Heidi (2015)

I know a little about Heidi's story. An orphan girl who was thrown on the laps of her grandfather, by her aunt.

I have watch some episodes of 1974 Hayao Miyazaki TV Series, and have to add not all of them.

Now, this Germany production is GORGEOUS!!!

I mean, GORGEOUS!!!

Supposedly on a budget of USD 8,800,000, money WELL spent!!

Anuk Steffen is perfect as Heidi!!!

The location shots BEAUTIFUL!!!

A fantastic family movie. Suitable for ALL ages.

Please note it is in German, and has English subtitle. Be advise

More movies like this should be made!!

Lavalantula (2015)

Have you had one of those days, where you are sitting on your couch and you JUST DO NOT WANT TO MOVE....

You had switched on the TV and you just watch what is on...

This happened to me a couple of days back and for some odd reason, it was on Syfy Channel (which I rarely watch).

Lavalantula was on.

Apparently, on for at least two thirds of the movie.

Several comments about this "gem"

1) Steve Guttenberg is in this? Steve Guttenberg whom we all love in Police Academy and Coccoon!!! He is reduced to doing this?? The synopsis to Lavalantula states it best "Colton West, a once popular movie star and action hero from the 90s, is now reduced to acting in low-budget movies about horrific bugs. The old days of glamour and stardom, seem to be long forgotten and now Colton, the star of "Red Rocket""

2) The title, Lavalantula!!!

3) The story, nothing can be said about the story.... That's is, NOTHING CAN BE SAID!!!!

sleep curse 2017 is a hong kong horror movie, direct by herman yau.

while the story is not great, it builds up nicely to end with a horrific last 10 minutes.

not as scary as some other ghost-horror movies but it has the chinese "the eye 2002" kind of style and feel to it.

movie is partly filmed in penang, malaysia.

stars anthony wong chau sang with malaysian jojo goh and a few more locals, i think.

be mindful if watching uncensored version with HD audio as the sudden and loud eerie sounds might raise your hairs!

Thread's all about 1080p movie love. No TS or camrips crap. 4K is allowed cuz it's higher res and gooding. TV shows have been discussed briefly now and then, but those are rare and can get messy. So, we'd rather stick to just movies.

Agree with u. Tom Holland much better in term of funny and voice. Andrew Garfield is so-so and more matured. Anyway both is better than Tobey Maguire. Just my 2 cents. Don't bash me.

war for the planets of the apes.... i find it not as good as what some reviews say.

the story is darker, focused almost entirely on the apes; little on the humans except the colonel.

hence, i find the story a bit lacking on the human side incl the warring factions which should be given more story and charcter building.

ape characters very well done; excellent job by andy serkis and woody harrelson.

the special effects are no doubt first class; watch it in dsthdma audio!

although it is "assumed" this 3rd episode brings the trilogy to a close, no brainer we will see andy serkis return in some ape movie.
