This movie is overly packed with stars that it looks wasted, esp gary oldman and elodie yung.

The humor isnt exactly good.

I give it 2.5/5.

in a way i think i enjoyed the Baywatch humor a bit more.

anyways i'm still waiting for Baby Driver to come out in HD release. it can't come soon enough!

kimdotcom: caught in the web is a documentary about kim schmidt, a personality in world of internet, hacking, piracy, government spying, etc.

not unlike the movies fifth estate (julian assange), away from keyboard (pirate bay) and snowden (edward snowden).

kimdotcom is currently awaiting extradiction from new zealand to usa on charges of piracy and fraud.

an interesting real story that has yet to play out!

sleep curse 2017 is a hong kong horror movie, direct by herman yau.

while the story is not great, it builds up nicely to end with a horrific last 10 minutes.

not as scary as some other ghost-horror movies but it has the chinese "the eye 2002" kind of style and feel to it.

movie is partly filmed in penang, malaysia.

stars anthony wong chau sang with malaysian jojo goh and a few more locals, i think.

be mindful if watching uncensored version with HD audio as the sudden and loud eerie sounds might raise your hairs!

The other night I watched It Comes At Night. have mixed feelings about this. on one part i liked the suspense and atmosphere of it but on the other hand i hated that nothing else really happens. i give this one a 3/5.

oh well at least there's Narcos Season 3 to keep me occupied this week.

Wu Kong 2017 is a reasonable but animation overdosed monkey king story set "in the beginning" of his full story.
With 5 monkey king movies in 5 years, it is hard to expect improvement!

Brotherhood of Blades 2 is pretty good. An anthology series, this story has nothing to do with the first one.
Except that it is about loyalty and betrayal in the ranks of the elite ming military.
stars chang chen, just like the first one. 3/5.


God of War 2017 is good.
an elaborate war film between 16th century ming army vs japanese pirates.
directed by gordon chan who also made the four trilogy.
stars Vincent Zhao, Sammo Hung, and Yasuaki Kurata (if u remember him!), 3.5/5.
