Just watched Buried! This film is the best one I've seen yet. Such thrill with minimal effects. Ryan Reynolds best performance I believe is in this movie. The ending will hit you.

Also watching the classics soon. A friend recommended The Shawshank Redemption. Her is also intriguing. The Machinist is also twisted as they say. Hoping to finish them all soon.

The Unknown Girl(2017)
La fille inconnue (original title)
French with English Subtitle.

Belgian writer,directors - Jean-Pierre
Cinematographer- Alain Marcoen
Stars: Adele Haenel, Olivier Bonnaud, Jeremie Renier .

Haenel plays Dr. Jenny Davin, a young doctor working in a
free clinic in a working-class neighborhood.
She has no friends, no social life, no romantic life,
no personal relationships and she lives alone in her work place.

On one of her final shifts at the clinic, she and her intern
are closing up shop when yet another patient arrives after
business hours and begins hitting the buzzer.
The intern wants to let her in but Jenny refuses to do so.
She tells him that he cannot allow himself to be overworked by
patients by seeing them after work hours.

The same person who had been trying to get buzzed in were
later found dead from a blow to the head and after a look at the
clinic’s security tapes by police investigating the crime.

Jenny is devastated by this news and with guilt for not opening
the door the other night and decides to begin her own amateur
investigation into the case, using her position and useful
information from her patients.

The things that made this film impressive that set them apart
from others was that then low key manner that viewers feel as
if they were watching real people going through the paces of
their lives instead of just a mere movie.

Anyone having the Arrival UHD 4K HDR movie? It is a 10bit BT2020 HDR 4K movie but I don't understand why the brightness and the color is so dull when on HDR vivid picture mode. Other 1080p movies looks better than it.

You got the original Blu-ray disc? Else if downloaded, probably fake upscaled stuff.. Sorry, can't discuss more than this cuz here we discuss the movies and not sources.

I saw The Last Knight already available in 1080p. Not really a fan of transformer's franchise though, have you guys watched it?

Transformers: The Last Knight is.... quite OK! biggrin.gif

never liked them too much but this 5th instalment is rather enjoyable.

simple, rather crappy or kiddish story as usual... 2.5 hours long.

poor acting but boosted by the presence of anthony hopkins.

michael bay, in his usual style just won't fail you when it comes to action and more action!

the last 30 mins is pretty intense - all that action, colors, firepower, cgi... almost an overdose.

overall, i find it rather entertaining. 2.5/5.

the special effects are probably worth a second watch in 4k when available.

sleep curse 2017 is a hong kong horror movie, direct by herman yau.

while the story is not great, it builds up nicely to end with a horrific last 10 minutes.

not as scary as some other ghost-horror movies but it has the chinese "the eye 2002" kind of style and feel to it.

movie is partly filmed in penang, malaysia.

stars anthony wong chau sang with malaysian jojo goh and a few more locals, i think.

be mindful if watching uncensored version with HD audio as the sudden and loud eerie sounds might raise your hairs! biggrin.gif

3/5.
