test drive route chosen by the showroom.

@darkdevilrey

Yeah, it's cheaper than the pre-launch tentative price.
G AT Metallic RM33,200.

It's a 1000 cc 3 cylinders, aluminum cast engine. Hence the low torque, slower acceleration, don't use too much fuel too fast.
Also, that 21.6km/l is only achievable if you drive the MT model at top gear at constant speed of 90km/h, and maybe favourable wind direction biggrin.gif

Viva is a 660/850 cc car...

if the models have two types; ABS and non-ABS, i think it could be done but i would be very hassle to do so. you have to install the ABS module, the pipes, ECU & TCU also have to be updated/changed since those 2 control units need some input from ABS control unit like vehicle speed, wheel rotation. and need to install 4 ABS sensors at each wheel, probably need to change driveshaft as normally the ABS-driveshaft have ABS-ring on it.

As for ESC, if you want to install it on your own from scratch, it is impossible. you have to calibrate the ECU & TCU to suit with various driving condition like dry and wet, calibrate ESC and install yaw sensor and steering sensor (detect steering angle), modify wire harness to connect with ESC control unit.

Unless we have a special case like Inspira which is identical to Lancer, some Lancer/Evo outside already equipped with ESC. Hence, if the Inspira has wire harness already, what need to do is to install ESC unit together with ABS unit, install yaw sensor and update ECU.

Correct me if i'm wrong.

the engine is aluminum block for weight reduction purpose.

No VVT at both intake/exhaust. K3-VE and 3SZ (Myvi & Alza) have VVT at intake.

the engine use IEM (integrated exhaust manifold). Means that 4 ports of exhaust combine to be 1 inside the cylinder head. Take out the catalytic converter pipe, only 1 port will be seen. Reason for low emission as the catalytic converter can be heated up quicker, lightweight since less parts used, small engine packaging. not sure how people going to modify the car like 4-2-1, 4-1 extractor. probably only 1 steel pipe coming out from the exhaust port. looks weird though.

No. From the structure i guess there are 2 layers of firewall, inner layer towards dash and outer layer towards engine. There is a hollow space between this 2 layers, the foam is insert and filled this hollow space. Try to look at the 2nd pic, the foam is slit inside the space, not just paste at the firewall. I can confirm by try to poke and pull the foam by my finger. Same with the pic 1, the foam is extend from bottom to upper firewall and the upper foam is secured by wiper cover. So imagine it was a large piece of foam cover the whole firewall. Anyway, just my imagination.

However, just wonder what will happen if the foam absorb water? Since the foam is expose at the edge of wiper cover, during rain/car wash the water can enter that place and absorbed by foam, and by capillary action, at the end the whole foam will be soaked with water.

Perodua Axia test drive summary:
- underpowered and serious delay in throttle response, when i tekan kao kao when engine made loud noise but the speed doesnt pickup sweat.gif
- steering abit on the heavy side (a good thing) and perfect turning radius, cornering no longer feels like a sampan floating.
- i find the interior more spacious than a Myvi, and steering position (not adjustable) is perfect for ppl with height less than 170cm

air intake lubang on the right, is this normal? hmm.gif

That's normal for a japanese design now day, to reduce a weight and force when during a crash.
Even a Toyota 86 has a similar design, you can see both side can see the banana leaf very clear.

user posted image

About the air intake hole will facing right just because when the on moving, will have a lot cold air coming in from head light area. Most of the daihatsu car was following this design.

Those tested the Axia G spec Manual, don't you think the clutch is abit too light ?? Like Perodua forgot to put the spring at the clutch pedal ?

tested the highest spec auto yesterday, the engine's vibration is noticeable

indeed it's really underpower and delay in throttle response, would like to test the manual next time

other than that, overall is quite ok.. for the e/g spec the grill connected to the headlamp is weird.. the grill is inward and not flat position with the headlamp hmm.gif

My gf just got key today. She got the advance version. I tried drving. Is a lil underpower, 1.0litre what to say. Im sure the fc is damn good. The best part is got side parking sensor
, where as im driving a 200k car without even a reverse parking. Overall she loves it cause its small and compact. It comes with free tinting under llumar might require to stick another darker layer. The steering position is not adjustable.

This is a nice little car. Some people like me loves basic, adequately-powered, small hatchbacks.

The engine note is unique, eager, simple and does the job. Currently getting 16.3km/l with 80% city driving with lotsa stop-go traffic. Sub 1000km odo, auto.

Throttle response is slow because uses e-throttle, not the traditional cable with throttle body type. So, after you press, the ECU needs some time to process, only then open throttle body. Many cars like this these days...

Would you trade a P2 1000cc car like Kelisa or Kenari, for Axia?
Let's say they fetch about RM10~12k, so need to pay up for a new one...

I did get the axia , to replace my myvi 1.3.

kelisa/kenari undoubtedly have great pick-up response.

Here's the situation.

Filled in full tank, then drive around for 198km mix 50-50, then fill it up to full again, (pump shown 8.91 liters). So, the car is doing 22km/liter in mixed cycle? hmm.gif

Anyway, some tips to share:
1. The Eco light will still be lit even at 100km/h speed, provided you don't step on the gas pedal too much. Above 100km/h not tested yet.
2. And yes, you can accelerate from 0 all the way to 100km/h with Eco light on. Patience & light foot skill are needed. laugh.gif
3. Done long distance driving, around 400km++, the engine is super smooth, even though it's a 3-potter. During idle (or traffic light stop) can feel very slight vibration if in "D", so put it in "N" will eliminate that.

my car.. standard G, auto transmission

picked up from showroom with 12km on odometer with around 75% fuel in the tank.

pros
1. saves fuel. eco light still on at 120kmh, but require super ninja skill.. if 100kmh no problem to do at all.
2. aircon quite powerful
3. radio speaker oso ok ok.

cons
3. slight vibration when idle with D engage and u press brake.. probably too low idle rpm, plus the aircon is running..solution, change gear to N when u are not moving.. it frees up the engine...
4. dashboard too high.. still not used to.. i never drive myvi before, only sedans.

oh, i got silverstone kinergy tyres, including spare.

I hope no one drive fast on those tires, especially in the wet. They have a bit of a bad reputation.

90% ECO light is on. Odo is below 1,000km.

Distance traveled = 438.2 km

Jalan-jalan around home town with family members on board, with the same fuel tank travel back to KL using back road but stopped halfway to refuel. Around 140 km back road, 150 km town drive.

Distance traveled = 293.2 km
Fuel spent = RM 33 = 14.3 liter
Average = 20.4 km/liter

I can say I'm pretty impressed and happy with the advertised fuel consumption figure that is easily achieved with moderate effort. nod.gif

Few notes for those who are interested on driving experience.
1) Drove on highway around 120km/h and the car feels stable, much better feel than a floaty Myvi. The engine felt very smooth, no sign as if the engine is stressed, and wind noise is minimal, so is the 3-potter. RPM is around 3,200 rpm IIRC.
2) The recommended tyre pressure is 250 kPa, but on those LRR Hankook Kinergy EX tyres, it doesn't feel rock hard, it absorbs bumps rather nicely.

Comfort may be subjective, I once sat at the back during highway cruise is quite nice. Not too bouncy. Back seat may be a lil straight up, but for me is acceptable. Legroom is definitely better than Myvi . Can fit relatives with 1.8m tall nicely also.

I dont have babies, but I will usually drive with a passenger. Or 2 passenger. At evening will drive parents or girlfriend out something like that. This is why I was concern over the 1000cc engine. Hmm, as for fuel, I think M4 has pretty good FC right? Stated as 16km/l, iriz as 13km/l (quite bad IMO), and axia with best FC 20km/l

That's normal for a japanese design now day, to reduce a weight and force when during a crash.
Even a Toyota 86 has a similar design, you can see both side can see the banana leaf very clear.

About the air intake hole will facing right just because when the on moving, will have a lot cold air coming in from head light area. Most of the daihatsu car was following this design.

13.5km.l is based on 1.6 CVT variant. the figure derived from NEDC cycle. but the touted Axia's 21km/l value is not clearly stated from where. was it from NEDC cycle, constant speed? Iriz is capable to score almost 17km/l at 90kph constant speed (1.6 CVT variant) and 18.2km/l (1.6 MT variant).

NEDC cycle covers Urban (lots of idle and speed <50kph) and Extra Urban driving condition (high-speed until 120kph).

impressive indeed. at first, i thought the low FC of Axia is solely because of lightweight vehicle. but, 1KR engine is also good. integrated exhaust manifold is really helpful.

Good day Guys...wanted to ask you guys regards of the Security tint film comes in the highest spec as i was advised by Perodua SC that they give Llumar Solar and Security Tint for the advance version.

Is it true as even the ALZA Advance Version also stated comes with Security Tint but i saw non of the Alza or Axia does comes with the high end tint as looks so normal.

Anyone of the Axis Users can confrim is it a Marketing Strategy or it does really comes with Security Tint.

EDITED : May I know what is the interest rates you guys able to obtain and also was there any free gift or discount offered for this car..Pls share as wanted to compare with MY SC to see is the details given to me is Legit.

Yes, SE & Advance comes with Security tint. There's a visible tint application line on the glass. Plus, there's a small sticker placed at right & left front windows saying "Protected with Security Tint".

But, the IRR is average only. So expect to feel a bit warm if open park under direct sunlight or long journey. smile.gif

Yes, SE & Advance comes with Security tint. There's a visible tint application line on the glass. Plus, there's a small sticker placed at right & left front windows saying "Protected with Security Tint".

But, the IRR is average only. So expect to feel a bit warm if open park under direct sunlight or long journey. smile.gif

Honda's SC part & labor price doesn't do justice for what you get. The only reason I sent to Honda SC is just to keep the warranty valid. Same can be said to few other SC though. mellow.gif

Hopefully from 2015 onwards, Perodua SC offers SN-grade oil for Alza and Myvi Lagi Best. I don't see why 3SZ and K3 engine cannot use that.

I assume that P2 0W20 is RM120 for 3L. That's RM40 for 1L, or RM160 for 4L. That is similar to Honda's price. They should be considering they are both fully synthetic oils.

Another Rm26 for oil filter and gasket? Plausible.

Current 5W-30 4L from P2 is RM86 only.

I asked SA before. i think it's from their product handbook or something. Btw, the price is for early reference only. Later they will upload in P2's website along with other car sevice package later here.

yesterday my friend ask me to follow him to take his new axia.. driving G (Manual) from temerloh back to kl...

- handling better compared with viva or myvi
- feel very spacious inside
- can feel engine vibration and can hear the engine noise
- the sounds from the roof is quite loud when heavy rain
- i don't really like the dashboard instruments placement because i cannot view it properly.. the steering wheel block the eco mode lights
- cannot adjust steering wheel position
- full size spare tyre (not tayar sotong)

EDIT : btw i like G spec in black color... looks nice

Same as advertised by Perodua. I can confirm this for auto in mixed condition. 20.1km/liter or even can go higher if you're skilled enough. Managed to get 22km/liter last time around for mixed. Can check my few posts back or thesun posts.

Highest for city drive so far, stop go traffic light, usual rush hour crawl, traffic jam etc is 17.1km/liter.

RON95 v RON97 won't make much difference in pure city drive. Slight difference in mixed condition though.

19km remaining range when refuel..

here my update after pump full (first click when pump eject)
quite bad fc since i drive no follow eco, 120kmh ~ 140kmh..
first few days i try to follow eco indicator, but lama lama, dont care liao..  laugh.gif
only 1 long distance trip (about 200km return trip to Bahau with 4 pax) and the rest is city driving (within 5km to 20km destination with 2~3pax)

so,
by calculation

421.9km / 24.213 liter  = 17.425km/liter

*this method may not accurate subject to pump mechanism, length of pump nozzle went in during pump, and whether nozzle senget or not during 1st and 2nd refuel.
*for more accurate method, must drain all fuel inside tank and fuel line. then weigh exact amount of fuel before fill up.  biggrin.gif  only mad man will do this.

I can vouch this.

Originally I wanted the E one, but was told the waiting list is 7 months since all driving school sapu edi.

Here's the interesting fact I learned from the salesman. Perodua only made around 200 unit of E variant per month to comply with Najib's 1Malaysia policy. (something about releasing a super affordable car for rakyat, of which, in this case, the driving school. doh.gif )

For those who are interested in touching-up your car (well, you never know); here's a good option to do it. All Axia colors are available.

I find Blue is the best color for axia SE and ADV..
not sure how it looks on G.. cos G spec dun have big mouth like SE and ADV...
i take black color G cos just to be safe, and i never like the green color at the showroom i went.. looks like toy. biggrin.gif

axia SE and ADV got big black mouth, so the dark blue looks very nice on them..
red, yellow and white are too contrast.. too standout..
if black, no contrast for the "mouth".

well, a lot of positive comment. why dont u have a look at i10 & iriz. at least just to compare.
price wise, axia is cheaper, quality is there (for that price) and FC, well, a lot better than iriz.

oh sold your myvi.. ingatkan u sold your preve sweat.gif
preve is better, right? except for the quality part tongue.gif

I dun think it is a wise idea.
Axia ayla agya are not JDM model to begin with.
Do we need to mod our car to look like indon car?
Better design our own, or just mod to SE spec, or ask bodykit shop to design new bumper suitable for our G spec myvi-ish headlamps.

Ooo, but i think our axia better than agya ayla indon version, no need to modi to look like them..
Perhaps aftermarket part for indon version already out for quite sometime, maybe if want modi, take aftermarket part then ok laa, if want to modify to look like indon version then is a no no for me..

hello everyone I need some advice on

1. if I had bought G spec and wanna add on fog lamp, but G spec bumper doesn't like SE or ADV have 2 holes in front then how i add ya?

2. i have no knowledge about motor oil, 0W-20 5w-20 0W-30 etc bla bla, how I know which is most suitable for Axia (as I saw in internet it is okay with any types, but Peroduo say should use only 0W-20 for better fuel consumption performance)

1. doing so will void the warranty, but i believe maybe later aftermarket design will come up with a nice housing for the foglamp to sit on. right now u can make one ur self of just retrofit, cut hole and stick the generic foglamp.
2. doesnt matter if u service in perodua, they will use the appropriate oil.
if u service urself, void warranty, and still u need to find similar number oil also.

if headlamp beam is your concern,
below is standard G beam pattern at night.

if u put the foglight, it sure fills the gap, but as u can see, axia dashboard is quite high, the gap is not seen unless u put ur head at steering column.

Someone who have bought the Perodua Axia G (AUTO)?
I have driving for 3 weeks, and I found some problems on it.
Here I will list out the problems below:

I. The RPM not stable — Sometime I driving at 60km++ and when I slowing down to 40km and below, the RPM meter drop down (for sure), but after I want to get back to 60km and above (I press on the accelerator nicely but not press very hard), the RPM meter rise to 4 and then drop back to 2-3 immediately ( 2-3 which is ECO mode), this situation will cause the car stunning just like when you are driving a manual car at 50km++ speed and suddenly change the gear to second gear.

II. The brake seem like too tightly — Because Axia Standard G don't have ABS, so it was using a normal brake system, but i found the brake system seem too tight, every time after driving from MR2 highway, I found that my front wheel disc was very hot. (water drop will be evaporated when touch the disc wheel)

III. The key ignition switch getting hot after driving — I found that the key ignition switch was very hot after driving, so I try to ask my cousin and I found only Perodua Car will like that even my house also have one Myvi after driving the key ignition will getting hot too.

*** Because I'm the first time buying Perodua Car, maybe the issue above is general problem for all Perodua car or maybe not, I also found that Perodua Car and Proton Car after start the engine and turn on the air-condition system will have the very noisy sound came out from the air-cond. yawn.gif

...and sorry for the weak English explanation~ sweat.gif Please try to understand it rclxms.gif

Who have the problem above~~~~~ maybe the first batch car always have the problem rclxub.gif

Be it a normal brake system or an ABS system it should work the same.. ABS only comes into the game during emergency when u slam the brake and the wheels lock up.. It is asleep when i brake normally

hahaha... I know you are just making a general statement, not a question nor complain, no worries. Even my Toyota everytime I start engine then the loud fan sound will kicks in because AUTO mode sets the fan to full blast; especially in the afternoon time. laugh.gif

BTW, considering most of the braking job is done by the front brakes, a hot disc isn't a concern. However, if you smell burnt brake smell everytime you finish driving, then only you are in big trouble.

red hot color disc isn't a concern also... in fact it is a sight to behold too and for photographers, its a prime shot.

A disc turn blue when cooled down though... that spells trouble.

Is possible to do, you want to change G spec's front look like Advance also can, accessory is just a plug in, you just need $$, actually many people buy G spec enough because, advance is just accessory look more nice and more one system call (ABS), engine 4 different spec also same 1.0cc .Otherwise, in Malaysia, I think ABS is not that useful, this is not racing car, and traffic jam everyday~~~

please remove this kind of mentality. it's damaging and won't do good to the human race. even at 60km/h there's a need for ABS to steer away from potential accidents in front of you.

The front and back sensors are super sensitive. In a typical traffic jam and driving below 20 km/h, I will get loud continuous beeps when motorcycles are driving past me in a safe distance (more than 50 cm). To stop this, I sometimes have to engage the handbrake. Do other SE or Advanced car owners getting this problem too?

Yea, i meant not that useful for us, is important but still alot accident happen even with ABS system.
The most important thing cause the accident:
I. Alot blind spot in Highway.
II. Alot people like to run faster behind you and forcing you get away from the lane even in the busy highway, this will give the opposite driver pleasure, they want to move to other lane but alot car pass by in the next lane, and the behind that guy keep sticking on your back even flashing the light. whistling.gif
III. The road have alot "trap" that challenge you reaction, once you hit the "trap", you might to change your tyre. rclxms.gif

Yes, I experience this also. It will prevent us from getting sleepy during traffic jam. tongue.gif

Anyway, IMHO it's not a problem. Just that when a motorcycle pass by, got sound from their exhaust and their "whoosh" effect, that may contribute to sensors detecting imminent collision. Because if you try the sensor in controlled environment and you ask your brother/sister/wife to stand nearer and nearer, it will function as normal reverse sensor. smile.gif

1. Don't aim the air flow at the windows
2. Clean thoroughly the inside of your windows. It is a new car. There might be oil/grease/residue on the windows from manufacturing etc.

Hi matmoto5125,

Noted your comments.

I thought my car's sensors are strange because:
1. The beep is about 1 second delay after the motocycle passes by.
2. it will beep when passing under the smart tag toll (maybe the transmitter on the roof emits same radio frequency or the road sensor)
3. it will beep when passing through the parking gate barrier (maybe the road sensor and the metal gate barrier triggers it)

Do you get the same as above?

1. Yes, same. Because the motorcycle is fast when it passes by, not like it stayed at one spot and slowly approaching us. So when the motorcycle is gone (because it's fast), then only you can hear the beep. I figured that out after 2 days of city driving after I got the car. laugh.gif

2. Yes, same. This is because of the toll booth side barrier lol. You know, the guard rail beside your car preventing you from crashing into toll booth or TnG reader poll. Normal. Just drive not too close to them.

3. Yes, same. Refer explanation #2. The sensor detects parking ticket poll. You want to get parking ticket sure you squeeze the car nearer to the poll right?

No worries bro, the sensor will ONLY activated when you drive below 20km/h. So, if the sensor continue to beep even above 20km/h, then only can consider problem. biggrin.gif

I hope this explanation helps fellow SE/AV owners. icon_rolleyes.gif

Same route(no highway, only city and b-road), same driving style, same petrol brand, same driving time, same distance.

Hybrid 1.3 Auto = 25km/liter = 4 liter/100km
Axia 1.0 Auto = 21km/liter = 4.7 liter/100km

Yes. I'm using Shell Fuelsave 95. That figure I calculated manually. If at MID, it fluctuates between 16.8-17km/liter.

What spec n colour did u book? I booked white advanced edition..

If my car is only ready by December, better to wait till January to register it

These SA should have given better excuse rather than excuses that were plucked from sky one.. shakehead.gif

One thing to note also, it's faster if you book it with Perodua Sales Sdn. Bhd. (PSSB) branch, not the dealer. Even DMM as the biggest dealer also face shortage.

Do you care about speed? If not, go for it. Go test drive first. See whether u like how it drives.
For me, hey its a cheap eev car.
It not like we have any other options.

But bear in mind, waiting list for the cheapest variant is super long, cos those driving school bought alot of them.

Different people, different need. Only you know the reason for your judgement. nod.gif

But personally if you ask me, get at least the SE version laa. Of if G spec is good enough for you also can. E spec's waiting list is too darn long plus it's too basic considering you're coming from a flagship coupe. biggrin.gif

Any car can be soundproofed. My suggestion is to drive the car for at least 10,000km. Get to know your car first, spot the improvement that can be made, then only do it. Otherwise you'll tend to fall into placebo effect if you do it right after you got the car. My 2 cents.

For me, Axia's NVH is good enough. 120km/h barely any wind noise heard unless you're really looking for it. The Hankooks fitted also are comfortably silent. nod.gif

Hi All,

I'm the new joiner to Axia, as I made my booking on 27 September and just get my Midnight Blue Spec G Manual Axia on 1st November.

The FC is quite satisfied based on my opinion, as the total distance travel from Muar back to my hometown is 300km and drive at average 100 to 120km/h once entered PLUS. The odo showed 16.1km/l and I estimate it cost RM35 on petrol for this trip as pumped RM70 (Full tank) petrol before start travelling and the petrol indicator just dropped to half tank (4 bar) when is few KM away to reach my home.

Overall is quite satisfied with the performance of this car. Below are some of the drawback solely based on my opinion :
1. The power is acceptable but the RPM is a bit high on first gear as it can reach 5k rpm when speed reach 25km/h based on 3 second acceleration. Which means I need to shift gear very quickly after the car start moving from stop.
2. The dashboard is a bit high from driver view.
3. The front light is too separate away which made the center point of the view a bit dim. The projection of the upper light is too high which made the light focus on the tree across the road instead of the road.

Finally, a review from a manual owner. biggrin.gif

1st gear's RPM is that high? If you accelerate slowly (say half the throttle) RPM is still 5,000 @ 25km/h?

For the headlights, you can adjust it accordingly. Pop up the hood, on the headlight assembly, there should be an adjuster gear-like screw. Or, ask P2 SC to do it for you.

Yea, even accelerate slowly also the RPM will reach 5k by the speed of 25km/h, just that it takes more time to reach that speed. But even press a little bit of the throttle also it will able to accelerate to 20km/h with around 3.8k RPM in 3 second.

Hmn, oh really? That's good then. Will ask them to help to adjust on the visit. Thanks!

Do you know whether the buzzer alarm and the autolock when brake is out in the market? As it's soket can't fit the Alza/Myvi soket.

Yes sound proof is a must, do follow us on fb to get ths up to date promo

thxs to one axia owner rwho camelast wek for custom made coil mat, was too busy so no pic of it.

as for rear cam, if using something similar like myvi, there is no rear cam input, for myvi lb they have an aftermarket module where u 'hacked' the oem wiring to get the input, than again the question of void warranty would appear

I just book axia premium today to replace my kancil, I want get it early next year.
According to my sa, I can add auto lock for rm120, someone from perodua will come to enable/install it. For reverse camera he recommend me to do outside and will not void warranty ,anyone can confirm both of info regarding auto lock and reverse camera .
When I ask about how to enable DVD player while driving,he also still not get any info how to do it.

if "someone from Perodua" will come and enable or install it, why not they install it directly at Perodua side before deliver to showroom? hmm.gif

and also, installing reverse camera sometimes will void the head unit (HU) warranty, depending on the SC.

Red color? Rawang bound? laugh.gif

Anyway, it's a 3-potter, sure different note with a 4-potter. Some can live with it, some will refer it as "motorboat" sound. For me, the engine 3-potter sound from outside when stationary is not a big concern. When you're inside the car, the sound is less noticeable already. And the engine note while venturing the highway beyond the speed limit also is adequately muted. It's a subjective experience.

Depends on which shop also.

In terms of heat rejection, I can say so-so only. The spec is available in a Llumar brochure at any P2 SC, applicable to all P2 models, RM1,500 with installation IIRC. Forgot the details.

Autolock module - we all here still waiting for this item. I believe that perodua guy oso waiting the same thing (from acc shop) if got, then he will install for u. Not in the capacity as perodua, but as his side income la.

Reverse cam- same thing also, of course will void warranty if need to cut wire lah. We dont know if the axia HU got empty reverse cam slot or need to cut here cut there then only able to install camera..
That is also his side income laa.. If perodua provide the service, i am sure it will be stated in black and white form.

haha. if you can live without the autolock for now, then just go without it first. The Axia is using a different system compared to maivee and veevaa, so the auto lock module gonna cost a bit expensive for now, so for RM120 the price is ok lah. Not that cut-throat la.

Booking is recommended, as always.

Beware of installing autlock from acessories shop, it may void the warranty. There is a safety reason why autolock cannot be implemented in the car due to lack of impact sensing door unlock module.

This is where the regulation can appear to be a bit illogical for the average Malaysian motorist, who has to deal with the high risks of a carjacking or robbery on a daily basis, and are taught to lock the doors the moment they get inside a car.
car jacking more dangerous.

This one also can go straight into "Excuses pluck from sky by the Salesman" list. doh.gif

Have you not heard the official news? The bookings are waaaay above P2's already-ambitious forecast and now they are working close with suppliers to meet the demand.

QUOTE
“It (the delay) is not due to the issue of capacity as Perodua’s plant produces 7,000 to 8,000 units a month. It is the issue of having the right parts and we are now working closely with the vendors,” he said, adding that by year-end, Perodua hopes to reduce the waiting period to one-and-a-half months.

This. +1

It's not that we want to make the car feels more premium for having autolock. It's just for our own safety. And this case is being successfully used by insurance company to not be held responsibility/coverage in any accident that occurs with passengers trapped inside due to autolock.

now is 2014, next year is 2015.

if u buy in 2014, and the car is manufactured in 2014,
then next year (2015), ur car is already 1year old.

if u buy in 2015, and the car is manufactured in 2015,
then in 2015, ur car is 0year old.

if u buy in 2015, and the car is manufactured in 2014,
then in 2015, ur car is already 1year old.

depreciation value is calculated based on manufacture date.

normally, year end (2014) got many sale for the same year (2014) car.
& early next year (2015), got many sale for last year car (2014).

My wife got her car in 20/10/2014, current mileage 1144km. By the way, her's Axia spec is White SE manual. Fuel consumption for now is 17.8km/liter city driving. Last week got call from SC, need to sent axia due to gearing issue, this will effect manual transmission only. from my experience driving axia, the gear change not so smooth, even after recall from Perodua.

Last week got call from SC, need to sent axia due to gearing issue, this will effect manual transmission only. from my experience driving axia, the gear change not so smooth, even after recall from Perodua.
*
what problem actually?

That's good FC for city drive. thumbup.gif

Can elaborate more on the problem? What's your RPM when drive 25km/h in first gear?

From my understanding, Perodua issue the Recall Letter for Axia Manual transmission. They replaced cable for gear, in long term might be issue with the gearbox. something like that i also don't quite understand the real issue. May be somebody in forum can furnish us better regarding the problem. icon_question.gif

Is that figure shown in MID or you calculate manually (total distance/next fuel up liters)? Give it some time to adjust.

It's time for FC comparison Round #2! laugh.gif This time the destination is different (city), but test period is still 1 week drive, same as before.

N/A 1.5 Manual = 14.3km/liter = 7 liter/100km
Axia 1.0 Auto = 16.8km/liter = 5.9 liter/100km

Imagine you can go 2.5km further for every liter you burned. But Axia's fuel tank is relatively small, so the distance it can cover is more or less the same with cars with bigger-equipped fuel tank. Just that the fuel consumption is lower.

My previous FC comparison:

meter always give less value.
if u calculate by hand, take note how much fuel u pump,
then take the trip meter value, divide by how many liter.

i always fuel full until nozzle ejects.
usually RM55~RM57.. Around 24 liter..

last trip i covered 383km with rm55, fuel range remaining while refuel about 20km..
fc meter shows 14.2km/l

but if i calculate by hand ;
fc = 383km / 24 liter = 15.95km/liter

hi all.just received my axia SE spec today.
i checked normally like people do when receive new car.
but i noticed the engine vibrate like abnormal.
the salesman said that is because the engine used 3 cylinder.
so, i think ok la..
after that i drove back home.
during driving the stereng also vibrate even speed about 20km/j.
when i'm speeding,no vibration.
only during slow speed and when i press break which gear at D.
is it problem with mounting or timing?
rpm during idle gear at N is 600rpm.

I'm no expert but 600rpm for idle is a bit too low, don't you think? Furthermore, even Viva (3 cylinders as well) has no such nasty vibration as described by you. I guess you should bring this up ASAP for ratification.

Dude, not to upset you but this was the experience I had when test drove the Advance version during launch day. Really turned me and my wife off and never looked back. I read similar experience from many local car websites about the car vibrates madly at slow speeds. You should have test driven the car to see if the vibration would be acceptable to you or not. I know many people say they can live with the vibration but many cannot.

Hopefully it is fixable by retuning your engine timing or software update. I really love the car for the price for running around town and would reconsider if this vibration can be at least reduced to old saga level. Do update us, thanks.

I think most models need to wait due to overwhelming response esp the G and Advance version. Didn't ask about E. If you are trading in the car, they try to get the axia faster for you. In about a month.

That's what the sales guy told me.

I haven't ordered. Undecided to get G or Advance. But leaning towards advance. Price difference close to 10k unsure.gif

If Advance, I'll get red. If G spec, maybe blue.

Why you choose G spec if you don't mind me asking?

Prefer the front design of the G spec instead of the Big mouth looks of the SE/Advance spec.
The things that i love on the SE/ Advance spec are the chrome finish, the back spoiler and the leather finish on the interior. But, i can mod all these aftermarket with a price less than Rm10,000. smile.gif
Just my personal opinion.

The things that i love on the SE/ Advance spec are the chrome finish, the back spoiler and the leather finish on the interior. But, i can mod all these aftermarket with a price less than Rm10,000.  smile.gif
Just my personal opinion.

Ya, the front design of G is nice. I would get G because of that and the 10k cheaper pricing.

I'd get Advance coz of the safety features (abs, ebd, ba) and the fancy trims. But this car is purely for city use.

Hence, the dilemma. rclxub.gif

I got saham in bank rakyat,so that rate for member rate. For non member 2.9%. They only charge rm10 for stamping. If I take 100% loan, also 2.9-%. For those who got saham/members better take bank rakyat.

I heard bank rakyat low rate is for govt servant only is it true?

Anyone take axia G loan about 80% for 5 years or 7 years? What is the rate u get n which bank? Is it the least amount n the shorter period u loan, the higher interest charged? Dunno should choose which plan. Pls advise tq.

Yup. But the G spec lacks ABS+EBD+BA. If you notice, P2 purposely put a very huge gap in term of spec-ing their car. Just look at the line up, you'll either have a basic car, or a complete car, nothing in between.

Last time around (on the day Axia launched) I asked was like this:

90% loan 7 years = 2.6%
100% loan 7 years = 2.7%
90% loan 9 years = 2.8%
100% loan 9 years = 2.9%

Yes, higher interest rate if you take shorter period. But you should count the accumulated interest paid. I think still cheaper than longer period/years for most cases. It's really up to your budget. So plan properly. You also need to factor in car insurance, road tax, car maintenance and petrol/toll. Btw, Axia road tax only $20. laugh.gif

I prefer to take shorter loan period. Just my personal preference.

Exactly. they should've slot in another variant above G that has ABS+EBD+BA as in SE, but with G face. They should've known not everyone fond of that (SE/Advance) kind of ah beng wannabe look.

The part make me "beh song" is we agree that some free gift like umbrella, full tank and steering lock. In the second meeting with her, we ask her to add a "smartag" for us lo, she agree and keep quiet. Then after sign loan agreement when officially take car, she refuse to pump full tank and give umbrella lol as she take we request Smartag as reason.
me and my father just ok lo, don't want make susah but really beh song. end up my car only come with 2 bars fuel, steering lock and smartag. whistling.gif

I guess they are practicing a tyre lottery then. I know it is not uncommon, thus as long as the performance is about the same, I will have no issue with it.

Depends on what batch your car rolls out from the factory. I saw few WAxxxxR & S Axias rolling on Hankook this couple of days.

Personally, I trust Hankook more than Silverstone although Axia's Hankook speed rating is "T".

Dry performance = Good. Comfortable. Silent.
Wet performance = Don't venture above 110km/h.
